This is one of the better books on fire service leadership I have read.

The author provides practical strategies and techniques that aspiring leaders in the fire service can adopt, with detailed explanation of how to employ them and what to avoid.

There is also lots of advice on how to best carry out some of the other administration tasks that fire service leaders are required to perform as part of their role.

I would recommend this book to anyone looking to improve their leadership, within and outside the fire service or new or upcoming fire service leaders

There are Mount Rushmore’s of Fire Service books and this, to me is one of them. It teaches leadership, self improvement, introspection and both knowledge and skill of the job. Reader will leave a better firefighter and the good news is that the lessons can be applied outside the fire service. A must read.

I read this for a promotional test but luckily it was already on my too read list. Great book in the same vein as Pride and Ownership. A very approachable read from Fire Engineering and a book I would recommend to any aspiring fire officer. It's filled with great practical tips on handling many aspects of being a fire officer. Every section I read I took something useful away from it.

4.7 ⭐️ I really enjoyed the message, not a huge fan of the writing technique used. There are a lot of acronyms to help a leader be successful. I really enjoyed the driving home of customer service. I feel thats a trade that hasnt been used often enough in the fire service.
