I'd like to remove every sentence that says something may, might, possibly, or potentially could happen, and reread it to see only what the author claims he has experienced or done. I suspect that would make this a much shorter book.
The writing is awkward, as are the stylistic choices. The information about memetics Packwood presents can be gleaned by reading the back cover of a book by Daniel Dennett. The information about magic, he places in a context where "When the illusion is fully dispelled, and the world is seen for what it is -- countless hordes of programmed zombies launching unrelenting attacks against potential leaders -- the evolved human will finally understand without a doubt that evolved humans are soldiers engaged in a war with the world, and as such, will be much more mentally prepared to fight" (pp. 139-140). If you're ready to believe that, well, then, buy this book.
