In this New York Times bestselling erotic enovella trilogy, a buttoned-up businesswoman takes her friend’s advice and has a fling with a stranger on a trip to Vegas—only to find herself under his mysterious, sexy power both in the boardroom and the bedroom.

Kasie Fitzgerald knows who she’s supposed to be. She’s a rising-star-workaholic at a global consulting firm. She’s the fiancée of a well-connected man who’s won the approval of her parents. People know that she’s reliable, serious, proper, cautious, pragmatic, and yes, a little predictable. She’s who Dave and her family want her to be.

But as her thirtieth birthday looms, buried feelings begin to resurrect. Her friend takes her to Vegas for one last wild and crazy night. In a dress much shorter and sexier than anything she has ever dared to wear before, she hits the blackjack tables. And meets him. Under the tailored clothes it’s clear that this is a man who is intense, powerful, and maybe even a little dangerous. With a touch of trepidation she accepts his invitation to get a drink, and before long, she’s in his hotel room.

She never gets his full name. Perhaps his anonymity is one of the reasons she’s able to give herself over to him and to the moment so completely. Perhaps it’s why she’s just had the most exquisite and passionate sex of her life. Shaken by her own behavior, Kasie tries to chalk it up to one crazy night. But when the mysterious gentleman she’s just had a fling with shows up in her office—as the CEO of a firm her company does a billion dollars of business with a year, demanding that she handle his account, and so much more—things will never be the same again. And there’s no telling where this will go…

3 More than One Night Stars

“…when Robert touches me in just the right way, I forget. I forget what it is I want, or rather I forget that I want anything other than him.”

Just one Night is part of the Just One Night series and it can be read as a standalone, but there is a sequel called Just once More. This book was original published in a serial with three books, but is now available in one pretty package.

This review will be tricky for me to write because I do not like cheating in books. So I will be writing this review as someone who is indifferent to cheating. I don’t usually warn readers, but if you have a problem with cheating, then this one is not for you. Meaning, don’t buy this book, then hate it because it has cheating. You have been informed.

Also, it’s not ALL what it seems. You will have to read the book to find out. So even if you have a mild aversion to cheating, you may want to partake on this (I know I said the opposite in my previous sentence, but it makes sense in my head I promise.

Now, if you are fine with cheating, heck even like it or are curious about it, then this one is for you.

Kasie is engaged to Dave. Dave is your typical sweet boyfriend you want to cheat on. He’s dependable, been there for six years and it’s only natural Kasie and Dave want to progress the relationship. Before Kasie gets married she wants to have one last “fling” and by fling she means get her flirt on in Las Vegas. BUT she does more than that. She has a full blown affair with Robert.

So let’s get to it right? The relationship between Kasie and Dave is strained. It seems that Kasie is with Dave out of obligation and because she cares for him, but she’s not in love with him. Davie is the kind of guy you want to be friends with, but you don’t want to rip your panties off for. Everyone kind of supports Kasie in having fun on the side (yes, kind of crazy), but they don’t approve of the affair. That I can agree with.

Kasie is your typical cheating Heroine in the sense, she can’t break it off with Dave because it will break his poor little tiny heart. You feel for her… sort of, but it does add a lot of angst to the story.
Robert is sexy, rich and he doesn’t care that Kasie is engaged. I kind of wondered if she would keep that a secret and I liked she had it out in the open. I liked how Robert pursued Kasie and there is nothing better than reading the Hero chase after the Heroine.

There’s a lot of back and forth between all three characters. Kasie has a complex because she doesn’t want to hurt Dave, yet she can’t stop herself from sleeping with Robert. So she has fun times with Robert, but then feels super guilty. Just when you think she is going to break it off with Dave, something happens.

Like I said earlier, not everything is what is seems and around the 30% mark the book shifts and it changes your perspective on some of the characters. It also becomes a bit more angsty. So if that is your cuppa, you need to read this.

This book has mixed reviews and it’s because of the cheating and angst. If you have a problem with it, don’t read it. But if you don’t have a problem with it, then you will get your fix and then some. It’s super steamy and will let your fantasies go wild.

I wish the 1 star I gave this book represented something more than "did not like it". A 5 star rating is "it was amazing" so imo I think a 1 star should be I "f***ing hated it" or "it was awful".

Let's start with the back of the book. "Gives Fifty Shades of Grey a run for its money...but this novel gives some depth, respect, and sexual tension to the genre."- New York Journal of Books. Uh, no. In no way, shape or form is this book anything like 50 shades. And I didn't like 50 shades that much to begin with. There is no depth or respect. This book sucked. I honestly don't know why people are giving it such high reviews.

Kasie- let's talk about her. My god, what a stupid, stupid woman. Really? You're so afraid that your parents will hate you and compare you to their other drug ridden daughter (who is dead btw)because you cheated on your bf? Really? Grow the f up. It's not like her parents had a billion dollars that she was going to inherit when they died. I get that you don't want to disappoint your parents but you are a grown ass woman. If they can't accept your decisions then you're better off without them.

Continuing on...wtf? So she sleeps with some dude in Vegas and he turns into a client. Neither of them were doing a good job at hiding it (if they even wanted to) but come on. She goes to his office at 8 am and has sex with him. Not any earlier? Because to me, most office hours are 8-5 or 9-6. If you really wanted to keep this "affair" a secret than wouldn't you show up to his office around 5? Not a lot of people are in the office that early. And then Robert. It was like bragging rights to him. Yeah, I f'd her in my office. And then he goes around letting people at her office know that as well? Yeah, it wasn't blatant that he did that but from what happens next, it's just assumed. In fact, after she has sex with him in his office she thinks his secretary heard it all. You think?

And lover? I really don't know anyone who talks like that. "My lover this" or "lover that". Nope, pick a new word.

And Kasie did a complete 180 after meeting him. Now she's feared at the office and doesn't care why people fear her. Her "lover" will take care of anyone who crosses her. That shit pissed me off because she didn't start that way. I get that this is a book of discovery for Kasie but did she have to be such a bitch about it? And then she pictures the gossip- everyone calling her a slut or whore who slept her way to the top. Well, back to my previous point, you could have done a better job at hiding it.

And enough with the imagery. This book could have been at least 150 pages shorter had all that crap been cut out. It was page after page after page of that. We get it!!!

And omg, all those masturbation scenes or daydreams? Enough! Not everyone wants to f you, Kasie. Not everyone is in love with you. And yet she pictures scenes of her and co-workers getting it on in front of her "lover" during a critical business meeting. Not too professional. And Asha....grrr. That bitch pissed me off. I would have cited her for sexual harassment from the first time she even hinted at touching someone inappropriately. There's no way in hell that would have been ok in any office. Yes, sometimes harassment isn't reported but what happened in the story was a bit much and a bit unbelievable.

And again, her daydreams riddled the book so much that I just started skipping pages.

Dave was a douche at the beginning and a douche at the end. I didn't care for Robert either. He annoyed me. Was I supposed to like either of them? I honestly wished Kasie didn't have a HEA because she didn't deserve it at this point and she didn't deserve it with Robert either. She should have moved on with her life and met someone else.

To sum up, this book was long and a drag and I hated it. Save your money or if you want, I'll send you my copy. Burn it after you're done. Such a waste of time. You know, I made a resolution this year to not read anything that contained "if you're a fan of xxx series, you'll love this book!" Well, this is exactly why I should keep that resolution.

Along the lines of all the other 50 Shades style books that have suddenly appeared on the bookshelves, the first half of this book was exactly what it promised to be -- a seductive, heated romance between two people. I thought to myself, “Well, this is going to be a quick, fun ride on a snowy, blowy day.”

Then I started the second act. What the heck happened? The first few pages were spent summarizing act one - that as a reader, you had just finished! Was this originally published in installments? This makes no sense

The main character that I liked so well in the first section was all over the place. First she is a blackmailed submissive, then she is supposedly an educated woman who is going to best those around her, and don’t even get me started on her supposed office etiquette. There is no way that would happen in the real corporate world.

By the time I got to the third act of this book, I had a hard time believing that I could have liked the first few chapters. The journey that this couple’s relationship took was a mess -- much like this book.

I have never wanted a book to end so bad. At first I thought it was promising but as it went on it was like wth? It was hard to follow the thoughts going on in this book. I hated that I only got kasies POV. I hate that I didn't like this book because I really wanted to know Mr. Robert Dade! Just blah. Sucks because the whole premise was so promising! I liked that it wasn't a conventional single man and single woman but a type of betrayal book to finally get mr right

Overall I liked this story. It started out great, super hot! I was intrigued by everything and into Kassie and Robert’s relationship and the drama created with her fiancé Dave. I thought it had a great build but about half way through it started to drag a bit and certain things got to be a bit over the top for me.

It bounced between me really liking it and me having some issues. I would go back and forth between loving Kassie and Robert and not liking them and being super frustrated with them. I loved Robert in the beginning and wanted to know all about him. He was such a mystery and I clung on to everything I learned. By the end however, I felt like he was very surface, I wish he would have had more depth.

It's very much about power, seduction, and self discovery and some parts were awesome, I was hooked and couldn’t read fast enough. Others parts, unfortunately fell flat. It was super hot and sexy and I got their connection in the beginning but it started to dwindle for me at the end.

So basically, I liked it but I had issues with it. I wanted answers, I liked what I got but wish it would have been more. It might have just been me at the time, being put off by things that I wasn’t connecting with. I did like it enough that I’d recommend it and will continue on with the next book in the series when it comes out.

All in all, a good read!

Wow, just wow! This book falls into the Billionaire Erotica subgenre that's so popular right now but unlike all the other ones that follow the normal formula of Billionaire meets lowly average girl and girl eventually brings Billionaire to his knees through the power of her unique normality. This book has two very powerful people and it's all about the power they wield together. Think Crossfire meets Wall street.
So let's start with a bit of a synopsis. Kasey is a Harvard grad, up and coming rising star in her company. She has the perfect life with the perfect boyfriend/fiancé, the perfect family and life couldn't be better or more plain vanilla. Her BFF decides to take her to Vegas to let her hair down and make sure that her current life is what she really wants. She suggests that Kasey sleep with a stranger or at the very least, flirt with one. Kasey, feeling pressured into accepting her boyfriends' forced proposal, she agrees to flirt. While playing Blackjack, she meets a handsome stranger. They spend the night together and Kasey leaves Vegas with a dirty little secret and for once, she feels alive. Thinking Vegas was a onetime thing, she goes to work on Monday like nothing is wrong but then she's informed that her company has a new client, their biggest to date, and the client is crediting her with landing the account. Speechless, Kasey tracks down her boss and finds out the new client is none other than the Vegas stranger.
Kasey now has secrets to hide, hearts to break and decisions to be made. The world of business can be boiled down to a game of chess and her new client has set his sights on her as his new queen. How far would you go for success and power? Would you trash your reputation? Would you sacrifice your dignity? Would you destroy your enemies? What would you give up to make your own rules in your own game?
I'm sure most of you are like me and read to escape reality. I never thought in a million years that an erotic novel would make me think about my own career and give me insight into what possibly is going on behind the scenes. What power plays are happening and how far someone might be willing go to achieve their goals. Don't get me wrong, I'm not naive, I know it happens but damn, this book puts a whole new twist on things. All the games aside, this book is damn sexy as well! Kasey not only has great sex with Robert (the sexy stranger) but the author also delves into the woman's psyche and brings about some crazy fantasies that I know I've had myself on more than one occasion while sitting in meeting or at a bar.
The book itself is broken into 3 parts but if you're like me and live for audio, the audio book consists of all 3 parts. I recommend doing the audio version if you can but if not, make sure you get all 3 parts.
If you want some smart erotica with a billionaire twist, pick this book up.

I don't even know what to say :(
I gave 4 stars beccause there were some good parts in it and I kinda liked Robert. But he could've been so much better and more deeply developed as a character.
This book is more of a 2 or 3 star book. But I just can't give 2 stars because I liked reading it...it took me DAYS to finish and I hated a lot about it.
I hated that love wasn't anywhere in this book. Even though it's supposed to be an erotic romance. There was no romance and the sexy parts were lame. Always the same - exactly the same. And I hated all the weird lesbian vibe all through the story. I hated the heroine's back and forth and her not knowing what she wants and her being scared of this and that ... all so very weird.
And I hated that the author felt the need to prove to the reader that she paid attention in college - all those facts about world history and classical music and flora & fauna etc. All so very strange.
The whole writing style wasn't my thing at all.
Add a bit more love - a bit more depth and more time between Kasie & Robert and this could've been a better book...
It's definitely not something I would recommend for Fifty Shades Fangirls.

But it wasn't totally awful - just almost ;)))) ... if the end would've been different I would've given only 3 stars!!!

Jenn gave me the opportunity to read this book, and after reading the summary I decided to give it a chance. It sounded really interesting, and at the time I was in much need of a change in genres. I was sorely disappointed with the main character and her internal monologue. There are certain things that I can look over depending on the situation of the main character; But I just couldn't deal with Kasie's inability to grow a pair of balls and end things with her fiancee.

Some of the descriptions Kasie uses like comparing her boyfriend to a baked potato, (I get it was suppose to be in a good way) because baked potatoes are comfort food. Don't get me wrong I love baked potatoes, but not when used to describe ones "significant" other. I felt the imagery was all off, it was distracting. The final nail in the coffin for me was when her boyfriend proposed officially and she still accepted after everything she'd done. Even knowing that he wasn't right for her, she still said yes! After that I couldn't keep reading I was so upset at Kasie.

I will however praise the author for writing some of the hottest sexy scenes I have ever read. That first scene when Kasie is in the hotel with the "stranger" is oh so HOTT. I had to think of dirty diapers, and all things sad or gross to get my "need" under control again. This book was definitely not my cup of tea.

DNF - 17%

All I have to say is that I couldn't bring myself to read one more word of this book. Cheating is not sexy. Period.

I don't care if your boyfriend is dull and doesn't really "see" you, I don't care if you're not officially engaged yet, and I REALLY don't care if your best friend justifies your shitty behaviour by telling you that this is the time to explore. If you don't like being with the man you're with then end it, don't sleep with some random creeper you met at a blackjack table.

This book is not worth your time - skip it and find one with characters that you can actually care about and have respect for.

Warning, if you do not like cheating in novels I highly recommend you skip on this one.

Just one night started off great. I was intrigued by the whole Vegas type scene but then things started to go downhill. I had trouble connecting with the characters. This novel had no sense of realism to it.

When reading a novel with a serious trope such as this one I expect compassion coming from the characters. I expect friendships to be put to test and points of reason to be evaluated.

I was disappointed.

I am really glad I didn't read any reviews first! I picked this up for a change of pace from historical romance. Sometimes I like modern romance. The title and description caught my attention.
As many reviewers talk about the cheating aspect, I do not condone and encourage cheating. what she did was wrong, but I think much of this book was about how she agonized about her poor decision, her bad relationship with her boyfriend and her parents, co-workers.
I liked some of the dynamics and twists and turns. The beginning was great, the middle was bizarre, (sex in a bar with people watching?) and unsettling, the way Dave treated her at the dinner. There was some fantasy/dreams/sex that was hard to tell was not actually happening. Robert Dade was like the guy with the power to make or break people's lifes. He enjoyed the power he had. He met his match with Kasi, she really wasn't a submissive person, tough too, but she wasn't being herself either and Robert helped her with that.
I had trouble finishing, but continued after a break due to curiosity.."What happens between Kasi and Robert Dade?" I am glad I finished. I feel like they both broke down walls and true self's emerged.
I never read Fifty Shades books, I don't like "need to scrub your eyes out" erotica and not into S& M. There were some implied lesbian interest, but not in your face. I did skim over a few too descriptive sex scenes!
This was mostly tame enough not to gross me out and Dade was domineering but Kasey was also dominant in personality. Davis writes well enough that I felt immersed in the story and with characters and was emotional in a few places.
I liked it, glad I finally finished it. I feel like Kasi tied up loose ends and made peace with folks
I felt she and Robert had some attraction and chemistry if not based on immoral beginnings. I would read more of their story! So, not all bad if you can look at the psychological /social aspect, work, personal relationships aspects. Sexy scenes that some of us can say we've had fantasy about.

This book points out many of the things that are wrong with the romance genre. First, back up and understand that the popularity of a book such as this is the supposedly real-life scenario of a woman informally engaged to a man whom she’s been dating for six years (longer than many marriages last these days) who seizes the opportunity to have a wild one night stand with an insanely gorgeous wealthy (aren’t they all, these days?) man. The story line speaks to readers whose own lives are certainly no 50 Shades, but thrusts them into Kasie’s wild-but-temporary adventure.

Unfortunately, Kasie makes just about as many stupid decisions as she possibly can, and it almost felt like an insult that the readers are expected to identify with her and cheer for her. Not only does she stay with her fiance long after he begins emotionally and verbally abusing her for her (skanky) indiscretion, but she cannot bring herself to decide what it is she wants out of life.

While billed as sizzling compliment to one very famous work of erotica starring a billionaire control freak, hasn’t that story line been done to death? Even the fans of the genre have cooled in their pursuit of inexplicably wealthy, unattached, youngish men, mostly because the genre just keeps feeding them the same story lines.

What is actually interesting about the book is its long journey to publication. It was written originally as three digital-only stories that have been woven together and made available in print, displaying the power of readers to make a bestseller out of an e-series prior to the publisher investing in paper.

Just One Night was a perfectly pleasant, although tired, read, and is available now.

Just One Night
By Kyra Davis
Kasie Fitzgerald is a business lady, conscious that sexuality will cause her to be dismissed by the general population of a male held industry. She has lived her life very calmly with concise and clear definition of what she can and can't do. Her current lover she has been with for the past six years, loves this detached and distant connection, she is on the pedestal making her a statuesque symbol of virtue. On a dare from one of her closest friends she explores that part of her personality she has suppressed over the years. her life up until know has been defined by white roses, and diamonds. Can Kasie find color and passion in her life... can she be transform her world to the silks of Rubies, and African Violets, or will it overwhelm her to follow this dark intrusion into her ordered world.

I really thought I was in for a fun adventurous read about a rising talented female who throws away a stuffy lifestyle and a boring fiancee for an exciting new passionate love.
more or less that is what happens at first but I honestly thought Kasie was disgustingly pathetic and jumped from one controlling lifestlye to another. I almost considered not finishing the book but I was curious to know who she ended up with or with out. I ended up skipping through most of the boring inner thoughts and descriptions and instead just read through the conversational dialogue. Sadly I even skipped through the raunchy sexy parts, they great at first but soon became repetitive and predictable.
I'll admit I was pleased with the ending and the much needed personal growth of the characters but ultimately I felt the story was pretty weak and uninspiring.

DNF @ 223 pages. There was just so much about this book that made me not want to continue. First of all, the characters fell flat in many ways. I stopped at more than halfway through and I still feel that I barely know any of the characters. What I do know felt very stereotypical and blasé. Robert definitely wasn't developed enough and the characters who could have helped the story along (such as the best friend Simone – who I really liked in the small glimpse we got of her in Vegas) weren't given much of an appearance. I felt like this was trying to fit into the 50 Shades sub-genre and while the writing was overall a huge improvement, everything else (characters, plot, conversations, etc.) fell flat.

i have honestly never felt like crying so hard while reading a book before. And not quite because it was just so emotional and exciting. This was the worst book I've ever read and trust me when i say I've read some bad ones before.

I found this book SO hard to read but once i pick up a book and start it i cant quit it, i just have to finish no matter how good or bad it is... And this trilogy made me want to break that rule way more than i thought possible.

Horrible characters. Horrible logic. Horrible story. I feel sorry for myself.

This book started off ok but then got kind of stagnate but Ms. Davis really picked up the story and the action. I don't condone cheating but I understand Kasey's problem and need to do thing because of obligation. I understood both sides of her and believe it or not I actually understood Dave in his anger and hurt.. However I am happy she finally did what she really wanted to and stepped out of her comfort zone. I really thin everyone should give this book a chance.. I will say the one thing that irritated me most was how she kept doubting herself and fighting what she really wanted to do.

I am sorry to say that this was the worst book I have ever read. Maybe it was because it was told in the first person, Maybe it was because I would have choked out the main character if she had been standing in front of me,

Compelling but thoroughly unlikable main characters, surrounded by more unlikable characters . It took me a while to finish it, but I just had to see if they could redeem themselves. Still not sure they did. 2.5 stars.
