Jose Victor Z. Torres is a Filipino writer, essayist, and historian known for his focus on Philippine history and culture. He is a professor in the History Department at De La Salle University (DLSU) in Manila and serves in a leadership role at the university's Bienvenido N. Santos Creative Writing Center. He earned a master's degree and a Ph.D. in History from the University of Santo Tomas (UST), which recognized him in 2014 as an Outstanding Graduate School Alumni in History.
