Teaching and Learning Grammar: Insights from English Profile

Rate this book
This volume provides an accessible overview of English Profile research into learning grammar and its application to teaching. Teaching and Learning Grammar introduces different strands of research into English grammar as part of the English Profile project. These strands are investigating how learners progress through the levels of the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR). CEFR levels are currently illustrated in functional terms with 'Can Do' statements but once we know more about the specific grammatical properties of English which learners acquire at each level, these can be presented to learners more efficiently and in ways that are appropriate to their needs. The volume looks at applications of the research to teaching, with practical examples, models and advice.
