To gain the only thing he truly wants, he'll have to risk everything.
Realm Immortal, Book Three
Juliana, newly appointed Queen of the Unblessed, has realized there is a bit more to her position than she first thought. Sure, it has its a sinfully sexy husband who is also a king, growing powers and a magical life that's never boring, but the drawbacks are considerable. To save her kingdom from war, Juliana accepts assistance from a witch. But when her reality turns upside down, she realizes she's been betrayed.
For a brief time, Merrick knew happiness, as much happiness as the king of necessary evil could ever feel. Juliana has become the light in his darkness. Though he can never tell his wife he loves her--or risk upsetting the balance of both the mortal and immortal realms--the words are understood between them. Or so he thought. When she falls prey to a wayward spell, becoming encased in stone, he knows he'll have to risk everything to gain the only thing he truly wants.
This book contains hot sex, violence, an evil witch, a blundering wizard, meddling sprights, a new queen and the lustful king who plans on showing her just how fun it is to be in charge.\] This novel contains adult content and is intended for mature audiences only. Must be 18 years or older to read.

I didn’t expect much from this series and was surprised to find myself really enjoying it. It was satisfying on several levels. Deep and mature characters. Intense romance. Interesting plot. I absolutely love dark protagonists and Michelle M. Pillow tottaly delivered. Very complex characters with believable emotions.

What an excellent ending to a fantasy series. I was shocked at the twist and couldn't turn the pages fast enough at the end. I have to admit the twist with Mia wasn't what I expected and I wouldn't mind reading more of what is going on in this world. I felt bad for Ean but I see how all things equaled.
This has moved up to one of my favorite series.

Amazing! Fantastic Ending to a Wonderful Series!

Love it! Just simply loved the final book in this series! Full of suspense, intrigue, it kept you on the edge, steamy moments, dark moments and how it completed any loose ends to the series but kept you engrossed in the storyline until the very end.

Juliana wanted an end to the war with Merrick and his blessed brother, she wanted peace for her unborn son so she trusted someone to help not knowing it was set up as a trap to keep her in stone with her unborn child, a harsh betrayal. Meanwhile Merrick was beside himself trying to free her, he had tried everything until he found a way. The old crone had betrayed her and should have given Merrick the details to free her but didn’t. She got stronger on Merrick’s suffering and was in a league with his unblessed brother who ruled the underworld. Merrick had to race to save her as time was running out even as he admitted he loved her, he felt stronger rather than the weakness he thought would come to him an destroy him if he spoke it out loud.

A fast paced story with lots of twists to keep you guessing. Michelle Pillow does an amazing job with this final part to the series. What a find this author is to me! I highly recommend each of the three stories within the series, none of them will disappoint!

Michelle M. Pillow has written a 5-star book. This is the story of Julian and Merrick. Julian is married to Merrick and he is the king of the unblessed and she is queen. They are at war with his brother Ean who is the king of the blessed. they have been at war since Merrick took Julian to be his wife and queen. Julian is pregnant and this is not supposed to happen with the unblessed. Julian doesn't want the war to go on so she finds a way to stop it. It doesn't go the way she wants and she gets encased in stone. Now it is up to Merrick to find a way to bring her back. What Julian doesn't know is that King Lucien of the Damned is the one who started the war and he wants Julian and her baby for their powers. Merrick dreams of Julian and she tries to tell him what he needs to do in order to bring her back. Lucien has help in getting Julian to his kingdom. When she gets there, she sees it is not what it seems. She doesn't want to go anywhere near Lucien.
Will Merrick get to Julian in time to save her and their baby?
This was a wonderful book and I would recommend it to anyone.

I found myself liking this book more than I thought I would. Now that everyone is has been introduced, the story moves along smoothly (well, as smoothly as it can in a world filled with magic). We finally find out how Juliana ended up as a stone statue in Merrick's hidden garden - a very pregnant stone statue. Treachery is, of course, involved. Lucian's machinations continue as he tries to fashion the future prophesied by his seers. Hugh tries numerous ways to free his sister from her stone prison. Merrick grows more morose and can't figure out why Juliana didn't leave him a clue as to how to free her.

Juliana grows bored in her self-induced loneliness and tries to reason out why Merrick has not granted her wish and released her. Voices start to whisper to her, telling her the Unblessed King never loved her. She worries about their unborn child and visits what to her is a stone Merrick, trying to break through to him. Merrick finally gets his answers - but so it be too late to save his wife and child?

Ean, King of the Blessed, and his brother Merrick, King of the Unblessed, are at war, each believing the other started it. They may have had a little nudge. Julianna, who is pregnant with Merrick’s child wants the war ended and the brothers to come to a truce, if not reconciliation. She devises a plan. The witch who was supposed to help, betrayed her and she was turned to stone. She has been a statue in the garden for two years, and nothing Merrick has tried breaks the spell. He now believes that only a joined effort of him and Ean will bring Julianna and the baby back. This one is a page-turner with twists, turns, and shocks right up to the end. Lucien has a convoluted plan to rule all the realms, and the others, mortal and immortal, are determined to stop him. Can they save Julianna and the baby, and halt Lucien’s evil plan? The story ends with a successful rescue, a baby, two sprites who want to protect the baby, and an unexpected twist. Exciting.

Michelle M. Pillow creates a complex universe of good and evil, human and immortal beings. Not having read the two preceding books, I had to do some catching up to understand the varied and complicated relationships and politics in play. However, I was able to follow along reasonably well. Almost every character is deeply conflicted, which makes them interesting to watch as they grapple with finding a path through the yin and yang world of the Realm Immortal. Underlying most of the action is a search for love, in some form. No matter if you are blessed or damned, or somewhere in-between, everyone loves and wants to be loved. And loving beings with darkness running through their souls can lead to tragic consequences and deadly choices. There is a lot to unpack in this story, but it's a passionate adventure and I'd like to see more of these characters.

I really enjoyed reading the novels in this series. While it gave me a greater pleasure to know more of the background story prior to reading this novel, I think there was enough information introduced that this could be read as a standalone. Maybe. Juliana as the stone queen has put some interesting things in motion. Merrick, Ean, Lucien, as well as Hugh, Thomas and William all had a vested interest in what was going on while playing very different roles. I really liked watching all the elements of the blessed, unblessed as well as the wizard and mortal worlds whirling together as part of the plot. I think Mia/Ari is my new unsung hero here - particularly in her role within Lucien’s court and overall story. With a HEA and a touch of humour this was a wonderful conclusion to this fantasy series.

All of the book in this trilogy were good, but I liked this one the best. There was a lot of drama and tension, little twists that I didn't see coming, and lots of tension. This isn't the type of book I normally choose to read, because it is quite dark in places. But I really like this author's other series, so I tried this one. I have to say, it really highlights her range of writing! Julianna, Queen of the Unblessed loves her husband Merrick, King of the Unblessed, but is so tired of the war between him and his brother that she makes a desperate try to end it. The ensuing betrayal is the main thrust of this story, but there are many threads being woven together as the book gets closer and closer to the end. If you like dark fantasy with an imaginative and unusual world, with well written characters, give the Realm Immortal series and this book a look!

As the Queen of the Unblessed, Juliana had taken in some of Merrick’s powers. Her body began to feed on the death of the plants near her and destruction. She felt the dead die in the War between the Blessed and Unblessed. Merrick fears that his powers will harm Juliana and the babe she carries. Worried, she sends the sprights to her brother with a missive and turns herself to stone.

Halton and Gorman, the Queen’s sprights bicker constantly. It is both funny and annoying. Poor naive Juliana trusted those she should not. Great read but I still want to see Thomas hitched and what happens with William, Wolfe and Ladon.

Is this really the end of the immortal realm series? Because it does end quite abruptly, with so much still to happen.
I liked the first part the best, this part the least. While still good, I also find it sad, a lot of sad things happen, and since it's the last part, there's nothing left to improve on. What about the kidnapped and abused fairies? Lord Kalen? King Euan? Juliana and Merrick's brothers? Because Juliana and Merrick have their happy ending, and so do Hugh and Tania (in the previous book) but many people don't. And I find that quite disappointing.
In spite of this: the author's writing style is captivating and enjoyable.

"...a cycle of life. Peace had its turn and now so should war."

Merrick and Juliana were the focal characters of the first book in this series, and they move center stage again in this story of political machinations, betrayals, and love both romantic and between siblings / within families.

I love this Universe, the more time I spend in it, the more I want to read. This is a place of balance, and caught in the middle is Merrick, neither blessed nor damned, he is the necessary evil, the hard choices... and ultimately the King it is easiest to empathize with.

This is a rich Universe, full of engaging characters.

I was gifted with a copy of Stone Queen and chose to share my thoughts.

The Stone Queen is the third book in the series Realm Immortal, so I definitely recommend you to read the first two books before this one since the story is on-going.
We finally find out how Juliana ended up as a stone statue in Merrick’s secret garden. Merrick is getting more and more restless trying to free her and can’t figure out why Juliana didn’t leave him a clue.
In the meantime Juliana tries to reason out why Merrick has not released her yet and treacherous voices start whispering that the Unblessed King never loved her. She is worried not only for herself but also for their unborn child. Can Merrick save his wife and child before it’s too late? Read for yourself!.

Conclusion

I know it is just a story but the emotional impact is real. Getting involved with the characters and on the edge of angst as the situations escalate still grasp the readers attention. The conclusion of the trilogy is beautiful but bittersweet. The Stone Queen does break as foretold events are glimpsed but not defined. Really enjoyed this series. I want King Ean of the Blessed to get a happy ending even though he foretells his outcome and see what happens to the two imprisoned Princes and the final outcome for Ari & King Lucian of the Dammed. But I'd like to see Lord Kalan find his peace and happiness.

3 1/2 stars - I was able to follow this standalone story that is about Queen Juliana, a human, and her life choices after marrying King Merrick of the Unblessed. This story was engaging to read as Juliana who is pregnant and is tired of the war, tries to stop it by going to a witch who is captured in the dungeon. Juliana makes a bargain with the witch, only the witch turns her to stone. Now Merrick is trying to free her while Juliana tries to talk to Merrick from the stone world. With all the twist and turns in this story, will Merrick succeed? This romantic fantasy story I received was enjoyable to read and that I volunteer to review.

Juliana and Merrick's story continues.

This is the third story about Juliana and Merrick. You should definitely read the first two books before this one since the story is on-going. Juliana and Merrick have reached a new understanding. While Merrick can't actually say what he feels, he knows Juliana understands. Or at least he thought she did. When she fall prey to a trap and is turned to stone, things have to change. Great read, although it felt a little abrupt at the end and I would like to see more to the story. It was still enjoyable and I was really involved in the characters and their lives.

Having read the two earlier books I wondered what would happen in this book. Well, I got my answer - We find Juliana trying to pressure Merrick into ending the war, but she is betrayed and turned to stone. Now her brothers must find a way to undo the spell. Will they be successful? You'll have to read it for yourself, I'm not telling.

All three of the books have had good plots peopled by characters who are well developed, however, I felt that this book seemed to end abruptly leaving me somewhat disappointed, hence the 4 Star review. That said it was still an enjoyable read, I just wish it wasn't the last in the series.

This was an enjoyable read that took up where the past 2 books in the series left off. There was plenty of suspense and action to keep my attention. I was already invested in the series and the characters after reading the first two books and was quite satisfied with the conclusion. There are enough other interesting characters that if the author wanted too she could easily continue the series and I would love to see what happened in their storylines as well. Suffice it to say I enjoyed this storyline and the conclusion.

Great to get back to Merrick and Julianna from book 1 and their continuing adventure along with bringing in all the other characters from first two books to expand the adventures in the Immortal World and discover more of the people and places.
Another rocky rollercoaster of an engrossing adventure with twists, turns and unexpected storyline.
A mixture of action, love, power, great cast of characters, humour, romance and really enjoyable writing, narrative and descriptions.
Wonder if last in the series to form trilogy as would love more time and stories from this world and characters.

Michelle M Pillow threw everything into this final installment of the Real Immortal series.
It's got passion and intrigue. Deception and betrayal. Twists and turns like I've never read before. And a fascinating plot. My mind was taken on an interesting wild ride.
This is a main continuation of Merrick and Julianna's story and its highly recommended to read books 1 & 2 before jumping into this one.
It's a good book and worth the read. I, personally, just prefer her more "lighter" series. (i.e. Draig, Var, IGDA, Warlocks MacGregor, etc.)

As my title jokingly said this is a bit of a rocky ending to this trilogy of books from Michelle M. Pillow. Not only is the heroine a stone statue for most of the book but also most of the other various characters are running around not knowing what to do. This series did not go nearly the way I thought it would when I started it. The scope of it expanded and became much more involved. I personally loved reading it as it was very interesting and well written.

Loved This Story!! The suspense in the plot line kept me very concerned and filled with foreboding—there was so much going on that would affect the freeing of Juliana and the frustration Merrick has in not understanding what was happening. The intrigue is outstanding. There are a lot of surprises in store for the reader as this romantic fantasy tale progresses. You definitely need to read the first book in this series in order to understand what is happening in this book. I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Juliana is pregnant and that is not supposed to happen. She loves Merrick and knows he loves her but living the unblessed live is hard for them both. She makes a difficult choice to try and stop the war and it leads to total chaos. Lucien has plans to take over everything and if Merrick cannot figure out how to save Juliana all could be lost. This was my first book in this series and I was completely captured by the descriptive writing and the variety of worlds in this story. It was a really good read.

Michelle Pillow is a magician when it comes to capturing a sense of magic and intrigue in the final book of the Realm Immortal series. The twists and turns with revelations and hidden identities continue throughout and result in a rewarding conclusion - unexpected and greatly appreciated!

If you want a series to lose yourself in, look no further. These stories are tributaries leading into the torrents of wondrous storytelling culminating in the Stone Queen. Great read indeed.

This book Stone Queen is the continuation story of the Unblessed King Merrick And Lady Juliana. We started their beginning story in The King of Unblessed. Lady Juliana is a human that was taken to a different world. Now she lives with her husband who can’t say he loves her. Lucien the King of the Damned likes to create strife by invoking promises.
All three books are intertwined and should be read in order for maximum enjoyment.
