I have always loved Molly Picon. Of course, I only remember her as an older woman who always played the 'grandmotherly' type. She was delightful in any role she played. I found this book, which was written by Picon, at a used book sale last year. I only bought it because she wrote it. I was surprised to find that the book is really a series of short stories about her own beloved grandmother. Now I can see where she gets it from. Picon's grandmother was a genuine character who enjoyed life and her family, but who always seemed to view things a little differently. She adored her 'Molly Dolly' and the feeling was obviously mutual. Picon's wit and affection shine through. It was just good, old-fashioned story-telling at its best. And to my surprise when I opened the book, I found that Molly Picon had actually signed it! This one is a keeper!
