This book is Church history written by Roman Lawyer which covered the Byzantine Empire history between 324 A.D.- 439 A.D. He focused on monastic movement. He opened for me a window to the past. He discussed many famous saints, such as St. Athanasius. And he mentioned many monks, such as St. Anthony, St. Makarios the great and St. Pambo. And finally, Sozomen focused on the emprors of this period Constantine, Constantius, Julian the apostate and Valens.

He has an elegant style that is easy to read. And the translator included a title of each book and chapter.

I think it is a nice reading for those interested in history.
