Saved by the Bell #7

That Old Zack Magic

Rate this book
When the power goes out at Bayside High during a storm, Principal Belding comes into Zack Morris's American History class and tells a creepy tale of one Eddie Maracas, a troubled student who died in a tragic fall at Bayside years ago and whose ghost still haunts the east staircase. Zack can't resist daring his macho buddy, A.C. Slater, to prove his bravery by spending the night in the dark, empty school. When Zack's friends hear the plan, they decide to go along for some scary fun.

A spooky thunderstorm create the myth, the legend that is Eerie Eddie. The gang want to see if he is real and end up hiding out in the school overnight when spooky events happen!

What I didn’t expect from this book was the very real subject it covered on immigration and reiterated how Saved By The Bell both on and off screen mixed humour with serious topics

The A Story: Mr. Belding's kooky ghost story inspires Zack to play an awesome prank.
The B Story: Lisa gives the clingy tomboy tips on finding a boyfriend, leading to unintended consequences.
The C Story: Jesse offers to marry a refugee of the San Cristóbal Civil War to prevent his deportation and murder because Slater isn't interested in her poetry. SERIOUSLY.

Also. Screech has a steady girlfriend named Nanny Parker who writes the gossip column for The Bayside Beacon. Like... what?!

Honestly, I had a hard time liking Jesse in this book. What gives her the right to be mad at Slater for not going to a poetry reading when she refuses to support him at one of his football games. Relationships are about giving and taking and Jesse doesn't give alot.
I love this tv serious and thought Beth Cruise made a solid attempt at giving us another adventure with the Bayside High gang!
