Amaris Brimwood knows what's expected of her. She's the heir to the Seventh Star, and as her Sire grows closer to retirement, Ris' time as Queen is fast approaching.
Between honing her skills to lead her people and fighting the omega-leadership bias, her mother's pleas to find a Mate before she ascends the throne fall on deaf ears. Ris is not looking for anything that will distract her from her duties—certainly not two Alphas nicknamed the Terror Twins.
Yogi Sweetwater and Sage Starquist couldn't be more different. Yogi is a walking tragicomedy, and Sage hardly takes a break from frowning to laugh at her best friend's jokes. After returning from a two-year outstation posting along the borders, the Alphas find themselves in a distinctly uncomfortable situation with Ris in the center. The three of them are scent-compatible, and try as they might, the connection between them is undeniably electric.
The only problem is—there's never been a Royal Nest before.
As the Mates try to navigate their relationship without exposing their newfound love, trouble brews in the Royal family. Ris is used to biased opposition from her court—after all, she's the first omega Queen to ascend the throne.
But when her opponent is her Alpha sister, things get a little more complicated. And a lot more heartbreaking.
Yes, I read F/F omegaverse. However, I find this concept has often been used as a quick erotic novella with a ridiculous plot that makes my eye roll.
That said, I truly feel blessed to have Lily X and Lexa Luthor on our side to deliver not just one full-length of great omegaverse sapphic romance but a whole bunch of series. They took this concept to a whole new level in the sapphic community imo.
I enjoy the world of the Seventh Stars that Lily X had created. I’m emotionally invested in each main character, and I can’t wait to read the sequel!
Omegaverse is not for everyone, and it’s okay if you don’t like it. But if you ever want to jump out of your comfort zone, Lily X and Lexa Luthor’s books are always the safe place to indulge.
"Heaven existed, and it was in the arms of my mates."
Lily X delivers again with a captivating, spicy, and overwhelming sweet romance!
The character writing in this one was phenomenal, with all three of our characters showing beautiful character development and complexity.
Amaris Brimwood: A true Queen, with a strong heart and a curiosity for the world around her, for a true love that lives beyond the barriers of her duty as future leader of High Nestia. It was wonderful watching her come to a sense of peace with her two Mates and seeing her burst out of her carefully calculated shell was just......💕💗💞
Sage Statquist: The anchor ⚓️ of this loving trio. She feels so deeply, yet due to the expectations that surround her, she constantly tries to compress her feelings so she doesn't get hurt, but mostly so she doesn't hurt the ones she loves. But she's protective at her core and no matter how much she tried to deny it, she couldn't hold in her true feelings for these two and her growth was perfect. "Because if I apologize, Aunt Aeryn, it'll invalidate what we have, and I swore to myself I would protect these two, no matter what."
Yogi Sweetwater: The sweetest, most loving, free-spirited Alpha of all of High Nestia! She was the true heart and soul of this romance. With her constant reassurance and strength even through the challenges that surfaced in their relationship. She fought for their love with everything in her and she was just such a beautiful character. Just overall a perfect 🥰 woman. "I would worship you, Amaris Brimwood, if you let me."
"If you love us," she began, stroking Sage's skin. "Then fight for us."
The chemistry and passion between the three of them was electric and excellently balanced, with constant communication and vulnerability, you couldn't deny that with each other they were at home. And Lily X does a great job of weaving their love story with their own personal journeys.
Not just that but the plot was incredibly easy to follow but still super engaging, with a great mix of political intrigue, and tension.
Overall probably my second favorite book in this series! 4.5 Stars 🌟🌟🌟🌟✨️
this book was the equivalent to discovering your FAVORITE song on an album from the first listen alone!! i just KNEW!! i did NOT want this to end & i'm truly saddened that i managed to read 600+ pages & still managed to be unsatisfied. just greedy 😭😭 i loved loved loved yogi, sage & amaris together so so so so so muchhh! everything about this felt like i was being wrapped in the comfort of a familiar, satisfying & pleasurable scent. i'd shout from the mountain tops about the SMUT!!! like the SMUTTT???? THE SMUTT!!!!!! this was so queer and so absolutely DELICIOUS. they merged sooo freaking well as a nest. they were their own distinct personalities, this was written so beautifully. i'm afraid i'm going to have a hard time letting this one go.
i would give up my left tit to read about caira & aran. i NEED it. like oxygen. immediately! 💳💥💥💥
Heads up: Once again, far more dicks than you would expect in a sapphic novel. If you don’t know what Omegaverse is then give it a quick google before you read this novel. This may not be for you, although ill say that it was a lot less strange than I expected.
For the third time (out of three in the series so far) this novel was awesome. This book has everything and is nicely balanced between characters, plot, drama, and heartwarming goodness (and spice). Amazing characters that were well developed and vivid on the page. A plotline that gives you enough to be invested in without stealing the spotlight in the story; as these are all character-driven stories for sure. Strange yet interesting worldbuilding where I honestly am not sure how this world works, yet its never confusing or an issue (really good choice by the author IMO). These novels are incredibly good, to cut right to the point. Bonus points for the body neutrality/acceptance representation, as well as tackling some serious real-world issues through a fantasy lens that made it accessible and avoided being heavy handed or distracting from the story.
Of course there is also the spice. The author themselves mentions in the forward that they like not being beholden to a publisher so they can add a staggering amount of spicy content all through the novel. There wasn’t just a lot, it was very well done as well.
There were a few things that were not perfect; there was a strange timeskip that left me disoriented but it wasn’t that long or that difficult to follow. There are also certainly some heavy sequel-bait sections which I don’t mind because ill be reading them, but if I wasn’t then I wouldn’t appreciate the strange extra plotlines that are started without resolution (not enough to really be an issue though). At the start of this novel I was confused who some of the characters were, given the 22 year timeskip following book 2 and the fact that I’m bad at names, but I was able to easily figure it out by looking back briefly.
The Omegaverse is a rich, wide open space for writers and fans to explore, and I love it. I was disappointed in this book because the portrayal of the Alpha/Omega dynamic was too one sided for me. Ris was too passive, something to be used and filled, not someone with her own agency to fill her own wants and desires. Yogi's submissive side was emphasized in her relations with Sage, instead of having what I would consider two Alphas really engaging with one another. Also, what is the point of F/F relationships when the Alphas are just all about the shaft? I like Lexa Luthor much better - her female Alphas are not always presenting with a penis there is much more variety of sexual expression, including good old fashioned girl on girl sex without the g!p. Finally, why list the sexy parts of your book in the front with links to those sections? Let us find them as we read the whole book! Not sure you're doing yourself a service by offering shortcuts to readers who might just skip around the book instead of reading it through. This one is not for me.
lowkey delirious from binging this book in 2 days but it was absolutely worth it.
i can gush about the central romance for hours okay. the small exchanges and the “you feel like home” moments UGH!!!!!!! love is real guys!!!!!! i’m obsessed. i loved all three main characters so damn much and i think the author did a perfect job of actually making you feel the equal love passed around and as though if one member wasn’t there, it wouldn’t be the same. plus, the sex scenes were 10/10.
but even romance and sex aside, the plot was unironically so good and what truly hooked me in. i’m genuinely invested in all the other characters and their dynamics with everyone, the world they rule over and how this whole saga is going to conclude. the writing is simple but hella effective (i am once again reminding you, this book got me to read 600 pages in two days). again, im obsessed!
despite the fact that i jumped into a series basically in the middle, i never felt left out and had such a blast! now i’m gonna run — not walk — to read the first two books and eagerly await the arrival of the others!
I lowkey thought this was perverted,I mean they knew her since she was a child and that gave me a weird feeling. I kinda want an omega who has more control yk like I want slow burn or whatever. Amaris is though a backstabbing bitch no offense✋🏾 Like I would dump her as a friend if she did me like that. To be honest the only reason I continued was for my sweet Yogi. ☝🏾
I would be the first to tell you that not only am I “new” to the Omegaverse (except that I was unknowingly introduced to it Keira Michele Telford the author of “Come, my Pet”~well it’s Futanari ~close enough as somewhat cousins as I would say) but also not a fan of “throuples” or more than one mated pair. I instantly get rubbed the wrong way when I start seeing, well reading the stirrings of another love interest being added. However, this story starts with “all” three coming to this at the same time and nothing only shared between the two first. I think it allowed my brain to to expand and see it build from the start and organically grow. And my heart and mind synced with the telling of this love story.
I know this story is about Amaris and a queendom! But it feels as if none of this was possible without Yogi. Yogi was the key and the glue. She was the lifeblood of this connection. She was an Alpha akin to any type of alpha I would ever want to be associated with. Ris called her the “soft alpha.” And it was very apropos. Sage appeared to be the typical alpha that needed the kind of alpha that Yogi was to see how it is to be an alpha and full of emotions and a high emotional IQ. Even higher than our omega Ris. Ris was a little similar to Jaid/Jamie in that no one saw her a weak. She didn’t even give a weak vibe. She was sound and resolute in all her dealings. She was the “alpha” of the relationship. Yogi was the best beta/omega as the glue. And Sage was truly open hearted and protective alpha of the relationship. Her bond with Yogi was probably the ONLY reason why and how this “nest” could work or exist. She’d hurt and bleed for it.
This is the best story of the series thus far IMO. We got to see more important people I this story and some unfinished business.
What will happen when Art finds out what Aeryn did behind her back? What happens with the double sets of pups? Will there be a division? What fate will befall Avani? Will Aran be wed or will Aissa throw a kink in this plan for peace? Why didn’t we see Zanny confront Ris? What happens to the friendship? Where is the Dowager? What and who is Caira? Issadora?
This book is so worth all the pages in it. I read it in 24 hours. I couldn’t stop nor could I put it down to get anything done.
At the 50% mark, I cursed myself for devouring it so quickly. It was so easy to get wrapped up in the pheromones of this royal nest and lose track of the outside world! This is an excellent addition to the Seventh Star world and makes me want to go back and reread the others. Big kudos to the author for creating another delicious, sweet & spicy omegaverse story. Can’t wait to read the next one!
Well, this was definitely my second favourite out of the three of the books I have read so far. The politics was delicious. The characters - especially Yogi - were well written. I love that we always have recurring characters in every book, and how you can tell which characters are going to be in the upcoming book. These books are so fast-paced to read, and always get me out of a reading slump. Devoured this in a day. Still adjusting to the Omegaverse, as this is the first time I've read anything like that until this series, but I'm enjoying it and have a lot of respect for this genre/fandom.
Yogi. That's the review. Yogi has my heart, my soul and everything else she could ever want. I already know she's the best character in the series even though I haven't yet read all the books.
Okay so for real now...I've been eating this series up. I really wasn't sure before reading if I'd be into omegaverse because I just never heard of it but it's safe to say after 3 books in 6 days that Lily X's writing works for me.
Positives: - Yogi - Alpha/Alpha/Omega mating scene was chef's kiss - plot was strong with this one - hate Avani but I know I'll love her by the end of her book - meaningful encounters with the OG characters from the first 2 books which a lot of authors ignore - have to mention Yogi again. Love that we got a strong fem softie Alpha who is so open and cute.
Negatives: - I felt like the love wasn't equal until the last chapter? What it felt like to me: Ris was more into Sage who was more into Yogi who was into both equally. - don't really like Ris. She betrayed her best friend, didn't even tell her and was just ehh. Most of the real emotional shit came from Yogi and Sage's povs too. - would've loved to see Yogi in her rut - we haven't had a rut scene since book 1 and come on it's Yogi - no marking scene just casually mentioned at the end?😭
This was really really good and I enjoyed it (I mean I read it in a couple hours). But one thing that bugged me as the chapters went by was that Ris felt like such a bystander in the relationship in my opinion. The yearning and love between Yogi and Sage was done so well and fleshed out and I loved them. But when it got to Ris’ pov I wasn’t feeling the same. Maybe it’s just me but despite her being the main character (at least I think she was), her pov lacked everything. Yes the lust was strong in the throuple but honestly Ris seemed like such an afterthought most times. That was what threw me off the most and if I’m being real if the story involved just Yogi and Sage it would’ve been 5 ⭐️
Besides all of that, was a very interesting spin on the OV genre and I definitely want to read more books like this.
I was so addicted at first and then I couldn't help but notice that we don't have any one on one love scene between Sage and Ris or that when it's Sage's pov she always seems to be around Yogi or thinking about her or that she's the only one she says "I love you" to or that she only thinks very romantically about Yogi... that brushed me the wrong way as they are in a "nest". Besides that it was good, it had everything I love in abo. The plot could have been a bit more developed but I don't really mind it in a romantasy. Yogi is such a perfect character, I adore her. I didn't know this was part of a series so that's why I began with the third one lol but I'll be reading the first one soon!
Not really a review. I don’t review but I HAD to for this. More like a heartfelt plea! Minor spoilers if you haven’t read.
I have devoured the first 3 books in this series. I just finished I’m Yours. Whew!!! 🥵😮💨😮💨 Hot. Just….hot. This is hands down my favorite pairing/grouping. There’s something about the way Sage calls Yogi “baby” that is sending me. *swoon* Also, “alpha and omega mine”?! Yes please to that claiming. 😍😈
Lily, I know you have other books to write and publish but before you make this trio parents can we explore their courtship more? Please don’t let it end here. What happened when they made the announcement? In the Wrath of the King, Zoei made several points I think should be explored for your queer audience. Doesn’t have to be terrible but it gives us something to root for. How would Sage and Yogi prepare for it because Yogi would be hella excited?
Is there a possibility for supplemental short story (or book 😉🙃) about Art coming around to their Union and allowing them to be mated? Finally giving the mating marks and knotting (who gets knotted). Do Sage and Yogi have mate marks too? Did it happen all at once? Also, how Sage and Ris help Yogi with her insecurities about her “place” in the nest and society? When Sage told Yogi “she’s their world” it was probably the most heartfelt thing she could’ve said to her. I felt that. 🥰🥰
Also, this wedding and the lead up to the wedding! REALLY REALLY REALLY wanna know how all that went down. Pretty pretty PRETTY please!!! 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾 Goddess have mercy!
I've just finished this book and Lily X has done it again! I am so invested in the Seventh Star and all the characters we meet, a real testament to Lily for the world building, the character development and the plot. This one had me on edge then heartbreak because I just know how Art and Aeryn would've taken the breakdown of their little family, my heart breaks for them, especially for Aran, poor sweet boy. That scene where he reunites with Aissa was too bittersweet. Now onto Ris, Sage & Yogi...I've never read a book about a throuple before so I was curious how it would be executed. I think while their coming together could be explained away with scent compatibility, the deep dive into their personalities and how they each process their feelings was what really kept me engaged. Ris thinks about responsibility to the crown first but is also open and curious about sex, Sage is a closed book and bears responsibility on her shoulders like nobody's business and Yogi is the carefree and sensitive glue that holds their nest together. Sweet sweet Yogi is the MVP, she is my heart and soul and I want her to have all the pancake in syrup she could ever hope for.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
It doesn't feel as long as it really is, which feels weird to say about a ~150k-word book. Each chapter had its place.
Actually, it could use a few more pages and cover some of the things that made me dock that final point off from my rating. The main antagonist appearances in the book is disproportionate to the weight of her actions (and their consequences) in the story. That conversation with Art after the climax of the story should've been written into the book. I needed the closure.
I still appreciated its unhurried nature, though. I enjoyed how the three main characters seem to be caught up in their own little bubble until those rare moments when the real world gives them a reality check. It gives it a low-stakes feel, to be honest, which I find I didn't really mind. To my memory, it's also the first time I've read of . Overall, I liked the book.
I’m kind of back dating here because I realized I never actually wrote a review for this.
Another great installment to the series. I enjoyed the idea of the nest instead just a normal couple. As always the storytelling is great. While I come to these books for the spice, I ALWAYS stay for the plot. I enjoyed getting to read about the terror twins since the last time we heard of them was in book two, Never Yours.
🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ five chili hot because the creativity is present in each book. I find a lot with a series that an author will put the same scenes in each one which can make for a boring experience. I’m glad this is not the case here.
I swear to god this series just keeps getting better and better. We'd gotten little hints of Yogi in the first book and Sage in the second so the jump to see them both at 30 was a surprise, especially when we left off with Jamie (Jaid) and Thea handling their pregnancy with triplets.
Even though the book ends with a betrayal and lord I both don't want to read her book but also cannot WAIT for it, I really love how all these people have come together to just become a giant family. I absolutely love found family and this is absolutely it.
But AHEM. EXCUSE ME LILY?! That ending with Yogi!?! 🤣🤣
I really enjoyed the first two books in this series but felt like this one fell short. The other books had such character development, storyline and world building, this one felt less focused/cohesive. While I enjoyed the characters especially Yogi, I felt like I didn’t see much of their relationship; the bulk of it where they finally start spending time together and falling for each other was skipped and it was just mentioned that they saw each other every weekend. The plot of Amaris’ sister felt incomplete but I guess there’s an Avani redemption arc otw. All in all not bad but definitely not as good as the first two.
The poly chemistry did not appeal to me. I skipped most of the first half of the book because it was making me cringe. But I needed context to get to the next book[s] in the series. I wanted to see how evil Avani is and how she ? may ? be redeemed in book 5. The last half or this book which actually involved plot rather than spice was surprisingly moving. I'm now ready to move on to Avani's next chapter.
Lily X has yet again created a great story to add to the Seventh Star series. It was nice to read more about Art and Aeryn's life after their book and the romance between Sage, Yogi, and Ris. There was everything from romance to a surprise twist. Definitely looking forward to the next book.
I have to say this is the first time I've read a series of books that actually gets better and better each book. I mean, yes, the sex seance are hot, but the plot is amazing. The charter development is spot on. Emotions pour off the pages, and you are sucked into the characters' lives. I absolutely loved this book.
a rare f/f omegaverse that despite its length is very easy to binge and does not always fall into some of my issues with omegaverse. this one is a a/a/o triad that does not neglect any of its pairings nor does it confine one of its alpha to her role. while the writing is simple its very effective and did not turn me off at all but rather is very effective in letting you breeze through the story
