Jenna Jameson is an American businesswoman, writer, television personality, and former adult film performer whose name became synonymous with glamour, confidence, and success. Celebrated as one of the most iconic figures in adult entertainment, she rose to fame during the 1990s and early 2000s, becoming one of the few performers to break into the mainstream cultural spotlight. Her success was not limited to the screen; she built a multifaceted career that includes entrepreneurship, authorship, and appearances in television and popular media.
She began her professional journey as a model and dancer, entering the adult film industry in the early 1990s. With striking looks, charisma, and an intuitive understanding of the business, she quickly became one of the industry's most sought-after stars. Within a few short years, she had received top newcomer awards from the major adult film organizations and was widely recognized for her talent and screen presence. She went on to win over 35 adult industry awards and earned her place in both the XRCO and AVN Halls of Fame.
But Jenna’s ambitions extended far beyond performing. She co-founded the adult entertainment company ClubJenna, which soon became a leader in premium content and production. The company’s first film, Briana Loves Jenna, became one of the top-selling and top-renting adult titles of the early 2000s, demonstrating not only her popularity but also her acumen as a producer and business strategist. Under her leadership, ClubJenna grew into a successful brand, and in 2006, she sold the company in a multimillion-dollar deal that further solidified her status as a savvy entrepreneur.
She also made a notable impact on mainstream culture. Jenna appeared on television shows, in films, and in music videos, becoming a recognizable figure far beyond her industry. She was a frequent guest on talk shows and even lent her voice to video games and animated features. Her autobiography, How to Make Love Like a Porn Star: A Cautionary Tale, published in 2004, was a major commercial success and spent several weeks on The New York Times Best Seller list. In it, she opened up about her life with honesty and vulnerability, sharing her experiences, struggles, and achievements in a way that resonated with readers around the world.
After retiring from adult film performance in the late 2000s, she continued to reinvent herself. She took on advisory and leadership roles with various dance and performance organizations, made select media appearances, and developed personal projects. At times she returned briefly to modeling, but her focus shifted toward writing, family, and spiritual growth. She explored new paths, including religious conversion and personal wellness, all while staying engaged with her audience through social media and interviews.
Her personal life, marked by highs and lows, has also been widely followed. She has experienced the challenges of public relationships, parenting, and health issues, including a rare neurological condition that she publicly disclosed. Through these experiences, Jenna has remained candid, determined, and often humorous, earning admiration for her strength and resilience. Her story continues to evolve, reflecting a woman who refuses to be defined by any single chapter of her life.
Jenna Jameson’s influence reaches far beyond her beginnings. She is viewed not only as a pioneer in her field but also as a symbol of independence, empowerment, and reinvention. Her ability to navigate fame, business, and personal transformation with honesty and complexity has earned her a lasting place in contemporary popular culture. She remains a compelling figure, admired by fans and respected by colleagues, for her bold spirit, creative vision, and unapologetic authenticity.

I received this book from the goodreads first reads program. To be honest I was a little worried to read this book at first, but was very pleasantly surprised. An amazing story line, and well developed and highly relateable characters are only a few of the good points. Yes, there was sex, and it was written out in detail, but it was only a sidenote to the story rather than being the entire story. I enjoyed reading "Sugar" so much that I read it in one sitting.

“Single scoop, plain vanilla, huh? I wouldn’t have figured you for a vanilla girl.”

Sarah Halliday is beautiful, has a smokin’ body and a keen mind for business; she is also known as “Sugar,” the most adored woman in porn. With a sizable bank account, a successful production company and a stack of threatening fan mail, she’s ready to hang up her thong for a taste of normalcy and a chance to help her friend who is battling breast cancer. However, when sexy, rich playboy Cole Canning eyes her perfectly sculpted derriere in the frozen foods aisle of a local convenience store, life becomes anything but simple, or ordinary…for both of them. When Cole realizes the sultry siren’s true identity, they strike up a no strings attached arrangement in which they will reenact each of Sugar’s porn flicks and then walk away. It’s a win/win for both of them in which they can enjoy her past sexual escapades without the light and cameras…but all of the action. However, when two people share a sexual chemistry that sets the bed on fire, it becomes increasingly difficult to remain unaffected. Will love get in the way of this seemingly perfect relationship of sex and lust or will love get in the way?

I was really excited to read Sugar, a fictionalized account of some of Jenna’s real life exploits, and happily I got more than I expected. It’s a well-written, steamy story with great characters, a strong plot and a whole lot of scorching hot, sexy scenes that morph into something more along the way. All I can say is, “Lucky Jenna;)”

I loved that Sarah isn’t “just” a porn star; she is smart, strong, loyal, compassionate and a great interpretation of how a woman can successfully use her body AND her mind while maintaining her dignity and self-respect. You don’t have to be a porn star to appreciate that… we’re women, we get it. Cole is a delicious morsel of alpha male who can be sexy and strong, as well as sweet. The chemistry between these two is explosive and the scenes are *ahem* shall I say, “creative?” The subplot between Sarah and her friend Liz provides a welcome bit of the warmth of sisterhood and mysterious death threats add edge. If you’re looking for a hot read that doesn’t fizzle, Sugar is a fine example of sex with substance. October 21st can’t come soon enough;-D

Hang on , wait a minute... Jenna Jameson... as in Adult pornographic Actress?
Wow, i'm pleasantly surprised!
This erotic novel reads like a bad porno at times but that is kinda the point.... you'll get it once you read it.
But this is pretty good, the storyline is not predictable, the story actually flows and you actually empathise with the character.
I didn't mind it.
However like usual with my erotic reads... I'm not going to give you details im just going to tell you to read the book.
These books are meant to be experienced, no matter the level of smut! Thankfully its not that bad, and its quite a nice romance book with lots of sex to keep things interesting!

Sarah Halliday is done with the Adult Entertainment industry. With the release of her 100th film, the scary stalker that has been leaving letters and knows the most intimate of details of her life, and one of her friends battling breast cancer – all the signs are there. She leaves the West Coast and returns home to New York to care for Liz and Liz’s son. Nothing prepared her for a chance encounter with billionaire playboy Iraq war hero Cole Canning and what would melt her heart and her body along the way.
A good story, filled with interesting characters, had a storyline and erotica, the scenes were hot and steamy. The secondary characters were an added depth. You will see similarities between the main character and Jenna Jameson and you will recognize Hope Tarr’s writing influence where she put her exquisite stamp. Not the hardest read, not the deepest (pardon the pun) twist, but a good read simply because of the words on paper. This is part of a series.

I finished this book on the way to work and it just kept me smiling the whole drive in. I was kind of sad to say bye to Sugar and Cole. What started out as something easy and fun became tangled and even more fun! I really enjoyed this book, and my only grievance would be that I wish I would have read this book rather than listed to it. There were just parts where the narrator’s voice just didn’t agree with me. Over all I was able to look past it because the story was so smoking hot and Cole, sad some hot a$$ sh*t! I will defiantly be checking out future work from Jenna Jameson. And yes it’s Jenna Jameson the porn star. Honey, can she write a sex scene, whether they are dirty, sweet, or kinky they are always HOT! If you are looking for something fun, steamy, and light on the angst then this is def an awesome summer read.

I won my copy of this at Tori's contest over at HnH (http://www.heroesandheartbreakers.com...) and received it in the mail this past weekend, earning several winks from DH when he saw the book jacket.

I read it in one sitting (it's a fast read), but found myself drawn into the characters themselves. Yes, there's lots of steamy scenes, but I was cheering for Sugar from page 1.

Definitely an adult read, but also a fun way to pass an afternoon!

Well hot damn - Jenna Jameson can write!!! I loved - - LOVED this book. The main characters were awesome - it didn't have all that angst that makes you want to throw your kindle at the wall - it was simply a great story. I was a bit judgey at first - the porn industry and all...lesson learned for reals - - don't be judgey :-) The book was HOTTTT - the scenes detailed but not over the top, and definitely NOT cheesy porn-ish. I can't wait until the next book, Honey!!!

True 5/5 ⭐️

Honestly, this book surprised me. I had low expectations and was expecting a quick and easy read, which it was, but the substance and story in this book caught me off guard. There were definitely scenes that were… unexpected? Where I had to read them out loud because of how absurd it sounded. But the story itself touched on some heavier topics: stigma in the adult entertainment community, PTSD, cancer… I really enjoyed the story!

I really enjoyed this book. Of course I've read a few other books from Hope Tarr and knew with Jenna's erotic input that it would be a winner! I can't wait for the next in the series and to hopefully see more of Sarah and Cole :)

To say I loved this book would be an understatement this is honestly my favorite book of the year so far. The erotica, the romance, and the slight mystery aspect had me wanting more. The sexual encounters were in such detail that I couldn’t help but want more. This is the first erotic romance I’ve read since being scarred by the bashing behind the Fifty Shades of Grey trilogy and I’m so happy that I finally bit the bullet and began reading this book. There will be more reviews of me reading this genre of book for sure. I wish I could give this more than 5 stars because I would.

I was intrigued when I found out that Jenna Jameson cowrote an erotic novel. The premise is interesting but I was underwhelmed. This is erotica for the Twilight/Fifty Shades set. If you like that, this might be for you. . The descriptions were very blase. I have read fanfics that were spicier. I would say it's a romance story with some sex that was written in a way that was lukewarm rather than hot. Give it a read if you are curious.

Sugar is the story of a porn star looking to create a new life for herself. He r friend has cancer so she is helping her get through this as well.
Cole is a NY socialite, he doesn't want no part of it though. He is also a war hero much to his families chagrin.
They bump into each other in a bodega. Make a deal and try to stick with it. It was and interesting read.

I CAN'T WAIT TO READ "HONEY" THE NEXT BOOK IN THIS SERIES. THE BEST PART IT'S A SERIES THAT EACH BOOK IS A FREAKIN' STAND ALONE, NO CLIFF HANGING. WHOO-HOO! YIPPEE!

I couldn’t get too into it because from the very beginning Cole is a complete ass and she should’ve just ignored him. The stalker is the only person who makes any sense, so it wasn’t much of a surprise. Cancer and PTSD from Iraq seem like a little too much for this content. It was a cute erotica book for what it is though.

This is a phenomenal book if you enjoy sex scenes. There is a lot of them, and they are described in great detail, however it is not just that the book follows a really awesome story line that makes you want to keep reading. I finished this book in two sittings because it’s that good, but only if you’re really interested in a retired porn star and the sex stories that come along with it.

This book was better than I originally expected if I am being completely homestead. It left me guessing and it wasn't really predictable. I don't know if book 2 ever came out but if it did I would be interested in reading it.

Omg this was such a yummy story. It has a huge amount more to it than most erotic books, of course it's ex-pornstar Jenna Jameson after all! Can't wait to read the other 2 books in this series. 5 stars

I won this book from a First Reads giveaway on Goodreads.

When I began reading this book I immediately didn't like it. As the book went on, I began to actually invest in the characters. I generally gravitate towards historical romance rather than contemporary romance but after reading the 50 shades novels I decided to give this book a chance. Within the first couple of paragraphs, Jameson began name dropping celebrity names which I found annoying. Certain parts of the book felt like Jameson was just relaying her own personal stories from the adult entertainment industry in a "fictionalized" form. The supporting characters in the novel were the real stars. I related to Sarah's friend who was going through chemotherapy. Having gone through chemo myself, Jameson provided an accurate portrayal of someone suffering through such debilitating treatments. This provided some humanity to a fluff novel. By the end of the novel I found myself really rooting for Sarah and Cole's relationship. Albeit the whole plot line seemed pretty typical. This book is part of a series of novels (isn't everything nowadays?). I don't know that I would seek out the next installment, Honey. It was a decent fluff novel for anyone looking for a quick read.

I got this book for xmas but I've been having trouble finishing it because I can't stand how simple it's written. The excessive use of the word "belly" in chapter two make me sick- can the writer really not think of any other word yet alone one that isn't used in children's vocabulary. How tacky! This is just one example of how this story is written overall. I was and still am disappointed in this book because I enjoyed How to Make Love Like a Porn Star very much. I just feel this book took 2 days to write, fulled with common mainstream bits to keep people saying, "She has an iPhone, omg I have one too! I can so relate to this girl- Derp!" which makes the book seem dated to me. It's a poorly written (in a sense that an 7th grader could read it) story of common cliches and drama dribble than any housewife lusts for. The smut isn't very engaging, thrilling, or sexy. Glad I didn't PAY for this.

Thanks to goodreads First Reads for the free copy of this book.

Sugar was surprisingly good - so engaging I finished it in one sitting - though I'll admit while expectations weren't set very high. While the story line has the feel of a fictionalized biography (a cross between real life and Pretty Woman), it's well-written and the characters were developed and interesting. And just the right amount of hot sex. On a side note, I also appreciated the subtle strength Jameson built into her protagonist; I wouldn't change a thing about her.

Probably more of a 3.5 stars for me, but let's round up and say bring on book #2.

P.S. The one negative that stuck out to me was that the timeline seemed off in places; in one place it had been three months, then it was eight weeks, then barely two months... I didn't appreciate the inconsistency.

This was brutal. I finished most of it in a day because I knew if I kept putting it off it would probably end up in the trash. If I could give it 0 stars, I would.
In a nutshell, Mary Sue escapes the glamorous lifestyle in LA and runs off to New York. Mary Sue meets Gary Stu, where Gary Stu becomes her knight in shining armor (shocker). They come to an agreement to have a NSA relationship (this sounds familiar). You can imagine what happens next, you've only seen it in every rom-com/Lifetime Movie Network Original Movie. I'm assuming Cole (Gary Stu) is suppose to be the kind of guy women fantasize about, but all I saw was a douche who was insecure, possessive, controlling and pushy.
I wouldn't recommend this to anyone who actually enjoys reading good literature. This book was cheesy and boring.
