About the author

Brian Azzarello (born in Cleveland, Ohio) is an American comic book writer. He came to prominence with 100 Bullets, published by DC Comics' mature-audience imprint Vertigo. He and Argentine artist Eduardo Risso, with whom Azzarello first worked on Jonny Double, won the 2001 Eisner Award for Best Serialized Story for 100 Bullets #15–18: "Hang Up on the Hang Low".

Azzarello has written for Batman ("Broken City", art by Risso; "Batman/Deathblow: After the Fire", art by Lee Bermejo, Tim Bradstreet, & Mick Gray) and Superman ("For Tomorrow", art by Jim Lee).

In 2005, Azzarello began a new creator-owned series, the western Loveless, with artist Marcelo Frusin.

As of 2007, Azzarello is married to fellow comic-book writer and illustrator Jill Thompson.

I gave up with the idea of expecting too much for consistency with the Warchmen book and accepted Before Watchmen: Comedian as just a generic entertaining piece.

There were really tense moments on this here. Fortunately, issue five improves so much from the previous one, showing Eddie Blake as a conflicted character. You see him as a conflicted person, an anti-hero sociopath who takes patriotism to the extreme with no remorse to anybody who he perceives as an enemy.

Issue six seems to be promising now. (I have read this in 2012 but I totally forgot how Comedian ended.)

Should I have read the other 4 books leading up to this? Probably. Was this one for research? Yes. Despite the really heavy and sometimes-hard-to-look at images, I liked the story and this bond between Blake and William. That being said, I should probably go read the other ones, and then finally dig into Watchmen.

Well. That was gory as hell. And confirmed my suspicions from the poorly-composed book #4. I have a sneaking thought, based on my knowledge of the era and the teaser ending of this book, that I know something that the Comedian will do in book 6. Guess we'll find out...

best issue so far in the whole series i was starting to doubt that iam the reason but looks like iam not these guys can create better comic and story but they wernt at the top of their game for sure
