Rate this book
Fated mates. A rranged marriage … Can it work between an Incubus -- and an Angel ?

Since I was very young, I’ve been scraping by. Handouts, charity, pity. That’s how I survive. My life is a predictable mess. But I have hope. I will work hard, and one day it will be better. While I’m on my hands and knees scrubbing the floors at my job, a gorgeous man shows up. I risk everything to have one moment with him. Of course, I get fired.

It’s worth it. But once again, I'm left with nothing – until I find out that everything I believed to be true is wrong. I’m not a human. I’m an Angel. I’m whisked away into a breathtaking new existence. To my shock, it’s far more dangerous than my old life. That gorgeous man who got me fired is a demon – not just any demon, but an incubus who needs a wife. The Angels propose an arranged marriage . They claim it will keep us both safe. Me ? With an incubus? I've never even been with a man before. The incubus vows to be my protector , but I don’t want his help. I hardly know him, and I don’t trust him. But what choice do I have, when all of us are under siege?

Goofy and Spicy
I liked this book for the most part although I probably wouldn't recommend it to someone because it is badly edited. The story itself is cute but weird. If you've read ACOTAR think of this book as a dupe version of it, not edited well and summarised.
SPOILERS
The book flips between Aynslee and Weston.
Aynslee is a maid working at this house in Texas where it's hot and her bosses are terrible.
Weston is a construction worker who works with his brothers. He also sprinkles in that he's a sex demon and that they had to flee their home in Wyoming because some weird angel/demon-eating space worms destroyed it and the Archangel Michael told them they had to run. So he's stuck working a real job with his brothers.
He sees her through the window and tricks her into coming outside she loses her job because of him so she leaves. He followed her helped her, almost eff her. He finds it weird that she's not immediately trying to eff him because he's a sex demon and it's in his nature. Then drops her off at home which is a literal shed.
Turns out she's half angel and half human. She doesn't know it until her friend's uncle dies and she meets the Grim Reaper and he's like??? you can see me? So, he goes off and tells Gabriel (yes, the biblical angel) Gabriel shows up in her shed and is like the girl we got to take you off these streets cause her angel daddy was a deadbeat.
So he takes her to Ireland to teach her angel things and meets her sister who is also half witch and human with three Grim Reaper bfs. Then they are like yea we need you to marry some guy to create an alliance. She is like ok I guess. So she calls up Weston because she wants to see him before she's someone's wife. (She doesn't know he's a demon.)
Then she's back home after her lil date with him. There's a huge party then they are like we present you your future husband and BOOM it's Weston now Demon King.
Both of them are shocked because they both said were hesitant to get married because they only wanted each other but thought they couldn't have each other but big surprise now they are married.
She goes lives with the demons on their land, the demons hate her. They are falling in love and have the best sex* ever while also training her. Even though they are under threat Weston still plans to not letter her battle with the space worms. This is dumb because he gets all her energy literally from effing her so she's already stronger than him anyway. Over time they begin to hear and sense each other's thoughts and are now completely connected.
People are saying that they are fated mates but they are both fighting it because Aynslee said she didn't want to be married so Weston said we can just do this for a year. Now they secretly don't want to let go because ya know pride.
They are doing well until Weston is leaving to fight space worms and this dumb dweeb attempts to cast a spell to keep her in their land. Which doesn't work because there is no such thing. They argue and he tries to shut her in saying I forbid you I am king yadayada and she's like well ok bye forever. She then trains with the angels and then enters the battle with them and the demons she almost dies and tells him she loves him through the bond. He runs and saves her and then he drains himself trying to heal her.
Anyways she heals him and dips. He wakes up like?? But he tries to let her go because he knows she deserves better. He leaves her alone for a month until he is like almost dead because he hasn't fucked and has a sex demon so the guy can't even stand right and looks emaciated.
He goes to her apologizes, does a cute human picnic, and dresses up like a construction worker from before. She forgives him, they get pregnant and thats it.
Cute, goofy I might reread it because it was a fast read.

This is a quick read that was easy to read, had sweet moments, and great steam. Aynslee is a young ordinary woman that works as a maid to a snobby wealthy family with strict rules and impossible demands. Weston is an Incubus Demon residing on earth in plain sight working as a blue collar worker. He’s hired by a family to do some work on their property and is smitten with the beautiful human girl, Aynslee. He knows he can never pursue her because a relationship between a human and demon is forbidden, as the human will fatally die, but Weston is having difficulty being away from Aynslee. After he gets her fired, they share a wonderful night together but get separated after.

Aynslee learns she is not just a normal human girl. She’s half-human and half-angel. When Weston becomes the Demon King, he must take a bride, and as fate would have it… Aynslee is the perfect match.

Tropes: Paranormal romance, demons, incubi, angels, half-angels, humans, fated mates, arranged marriage, virgin heroine
Heat: 3/5.

This was just ok. It is a quick read and could probably use a bit more editing and a bit more…more
Aynslee is a maid in a cruel household. She is all alone in the world because she comes from an abusive and neglectful home. At her job, she meets Weston. He is an Incubus demon living exiled as a human because his kind is being hunted. They have an instant connection but he can’t take it too far because he thinks she is human and sex btw human and Incubus is deadly for the human.

She soon finds out her real father was an Angel, so she is half Angel. She needs protection because the same creatures that are hunting Demons are also hunting her kind. Other Angels suggest she marry the Demon King bc he needs a wife and he will protect her. She reluctantly agrees and then finds out the Demon King is none other than Weston!

This book was definitely a new twist on the paranormal fated mates trope. I appreciated that the heroine wasn't all about rejecting the idea of marrying for duty, or that she was a b-word about it toward Weston. One issue I did have with her--and with all willful heroines, actually--was that she refused to back down when he wanted her to stay behind during battle. What is it with heroines who don't give a crap about the fact that if they fight and die, their partners will die, too? How do they not understand that they are weaker, frailer--and even though they can blast people with holy bolts, they are still weaker and frailer and easier to kill? I despise heroines like that, who disregard their physical limitations because their pride is hurt. Aside from that, this was an okay read.

Incubus King . . .

Aynslee has had a rough life, but she is strong and works hard to one day find where she belongs. She works as a maid, treated poorly by the entitled family who doesn’t make things easy for her. Weston is an Incubus (demon) who is hired to do work and he sees Aynslee and wants her. When he causes her to be fired from her job, she finally finds out that she is half-human/half-angel. Weston becomes the Demon King and needs a bride. At the urging of the Angels, the two accept an arranged marriage and is just so happens that she is an acceptable mate for Weston. Will she eventually trust him? Or is it best that she remains suspicious to stay safe?

Nice

It was a nice read the only thing that threw me off was the whole 1 year. The main female character forgot she told the main male character she didn’t want to get married. Hence, why he said give me a year. Then proceed to tell her cousin and sister and forgetting to tell them that SHE didn’t want to marry him. That’s really the one thing that really pissed me off about her. Oh and her not understanding that he didn’t want her to get hurt. I also get he was a lil d!CK about that too.

Other than that it was a nice read. Very fast pace.

Nobody in the book is actually a teenager, but it did feel kind of like a High School relationship/breakup situation.

I really liked the MMC's personality, at the start of the book he's so carefree and cheery, it just pulls you right in.

I *absolutely loved* how the FMC stood up for herself and did not back down. This part had me cheering.

okay quick read

Overall world concept is interesting and plot was decent. However writing style seemed choppy and abrupt. Several continuity errors and some typos.

Good read

A good read. Slow burn book with realistic world building but very slow in some sections. Well rounded believable people.
