Bree Taylor is engaged to the love of her life, Kent Ward. Everything between them was perfect until it wasn't. The wedding planning hasn't happened, and something seems to be missing. They agree that all they need is a break to help them fall in love again. But when something unexpected happens to Bree's father, she returns to her hometown. A place she hasn't been in years. When Bree finds herself on the doorstep of someone from her past, she's left with more questions about her life than answers.
Ummm. Hi. I wrote this and I love it. It may be my favorite one yet but I say that with all my books. Anyways you should read it because who doesn’t love a man who makes a wildflower field for the woman he loves 🩵
Bree Taylor feels like she has it all; an amazing best friend in Rell, a dream job in the fashion industry, a busy LA social life and a hunky fiancè in Kent. She's sacrificed a lot to get to where she is, including the love of the man she always thought would be her forever: Brooks Ledger.
But when Kent unexpectedly moves out and in the same week her father has an accident, Bree finds herself returning to her hometown. Confronted by the man she walked away from, will Bree be able to deny her heart again? Or will Brooks prove to her that she belongs by his side, in the life they dreamed up together?
I was lucky enough to read this for @hollywhitwrites prior to its release and fell in love with Brooks 💙 WHAT A MAN! If you want to swoon over a book boyfriend who will do whatever it takes to prove that he's the one, then look no further! I refuse to give anything away, but let's just say that their connection is 🔥
If you like wildflowers, wine and a second chance hometown romance then look no further! This book is available now on KU and paperback and I can't wait to hear what you think 😍
This book is definitely my favorite one thus far. I loved reading about Bree and her growth, all the parts that made me cry, and just Bree and Brook's whole story. I'm not good at reviews so please, just read it!
Finally we get Bree’s story! And it was worth the wait.
Bree now lives in LA and works at Threads. Her relationship with Kent is falling apart but she doesn’t realize how unhappy she is in the relationship until her Dad has a farm accident and she rushes home to see him.
7 years ago she left someone behind, and she has to face not saying goodbye to him.
They try to say goodbye but the magnetic attraction is too strong. He has done so much for her, without her knowing.
Read for: 🙌🏼 supportive friends 💞 second chances 🍷 vineyards 🤠 rural setting 🐎 riding horses 💐 fields of wildflowers ❤️🔥 spicy & sweet scenes 💓 no 3rd act breakup
Wow. This book was incredible! I love Bree and Brooks, so freaking much. Friends to lovers and second chance romance! Yes, please! Holly did such an amazing job with this book, I was hooked immediately! I fell in love with the characters and the setting, and this book will forever live rent-free in my head ❤️

This book was so amazing. I have never read a book written so well that it makes me feel so strongly both sad and happy at the same time. I was in literal tears wanting to be happy for Bree but also sad for Bree. “Perfection doesn’t exist, we all have flaws”….this book does not have flaws. This book is the definition of perfection when it comes to true love. If you haven’t already, go meet Rell and Jansen (the strange not a killer) in Over the Fence. Bree and Rell’s friendship is just completely amplified in Not Over You and I’m so envious of how close they are. Rell and Bree are home.
Not Over You is the much anticipated follow up to Over the Fence where we get to see Bree's happily ever after. And it's the sweetest one I've read from Holly yet!
Bree left behind her old town 🚜, her old life 🐎, and her first love 💘 when she decided to travel and explore the world. She meant to go back, but she never did. Until now. When a family emergency draws her back to her hometown, she sees her first love, Brooks, again, and he hasn't changed a bit. He's been waiting for her to come back, and he's ready to pick up right where they left off. Is Bree ready for that? Or is her life in LA more what she wants now? 🤔
(This is a sequel and can be read as a standalone, however, I would recommend you read Over the Fence first because there's a lot of spoilers for Rell and Jansen's relationship and you'll be playing catch up with Bree's past a bit.)
I loved this sweet story! Diving into Bree's story was so much fun - and Brooks? He's the BEST main guy you could ask for. Total cinnamon roll! He planted a field of wildflowers for her to run through, for goodness sake!🌻And he wasn't even sure she'd come back - but damn if he wouldn't be ready! What a hopeless romantic he is! I love it, because SAME. 🥰
So, go read Over the Fence - and if you've done that, what I'm the world are you waiting for? Go read this one! You won't regret it. 😉😘
Trigger warning: serious injury (father, off page)
Release Date: Out now! Available in KU?: Yes! Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💫 Spice: 🌶🌶
Bree lives in LA, is engaged to her boyfriend Kent, and works with her best friend Rell. She is having a great time in her life, but Bree and Kent aren’t really seeing eye to eye with each other. She is always busy working and when she is at home, Kent is working. They are engaged and haven’t even planned their wedding. At some point, they decided to take a little break and when they do, Bree gets a phone call that her dad has had an injury at the farm.
Bree’s family only lives an hour away from her, but she hasn’t really stopped by or visited them. She left everything behind to travel and live the life she is currently living.
When she comes home, she learns that her exboyfriend, Brooks, was the one who found her dad injured. This really drums up old feelings.
Does Bree stay in her hometown that she left behind or does she go back home to the life she’s always wanted?
This was such a sweet story to read. It was really enjoyable and like always, Holly’s books always put you in a good mood! I also wanted to mention that I love Loosey Goosey!
Talk about meant to be story and this is it! I love Bree and Brooks love story! It might not be the right time for them 7 years ago but the reunion was perfect! And, BROOKS!! He’s a real cinnamon roll and a hopeless romantic (bc SAME 🥰)! Find you a man who builds you a freaking WINERY! And they weren’t even together! Who does that?! Who?! This man’s patience is no other! He is also sincere and kind. Their chemistry is just 🤌🏼!
Holly did such an amazing job with the setting and the story of this book! The winery setting was something I really love! And the ending was 🥰. Definitely a favorite book of hers to date!! Can’t wait to read her next book!
Okay, so I enjoyed Over the Fence but I really enjoyed Not Over You so much more! I feel like Holly’s writing really improved with this one, I was invested in the characters. I loved their little side stories.
Brooks is like ultimate book boyfriend, the goals of a man, he does everything for her 🥺 oof love me a man who loves his girl and loves her enough he will let her go 😭😭
Bree was accurately confused on what to do, go back to the life she left and leave the life she’s made now or stay where she’s made her career and best friends and leave the love of her life behind? (She chose well in my opinion)
Bree is engaged to Kent and everything was going perfectly…until it wasn’t. Wedding planning has halted and issues beneath the surface are starting to come to light. After Bree’s father is unexpectedly in the hospital, Bree returns home to a place and a person she thought she left in her past.
As soon as I started reading this I wanted to cry, and that feeling never went away!😭 This is the second book in the By the Threads series. The first book Over the Fence, followed Rell and this book follows Bree (I’m hoping we get a Felicia and Shea book too!!).
It’s a second chance romance and childhood friends to lovers set at a vineyard the MMC built for the FMC. He build her a freakin winery people!🍷 I absolutely loved the characters and everything about this book. I kept picturing the winery in the Parent Trap was so here for it!
This is my favorite book by the author so far! She just keeps producing THE best romances. 💕
Dreams were planted and grew into reality. However the dreams were made by two but only one remains. An accident brings Bree home for the first time in 7 years and the trajectory of her life changes. She realizes there may be more to her small hometown than she realized. I loved this one! This is the second book in the threads series. Both books are so good. I fell in love with Bree and Brooks. They are characters I think about even now that I'm done with the book. I think about the vineyards, cabins, and horses. It's a story that sticks with you.
It’s 1 am and I literally just finished this book but I absolutely loved it. One of the best books I’ve ever read. I’m just in an emotional black hole at the moment, so stay tuned and I’ll come back to add an actual review when I’ve collected myself 🥹🫶🏻 BUT DEFINITELY READ IT GUYS LIKE NOW🩵 k I’m going to sleep now bye!✌🏻🌚
I want someone to love me like Brooks loves Bree. This book was one of the my most anticipated read of this year, and this book did. Not. Disappoint. Bree and Brooks are so cute 😭😭💘 Brooks is THE standard. Their story was so emotional. I loved the female friendship in this book (I want to see Rell and Bree raise their children together 😭😭).
The second book in this series was amazing. Sometimes things happen for a reason. A broken engagement, a medical emergency involving her father leads to Bree going home, and an encounter with her past. Brooks brings up some feelings that Bree has trouble letting go of, but does she really want to or is she willing to give their relationship a second chance. Holly I loved this book.
The settings throughout this book alone could earn this book a great rating. I loved the winery and the significance of it. I loved the characters and their interactions with each other. This book really was just a great time! I can’t wait to read more of Whitworth’s works!
This was such a fun book to read! Brook's and Bree are amazing characters. I enjoyed reading Bree's journey and love how much she grew as a person. Brook's is a total heart throb! He is a perfect gentleman and I am in love with all that he does for Bree. I want a man to plant me a field of wild flowers!! 🌺 The goose was a cute addition to this story! 🪿
Wow! Completely captivated by another one of Holly’s book. This is the second chance, feel-good romance that we all dream about. I absolutely loved the story of Bree and Brooks, while also getting a continuation of Bree and Rell’s friendship. 🫶🏼
Holly Whitworth writes such cozy feel good romcoms. They're the perfect feel good read. Not Over You is a super cute second chance, it's always been you romance! I love Bree's character growth and also hers and Rell's friendship is amazing and I loved seeing that girlfriend support.
I read (and loved) Over the Fence earlier this year and was very excited when Holly announced that Bree's book was coming soon!
This was a story of second chances and truly discovering the meaning of home. I loved how Holly wrote this story. It flowed so well and kept me wanting to read more and find out the ending. I was rooting so hard for Brooks and Bree!
I absolutely swooned at how Brooks loved Bree. He never wanted to hold her back and built the winery for her (it felt very The Notebook, IYKYK). I also really enjoyed Rell and Bree's friendship. They are such supportive and loving friends to each other. I definitely recommend picking this one up soon! It's Holly's best work yet!

""I guess part of me just forgot about this part of my life. But now that I’m here and this is happening, it all feels….” “Like you’re in a dream,” I interrupt. “Like this is where I’m supposed to be right now. This moment doesn’t feel out of place and awkward as it should after all these years. But instead, it feels like I’ve known this place all along.” Like home."
Even though this is normal narrators. I did enjoy the story!! It was so nice to see how much of the story grow. And also how much you grow to love Bre!!
