Meet Lucy and Nick

In the adrenaline-filled world of Top Fuel drag racing, Lucy Hamilton lives life in the fast lane. With her tomboy spirit and fiery passion for motorsports, she's on the verge of claiming a coveted world championship title and doesn’t need any distractions. But when fellow driver Nick Dalmacio enters the scene, sparks fly in more ways than one.

Nick harbours a deep-seated grudge against Lucy, blaming her for the tragic car accident that killed his brother. Yet, when he finally meets her, he's taken aback by the alluring woman hidden behind her tough facade. As the heat between them intensifies, Nick finds himself determined to melt the icy walls Lucy has erected.

In a world where passion burns as hot as the engines and desire lingers in the air, Lucy and Nick find themselves locked in a thrilling pursuit—both on and off the track—until Lucy discovers who Nick really is.

Will Nick be the man to tame her heart, or is any chance of love now out of the question?

This contemporary love story, filled with speed and seduction, sizzles with chemistry and scorching passion. Buckle up and prepare for a wild ride, because sometimes the most dangerous curves are the ones that lead straight to love.

Lucy was a fast-paced, fun read, all wrapped up with great plot development and serious moments of reflection.

In the male-dominated world of fast cars and huge egos, Lucy managed to remain humble in spite of her success, and I really enjoyed that about her character. She had a heart of gold, but definitely knew how to look after herself.

Initially I found Nick to be a bit of a jerk, but he soon redeemed himself, and I came to like him a lot toward the end of the book. The author did a good job of weaving emotion and back-story throughout the pages, and as I got to know the H & H more, I thought the characterization of Lucy and Nick were spot on.

It was also great to catch up with some of the characters from the first two books in the series, but all the time I was reading, I kept thinking to myself, how on earth does the author know so much about drag-racing. And while I'm no petrol-head, I found that side of the story fascinating.

Totally recommended.

Lucy is the third book in The Hamiltons series and this time we are drawn into the world of drag racing. I'm currently reading a multi-author series set around F1 racing, so it was really interesting to see the similarities surrounding the sport of drag.

Lucy is pretty bada*s in her drive to become World Champion and she is highly focused on her career. Along comes Nick determined to blame Lucy for his brother's death, but instead the two have serious chemistry from the start and fall for each other fast. Both Nick and Lucy blow hot and cold for part of the story and they have issues to sort through to get their happy ending but true love wins through in the end.

Now to wait for Aiden's story.

I liked the book but it didn't hook me in as much as I hoped it would. The descriptions of the drag racing and Lucy's family were good but I didn't feel we learnt enough about Nick. For an adrenaline fueled sport the atmosphere and pacing felt a little flat and distanced. The fade to black and slow burn romance also added to that feeling.
It wasn't a bad book but more hallmark meets nitro fuel than I expected.

I really enjoyed reading Lucy, the third Hamilton. Carole has a way of writing that draws you into the story and you have to keep reading to see how it will all unfold.
