His Reasons To Change -
Jade was elated when she started on the Elite Coast Guards in Maui and she was looking forward to the job, but she didn’t expect to encounter the gorgeous stubborn colleague that created problems for her. Nick enjoyed being on the Elite Coast Guards team, but he went from being a team player to an extreme where he was consistently putting his life and that of his colleagues at risk.
Their first few rescues working as a team were eventful, but spending time together after the rescues brought them closer, which led to the start of their secret sexual relationship. Unfortunately, Nick went too far on one of their rescues, which caused Jade to make a change in her life, but Nick still didn’t think his behaviour warranted changing. That is until he found himself in a situation where his life was on the line, which made him realise he was the one in the wrong.
Luckily, Jade forgave him after he explained everything to her, so she decided to tell him about their life changing news, which gave them the chance at getting their happy life together. This story had me hooked from the first page, with all the ups and downs of this story, as well as the secret steamy encounters and the way all the characters had each other’s back. I enjoyed reading this book and I am happy to recommend it.

Jade had always dreamed of being asked to join an elite team of the Coast Guard, and she had just joined the Maui Elite Team which was a very small team that she would have to get used to working with as she came from a large Coast Guard Team on the California coast. The team Captain Skylar was all about rules and protocol unless it was Nick then there seemed to be a double standard as they went to Coast Guard School together, and there was an incident that greatly affected both of them which gave Nick some lead way for his eradic behavior. In the beginning Jade only found Nick's behavior on the team irritating but some of his actions were actually life threatening. Nick's response to every misdeed would be: "I saved the person" that would make his action acceptable in his mind. Jade had grown close to Nick over her time on the team, and she tried everything she knew to reason with him, about how she and the rest of the team would feel if he got hurt or killed on a rescue. Jade was close to the breaking point as she would not be able to work under these conditions much longer. Enjoy a fabulous action packed, romance as the team completes recues in the ocean under various circumstances. What would finally set Jade off, and what would she ultimately do? How would Nick reacts to Jade's actions be?.

Jade transfers from California to Hawaii to work as part of the elite coast guard team of Sector Maui.
Nick takes risk no other team member does, but the results stand for themselves. He is driven by his past and is a lone wolf.
The attraction when the two meet is undeniable, but not acted on for a while until the chemistry becomes too much.
However, when Nick risks his life on one occasion to many, Jade has had enough. Unable to work with him anymore and potential watch him die on a rescue she asks for a transfer back to her old team.
Can Nick stop tormenting the ones that love and care from him, and toe the line thus giving up being so stubborn and arrogant?
I don't think I've read a book with the coast guard as the occupation of the main characters before, but it was an insightful and lovely read.
Thorough enjoyable and read in a day.

An ideal way to be eighty.
A really good story for a steamy day in Houston . This bought back memories of swimming in the ocean as a young adult in Australia before going to nursing school to be a Nurse midwife then a mother of two and a husband. Now at my I look forward to my next adventure with my second husband, as we leave the steamy south to go to live in Boston. We will be close to his first family which includes three daughters and and his ex wife, who I like and respect.
Guess I am a very lucky old broad and very blessed.

Nick & jade’s story is truly a rollercoaster ride. He’s part of an elite coastguard team & a renegade on the job. She’s excited to join this new team but he pushes her buttons with his attitude. Sparks fly & attraction flares. Will Nick’s reckless attitude destroy any chance of a HEA?.

I'm not sure if I've read a book with the Coast Guard as the theme. It was an enjoyable read with good characters. Nick was interesting with his issue, but it made sense with his job. Jade was a tough and knew what she wanted heroine and that was awesome to see.
And we get a baby and an HEA!.

Joyful and dangerous romance.
Dangerous background, with the work both lovers did.

Jade is new to the team and must learn the dynamics of it. She learns that Nick is a daredevil and will risk it all to save others. They start a relationship but ends when Jade and no longer take the crazy. Now she has news to tell Nick but will she get there too late.

This was just okay for me.
They story was ok, but went so fast jumping over the love story and the characters growing. It was still enjoyable to read.
