Let me start this review by saying, paranormal/shifter books are not usually my first, or second choice when looking for a new book to read. But I knew how much I loved J.E. Daelman’s MC books and the characters that she creates, I was willing to give it a try. Well, I’m so glad I did! This is an incredible book!
We first meet Tatiana before she turns sixteen. Life has not been kind to her since her parents died. She tries to keep her head down and not be noticed by the rest of her pack, but lots of times that is next to impossible. Tatiana learns of the plans that the evil Alpha of her pack has for her and her future. She realizes that she needs to escape. Even though Tatiana hasn’t gotten her wolf yet, Ebony is a strong powerful Alpha female wolf who can still help her.
With Ebony’s help, Tatiana escapes to the rogue town of Wolfsfoot. In this town Tatiana discovers the friends and family that she has been lacking since her parents died. With their help and guidance she begins to figure out her and Ebony’s future.
I got so invested in the story, characters and world that Daelman has created I was not bothered by the fact that this book was a shifter book. This to me, showcases her talent as an author. In fact, I’m so invested I can’t wait to see where she takes us next in this new world!
Absolutely the same skill, the world of Wolfsfoot comes alive. Book 1 is the introduction of Tati, a young girl on the edge of coming of age with the arrival of her wolf. Ever alone, she now is awed by Ebony, a vibrant strong Alpha wolf. Her other half, that she must rise to match. Follow their journey to a new home and delight in the warm embrace of the family she gathers to her. Tati will need all their help to uncover the truth of the loss of her parents, to deliver justice and take her place at the head of her pack. To finally be either Alpha or Luna to her soulmate, a brilliant dream come true. Enjoy, truly fantastic.
I was a little apprehensive about this one as I don’t read paranormal very often but I absolutely loved this book, Jan’s trademark humour is evident in this book like all her others, especially between Tati and Brod her bestie, this was a very entertaining story filled with wonderful characters that I hope make an appearance in future books, paranormal lovers will adore this book and if you’re a paranormal newbie like me I hope you give it a go as it’s really really good.🖤❤️
It was my first paranormal/ shifter book, and it didn't disappoint. Life has been rough for the h, Tatiana. She tries to be invisible around her pack and stay clear of the horrible Alpha. She heard one night the plans he had for her, so she put her trust in the only person she could and ran away to a rogue town. There, she learns about herself, her wolf, her legacy, and what family is. But there is still trouble from not only her old pack but others. Through all the twists and turns, she finds her mate. Don't miss this one. Can't wait for more.
Jan Daelman does it again with her first paranormal book. It was awesome and I couldn't turn the pages fast enough. A young girls parents die in a car accident and she is suddenly treated horribly by her pack members. About to turn 16 and get her wolf, she has to run for her life. She finds a place that is home and so much more..its home. She even finds herself. I hope Jan Daelman continues this series. It is amazing...
This start to a new series has me in awe. Love the characters and the way people/ shifters are brought together for a purpose of providing and protecting all those they hold most dear. Family doesn’t have to be only blood and this author has shown her readers that in this amazing Book 1. Cannot wait for more. There be some wolves that need to go down.
This is the first book in a new series called Wolfsfoot. It's a fast-paced and standalone book that will keep you engaged from start to finish. This is a story about being able to move forward in one's life. Read to find out what happens.
Great read this one. Wonderful blend of excitement, intrigue and downright courage. It was a bit hard reading in places where Tati was being bullied, but her courage kept me going and I couldn’t stop reading. Really interested where this story is going.
Absolutely loved it. Big change from her other book but got you hooked from the start. Loved all the characters and the storyline flowed from the start. Look forward to reading more in the series
HOLY MOTHER OF BOOK LOVERS!! I ABSO-FREAKIN-LUTELY LOVED, LOVED, LOVED THIS BOOK! First I have to tell you I've never had any interest in shifter books, they just never appealed to me but since I absolutely adore Jan Daelman and her books I had to buy it and HOLY MOLY! WOW! WOW! WOW! Lol! I so thoroughly enjoyed this book. At the end I just kept saying to myself no, no, no, no, no, no. Lol! I never wanted it to end. I loved the mystery of it all. I don't quite know what I was expecting but this book was so much more. It's a love story waiting to happen. I laughed and I cried and the angst made me jittery. I loved every minute of it. Tatiana's character was so strong and independent but she didn't see herself that way. When Lykos and Akela come into Tati's life I was so happy for her. She needed them and so much more. This book was such an emotional rollercoaster I couldn't get enough. I absolutely loved all the diferent wolf names too. Ebony, Tati's wolf sounds gorgeous. It has everything you could want in a book. The suspense is at times intense and the mystery keeps you on the edge of your seat. It's exciting and funny and at times it so heartbreaking. I EXTREMELY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK TO EVERYONE! Jan sweetie you've total outdone yourself, you've made me a shifter lover. LMAO!
This is Book 1 in the Kingdom of Wolves series. I’m used to reading the MC books by this author, but I wasn’t sure about her branching out into paranormal. Now that I’ve read it, I just want to say how happy I am that she decided to try something new. It was so good! Tatiana has had a hard life since her parents were killed but she escapes and gets to start a new life. The things that she’s had to withstand gave her that little extra kickstart to become a strong woman and wolf. Most of the book is about her growing up and learning about her being an Alpha wolf. But! Don’t fret because this is a romance, so her love does finally get with her. I’m not telling who it is because there’s a couple in it that it could be. I was surprised when I found out who it was so you can be surprised, too. It is a very long book but there’s a lot of background work that is needed. I was very unhappy with several of the characters, but I guess everyone needs a little butt kicking at some point in their lives, right? It’s a good book that I would recommend to anyone who likes wolves.
The good- I originally liked the storyline and cast and the heroine was interesting, but everything was resolved very easily and it was not a Cinderella retelling.
Spoilers:
I didn’t like that the fact that ebony kept getting weaker as the story went on and towards the end decides to let a man even her mate tell her what to do. She should have been the leader and not just a housemaid.
Very slow and sometimes the plot lines didn’t make sense….
Her mate made no sense especially since they seen each other earlier.
Connel, the rouges, Evangeline, Izzy,Aurora it seems that the author doesn’t like females and made almost every female Tati and ebony meet evil and betrayals.
Aurora storyline was more interesting as she had to fight to save her pack…. Ebony does nothing in the entire book and after about 20 pages is treated like royalty immediately
Very easy book, but wanted so much more character development and friends and ebony actually making a difference
A Must Read!! Jan did an exceptional job introducing us to her world of shifters. I've not read many paranormal stories, but the life of Tatiana and her wolf, Ebony, keep you turning the pages to see what she decides is her best move forward with her life. Once her parents died, she was left with going to school and basically becoming the maid to her pack.
She overhears a conversation and knows she must escape, and find a new home that will accept her and her wolf. She winds up in Wolfsfoot and a loving couple takes her in and helps guide her.
I found the story to have both heartbreaking and heartwarming moments, but the story line just flows with some plot twist throughout and interesting characters that are intermingled in the story, and you just have to know what happens next.
Since reading this new genre, which we all know is different from her wonderful MC stories, I'm excited to read more of Tatiana and the rest of the pack, and can't wait for the next one.
I dont really read many shifter books and the main reason I read this one was due to the Author I love her MC book and did enjoy it and will continue with series There is muti points of view in the book the main one and most is Tati the young female lead we meet you just shy of her 16 birthday and prior to getting her wolf since the death of her alpha and Luna parents life hasn't been easy and pack life is what it should be for a member especially a daughter of a alpha and Luna after making her freedom we follow her in making a new life filled with love positivity friendship and family there were times her young age showed and how a little tantrum but she a teenager
Gabe very unhappy with the way things in the pack are takes opportunity to do something better he is not afraid to stand up to those in power or family for the better of the pack and for himself
Things are heating up for the packs and war is brewing and things are set to change
This book sets up the world that Kingdom of Wolves is set in and should be read first in order to understand the different dynamics of the packs.
It started off with her being abused by the pack and that is why I don’t like some PNR reads but by the end of chapter 1 it’s mostly resolved so I plowed through.
I’m glad I stuck it out. Fragina and a couple of other women need to die, the mean girls are like an 80’s rom com and the corrupt council members just add to the story.
With a great support system Tatiana is growing in resolve and confidence and her relationship with her wolf is beautiful, her handling of the people who took her in leaving however leaves a lot to be desired. The town is the best definition of a pack that’s not a pack.
The way the different packs are wanting to help each other is great, the new alpha is floundering, rogues are attacking and mates are found.
I really enjoy this author's MC series so I was interested in reading her new paranormal endeavor. This story is the introduction of the shifter world and specifically Tatiana, a young wolf who runs from her pack escaping abuse. The book takes Tati from an almost 16 year old who is about to get her wolf to age 18 so I would consider this a world building story, telling us basically how this world works as the heroine grows up. I really enjoyed the story and the friendships and family that Tati gains along the way. I would recommend the book to anyone interested in a paranormal romance that is not dark. I would be interested if there are any other books in this world in the future, maybe one of the unmated alphas that Tati meets in the book.
Paranormal/ shifter books are not something I would usually read, but as I‘m a fan of Jan Daelman I had to try it – I wasn’t disappointed at all. Becoming an orphan young Tatiana is mistreated by her pack and she has fears for her safety especially as she is about to turn 16 and get her wolf. Escaping the packs clutches and taken in by a couple in a town of rogue shifters.
The story is full of great characters, friendship, action, drama, tension, rivalry and danger. It’s a great start to a new series and I am looking forward to the next book.
Tatiana learns of the plans that the evil Alpha of her pack has for her and her future. She realizes that she needs to escape. Even though Tatiana hasn’t gotten her wolf yet, Ebony is a strong powerful Alpha female wolf who can still help her.
I found the story to have both heartbreaking and heartwarming moments, but the story line just flows with some plot twist throughout and interesting characters that are intermingled in the story, and you just have to know what happens next.
This was this authors first shifter book and it did not disappoint. I was pulled into the story from the start and I could not put it down. Th
Jan Daelman does it again with her first paranormal book. It was awesome and I couldn't turn the pages fast enough. A young girls parents die in a car accident and she is suddenly treated horribly by her pack members. Which just hurt my heart. This book was simply amazing and I can’t wait for what comes next. I highly recommend this book.
Another brilliant book by this author! After not really liking Connell in book 1 he totally redeems himself in this book by becoming the alpha his pack wants/needs and proving he is nothing like father. Luna Hope is just the mate he needs. She has however got her own past issues that rear its ugly head but with the help and support of other packs they all work together to solve these problems. I’d advise you read book 1 before this book so you have all the background of the packs.
I was already a JE Daelman fan but this book!!! It’s nearly 500 pages and I couldn’t put it down! Nothing got done in my house, but I had the best day reading an amazing book! And I want more! It was so good. I love pack life - in the good packs. I’m so happy Tati found her mate. And I love who that mate is. She is amazing and has brought so many groups together in such fantastic ways. So freaking good!!!
So yes it's was nice, it was a gentle book that was well done not to over the top it's wasn't an all perfect in the world sunshine and unicorns story, but it took a sad and harsh life and turned it into a happy ever after, and it did it with a gentle grace and always light at the end of the tunnel feel. Not my normal type but I found it some what refreshing so if you need something for a lazy rainy afternoon Wolfsfoot is for you.
Tatiana has gone thru an amazing amount of crud! we step into a world that is well crafted and a story that gets you really invested. (no spoilers) I will say that J. E. Dealeman, who normally writes MC romance, does a fantastic job walking us through a well crafted world. I would Highly recommend reading this book!
I totally enjoyed this book, I love that the story revolved around Tati and her getting her self healed and understanding pack laws rather than just meeting her mate and falling in love (although that bit was amazing) I can’t wait to see what’s in store for Wolfsfoot :) xx
DNF 35%. My gosh it was so repetitive. I really wanted to like this but something was off. The writing was off and editing was super bad. FMC is just so lame. She is supposed to be this badass alpha female but you get nothing of that coming through. Introducing all these characters and everyone is awe of her because is she alpha. Yes, I got that. What’s the story? Sigh
What a great start to a different series. Loads of new people interacting and starting to work together. As always some bad apples who betray friends. Look forward to the.next book. Great author always keeps you turning the next page.
She runs from her home pack to Wolfsfoot a town of rouge wolves. But Tatti will find her place as an alpha female wolf and claim her place. Its a great start to a new shifter serirs.
