After celebrating the New Year with his family and friends Beanie heads home where he finds an injured man in his backyard. Turns out the guy is a wealthy businessman who has many enemies and Beanie is pulled into the mystery. ad me on the edge of my seat wondering who did it and how deep the investigation would take us. From the well written, suspenseful story and well developed characters to the danger and unexpected twists this book is a page turner. Happy New Year Murder is book eight and a great addition to the series. I look forward to reading the next book by this talented author. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.

I completely enjoyed this book, it's my first with this writer but she gives enough background information so I didn't feel lost at all. I love that Beanie, main character, and his wife Noelle have a strong loving relationship, you don't often see that.
Beanie is an investigative reporter for the local small town paper who discovers a man stabbed in his own backyard. Join him as he tries to unravel this mystery and the others that follow!

Overall, it was a good mystery. The pieces came together nicely. My one complaint though is the final chapter. The great reveal. I think that could have been rewritten to something much more satisfying. I definitely did not expect the actually culprit to be…….. entertaining read indeed.

If you're looking for a cozy mystery with a tropical twist, you might want to check out Happy New Year Murder by Rachel Woods. It's the latest installment in the Reporter Roland Bean series, featuring Beanie and his wife Noelle, who solve crimes in the Palmchat Islands. In this book, Beanie finds a dying man in his backyard, who turns out to be a shady loan shark with many enemies. This book is full of humor, suspense, and surprises, and will keep you guessing until the end. You don't need to read the previous books in the series to enjoy this one, but you might want to, because they are all equally fun and engaging.
