This one didn't win me over. He came off more of an asshole than just an alpha-hole. It's a fine line. Plus, he had sex with hookers right after he proposed to her.

Bella (21, virgin) is trying to prove to her father that she's competent enough to take over as mafia leader. She plans to hack into Vlad (40-ish, mafia king) accounts and steal his money. She succeeds, he's impressed with her skills, decides to marry her. He admits he's attracted to her, but he just says and does mean shit to her. Like I said, right after he proposes, he goes and has sex with a hooker. That's mainly why this fic lost me. Plus, the plot is very predictable and the writing isn't great. Oh - and they only had sex one time. Blah to that.

This follows Bella 21 who is a part of the Italian Mafia and her father is the Don. Her father doesn’t really let her be involved so she takes matters into her own hands and tries to get back what the Bratva stole. Vlad is 40 head boss of the Bratva well known and a force to be reckoned with especially when it comes to being crossed by a brunette beauty…

I did enjoy this fast-paced mafia read. Fast-paced is not my style but this plot kept me engaged. It is short, only 164 pages and only so much you can fit in. I will say though the FMC Bella is strong for most parts of this book but she did break down emotionally a handful of times as well. The spice was fast-paced just like the plot so we sped through it. Also, I guess the major twist at the end so wasn’t shocked by the reveal of who is responsible for her father’s death. Overall this book was a good read for something dark, and short with engaging plot.

Majorly a cover read, because the cover is pretty and the prospect of a revenge bride sounded good but:

The hero in this book is a giant man child, who kisses the tip of his gun and calls every woman in his vicinity a whore.
The writing is a little wack, gotta say it how it is.

Also he proposed (should have been demanded to fit better) marriage to her then went straight home and demanded to see a different woman as he needed his release…

The Bratva’s Revenge Bride by Rina Lawson was an absolutely passionate, sensually hot, intriguing story with mystery and secrecy that will have you on the edge of your seat as all of the action the author has packed into it unfolds. I read it in one sitting without being able to stop. I loved Bella for her strong sense of self, commitment, and loyalty to Vlad, and need to prove herself capable in a man’s world. Her preparation for her role of one day assuming her father’s throne was impressive and relatable, as were his old-fashioned notions that women are not capable of the strength needed to head a Bratva organization. And Vlad, after initially wanting to knock him on the head a couple of times for being typically alpha, grew on me to the point that I saw why Bella’s feelings for him took many turns. Vlad and Bella’s chemistry is a palpable thing when they interact in the novel, and they both recognize and compartmentalize it from the other pieces of their relationship. This Bratva story is my first read by Ms. Lawson and I was pleasantly surprised, enjoying the intricate relationships of the all the factions opposing one another and attempting to undermine each other’s progress on different levels…and it all worked. Ms. Lawson knows how to weave a tale that will keep the reader glued to the pages from start to end. This is decidedly a MUST- read story!

Show no fear

Rough and tough Bella tried to get her father to realize why his organization was weakening, but he still refused to listen to reason. Vlad, head of the Bratva, was tired of her Italian Mafia interference. Bella was able to keep her father's organization afloat due to her computer hacking skills. Her skills lead her to the wrong place.

I loved Bella's fearlessness, but she knew when she needed help.

Storyline great

I actually enjoyed the story and characters. However, the constant repeating of first and last names during conversations between all characters was extremely irritating. Even though this is a story of fiction, Those conversations where they kept stating each others whole names made those parts seem fake, like in a movie with poor quality acting. I think if would be amazing to go thru and correct those areas so it would seem like real conversations.

It was good

I liked it enough that I finished it, but I wasn’t even six chapters in and I already knew what was gonna happen. If you’re reading mafia romance, then this will just be another generic and overused plot. However, the characters were nice to read about so it does still have some intrigue. The age gap is pretty big and the heat isn’t so hot. All in all it was just an OK read. I will be continuing the series though.

One go read Mafia Romance

This is my first book of Rina Lawson, and I admit it didn't impress me much. Had to leave it at 50%, the repeated main character names aren't appealing to read at all.
Also, the romance felt forced between the leads. The relationship between Vlad and his men also felt very immature. Overall, a one sitting rush read for me

Fun and exciting Mafia intrigue and romance

I truly enjoyed Vlad's resistance and then willingness to express his new feelings. He was a really tough guy at the beginning, then learned that it was alright to express his feelings. I came to appreciate his caringness. I recommend this book. She is a really good writer.
