Zoe left home at the age of twenty when she found Jonas, the love of her life, in the arms of another woman. Ten years later she returns from London to help her brother keep their outback property in the family and out of the hands of the major shareholder—Jonas
But they each hold a secret. Jonas has called her back under false pretences and Zoe’s secret has the potential to destroy their love for ever. Will their love survive?
I swear I was born with a book in my hand and that is how I spent most of my childhood. That was fine until I got older and the voices in my head demanded to be heard and I started to write. The voices are no quieter but there are less of them.
Heroine, Zoe fled the Australian outback to London when she was twenty, leaving behind her roots and the love of her life, Hero, Jonas....who she found cheating on her in their 'special place'! Fast forward ten years and Zoe is summonsed back to the outback and has to face her fears and Jonas again, but this time she has a secret. Will she tell Jonas about there daughter, Lily or not?
This is my third Ann B Harrison book and I adored it as much as the last two (Taming the Outback and Red Hot). Harrison has a wonderful way with words and I found the story flowed effortlessly and naturally. The characters are realistic and the storyline is believable and sucks you in from the start. The descriptions are fantastic and several times I could imagine myself in the outback with the sun beating down on my skin. It's a real talent to make people 'feel' something when reading and with these two characters thats exactly what I did. Instantly I was rooting for the feisty Zoe and on her side. How could Jonas cheat on her - the dirty dog! But as the story unfolds, it all becomes clear. There are some scenes are scorching but more over I really liked the actions between Zoe and Jonas, the every day life on the estate, the mustering, how tender he is with her when she has one of her panic attacks, etc, which helps the reader create a picture of the characters and the emotional connection between them. I'm all for a happy ever after and this book offers a really lovely one at that.
Praise for Ann B Harrison! I'm looking forward to reading more from this lady.

The steamy conflict between Zoe and Jonas sizzles straight off the pages from the word go. Both are strong willed, stubborn, and both are keeping secrets from each other.
Zoe fled the family property years ago after finding the man she loved in the arms of another woman, taking more than her broken heart with her when she went. Now she is back, and Jonas is wanting more than she is willing to give.
Jonas--who has worked to make his fortune and is majority shareholder of Zoe's family's property--wants Zoe back in his life, and in his bed. With a little help from her brother, Brandon, Jonas has to work out a way to keep Zoe right where he wants her.
Outback Thunder is a delightful and heartwarming story, filled with refreshingly true-to-life Australiana, that is sure to not only capture your heart, but also send the temperature soaring. I look forward to reading more from Ann B. Harrison.
Loved this book. Ann B Harrison has a knack with depicting the outback so you feel as though you are really there...feeling the heat and breathing the red dust. The conflict builds beautifully as the two protagonists dance around each other. Keep writing outback stories, Ann B!
First off I have to say that as a rule "Novels"are not my first choice, but as I was lucky enough to receive a copy, I was pleasantly surprised that not only did I enjoy this book but will not pass them by again. Not having read Ann before, I really liked her style of writing, a nice relaxed way that just drew you in and then took off with a rush. I really enjoyed the characters and with out being way over the top, the Australian flavor was just right. Its nice to find a writer who knows we don't all live like crocodile Dundee, so well done. Zoe was is a wonderful character and its very clear right from the start that her and Jonas are meant to be together that you are all ready hoping that will happen. This would have been great as a full book but works so well as a Novella and in fact if you are an impatient reader like me, it was nice to get a resolution without sacrificing to much to do so. Ann writes very tasteful yet real sex, without it being porn, I hope that makes sense. I really did enjoy Outback Thunder and will certainly look forward to reading more of Ann. Jonas just oozes sex appeal and I have to say it was not hard to visualize what he may look like at all.
Even after ten years of braking up the lust between Jonas and Zoe doesn't fade away. What do the also discover when Zoe returns on false beliefs that she will lose her shares of the station if she doesn't help out is that neiter did love. But will they managed to forgive eachother for all the mistakes they made and all the secrets they hide?
This is my fifth book from Ann B. Harrison and as with previous books, I wasn't dissapointed with this one either. It's well written and if you have enough time, you can read it in one sitting...
I loved the story but can't help but think it'd be much better had it been a little longer. There was an aspect of the story that I felt could have been better expanded on. At the least, it has the potential for another book to follow.
Other than that, this book was hot! And I mean like holy moly hot. :)
This book delves into several issues that face people in remote rural areas everyday and deals with them with true grit. It shows a real emotion that exists in the people that are often thought to be devoid of it and explores it in a very sexy way. Once I started reading it, I had to finish. Love it....thumbs up
Firstly I loved the cover – that sky is to die for and although I know a cover doesn’t make a book it sets the ambience perfectly! The dialogue is beautifully scripted, so real and so Australian without the usual clichés and it compliments the interaction between the characters perfectly. This is Ann B Harrison’s third Outback romance – I hope she writes some more. Oh and it is pretty hot too!
A perfect Summers read,a bit of escapism! I read this book almost in one sitting as I was so involved in the charcters, especially Zoe and Jonas. The descriptions of the Australian outback were so detailed I could picture myself there! I recommend this book for a sunny afternoon read in the garden or on the beach!
What a fantastic read! I got caught in the story line right from the start. The story flows really well and the chemistry between Zoe and Jonas was great (and steamy). This is the third book I've read by Ann B. Harrison and I can't wait for her next novel!
Good bones to the storyline, but, let down by the fact that the lead female character is just not very likeable at all. She is kind of portrayed as being the tough Aussie-bred cowgirl, but, at the same time is completely immature, whiney and complaining.
This is a case of a good storyline propping up an unlikable character to make the book still fairly good in the end (as opposed to a good character making an even better story).
I always enjoy gutsy women who have rugged yet smooth guys mucking up their lives! Stories like these make me want to emigrate to Oz, and I can't wait to read more!
Zoe is an easy character to relate to, hot headed and stubborn. Jonas is a good man who knows what he wants. I have enjoyed reading how these two resolve the past to make their future.
