After reading reviews for this book it sounded like it was really good but I think I may have set my expectations a little too high.
But before I get into that let me get this rant out…
it happened. I have been waiting for 10 FREAKING BOOKS for this! and oh my God I’m still sobbing through my laughter at how adorable this is (of course this could be due to me still being hungover from the new Bad Batch episode (🥲) or the fact that it’s like 3am and I got 3 hours of sleep last night but I’m honestly not sure, take your pick). But Urvi! you cut the scene short and ended the book! you dragged the entire series and all of the 10 books I’ve read so far, why couldn’t you have dragged this one scene for us readers. my otp finally got together and now I have to wait like 3 weeks for our next audible credit because I’m broke.
my other otp on the other hand looks like it’s ruined :/ I’m stuck with Astrid and Lasgol as the only other couple 😒

ok moving on—
- the plot was like way more scattered than the others (which is saying something). I honestly can’t piece together a solid plot line nor can I remember what happened before or after what, it’s all just a blur of events. This book probably could have been separated into as many as three books and it would make more sense. Just too much happened with no sense of time.
- There were also too many characters to keep track of a lot of the time- and normally that’s fine but when they’re all supposed to be involved in the scene and yet you don’t have much description or a specific pov then it’s kind of confusing. Then there was the fact that the team would group together then split back up on different missions and tasks so they were literally always coming and going with different people. For example: the team splits up but it never really tells you who goes with who to where, so you’re left to puzzle out what is going on and have weird moments of “wait a second they’re here??? since when???” and it forces you to completely reimagine the scene. Now as someone who usually can see pictures when I read or actually focus on an audiobook, this was just a mess for me.
- The plot twists had such potential, like the ideas themselves were great with the betrayals, but… there was no foreshadowing (alright there was very minor foreshadowing but it can’t even really count properly). And like that’s what makes a plot twist a plot twist, the reader is able to look back and see it all falling into place or pick up on little things while they read that they could possibly connect. It’s what makes them fun and exciting and these just lacked that which really is a pity because there was so much betrayal and mystery and double crosses, like it could have been glorious.

alright all that not so pleasant bit behind us there were things I really liked—
- for one the political intrigue and mystery (and as mentioned above, the betrayals if I ignore the negative bits). I do think they should have let the king and his brother die because they really are terrible people and the world would be better off without them, but then again now we’ll get to see an unnamed person take the throne with some no doubt evil mastermind plans so that’ll be fun.
- Multiple povs so I didn’t only have to read from Lasgol’s pov thank God! (in fact I feel like the majority was Egil’s with maybe Viggo coming next so that’s even better). With the team splitting up the way they were it was nice to see what the others where up to even if their tasks didn’t really connect. Plus it saved me from having to read about Lasgol and Astrid “kissing with so much passion it left him breathless”.
- I personally found the Dark Rangers and how they worked really interesting. Which speaking of them— Mysteries from like the past 5 books have finally wrapped up. The assassination attempts and the Dark Rangers being two of many. Of course there’s still Camu and that frozen dragon so we’ll see how those unfold.

Overall it gets 3.4 stars which is rather generous so that’ll probably be lowered at some point over the next few days, that final scene probably saved it from getting like 2.9, it just made the book. But I am getting off track again— I’m kinda curious to see what the groups next problem is and who dies (because ONE OF THEM HAS TO DIE! I predicted Val’s whole thing the moment she showed up like 8 and a half books ago and this one is coming true too, just wait 😑) and now before I spiral off onto some other topic I shall end this review ;)

Great story

Such an in-depth story with a fast paced plot. I absolutely love these novels and can’t wait for another. They aren’t just for teen and young adults. Even us oldies love the clean and complex story lines of this great author.

Lasgol and co save the day - again....

Finally the gang got to bottom of everything.
Dark Rangers, assassinations and spies to name but a few. And usually by those closest to them!
Why people need or want that much power escapes me, still, they get their comeuppance n the end

SUCH A GREAT SERIES!!!

Each time I read the newest book in this series, I dread the reaching the end because I am afraid it will be the last one. I have read all of Pedro's series & thoroughly enjoyed them. I have to say that this one has been my favorite, & for the first time ever in my 60 years of reading, never have I wanted a story to continue. Keep them coming Pedro!!! Thank you so much!!!

The King has summoned all the leaders of the Rangers to a Great Council in the capital to discuss the problem of the Dark Rangers. Lasgol and Astrid are traveling to Count Malason’s estate on a mission for Egil, stopping briefly at Lasgol’s home. Viggo and Ingrid are assigned to the Ranger escort for the five Elder Elite Specialists of the Shelter to the Council meeting. While Egil and Gerd have been assigned to the group escorting the traitor Eyra to Norghania, tasked to make sure she arrives alive. None of them are happy about the Kings involvement in what is supposed to be just for the leaders of the Rangers, but they have no say in it.

This has a a very complicated plot with alot of twists and turns. Egil must be a genius, but he can't be the only one. You'd think with all the other Rangers that some of them would be smart enough to have come up with some of the ideas that the gang has had through the books so far.

Footnote: 1) Did you get the reference of Egil’s two ‘friends’ to Astaire & Rogers? Though it’s funny there’s no way Egil should have picked out those names since the stories in a different world.

Fave scenes: Sigrid’s defense plan, Milton in a mood with Lasgol, Viggo taking Lasgol’s advice and Egil taking to the hunters.

Major Plot Advancement, Impossible to Predict
The dark rangers plot was never that well developed, and the ending of it wasn't much better.
The two leaders are revealed based on brand new information, and would have been impossible to predict before their discovery. Was frustrating and unsatisfying.

Definitely also a lot of unclarity in why the Snow Panther's would be so gungho to protect a king and his brother know to be tyrants, bullies, and in one case a sadist. Just didn't seem that plausible.

The group splitting up to defend different parts of the caravans of attendees for the great council worked pretty well and was handled nicely. Some of the smaller skirmish type conflicts involved along the way were interesting and well described.

The establishment of the Snow Panthers as an elite Royal Eagles task force was a twist and curious how that will all turn out.

The final chapter advancing Viggo and Ingrid's relationship made it all worthwhile.

Several references to rangers being hired out to do missions in foreign countries so interesting potential future plots that would seem to focus on whats fun about these books, the close friends working together to accomplish a mission.

PERO QUÉ???!!! Todavía estoy procesando todo lo que pasó. Pedro Urvi me la coló bien colada la verdad. No me lo vi venir.

**********⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️SPOILERS⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️**********

I will be the elephant in the room.

I love the world hes created, but over time, I figured something out. You have to read these books as if you're a young reader, and you're a little open minded. The characters came off super self-righteous towards the end, and I wonder if anyone else picked it up.
Sporlier Alert

When traitors started calling a traitor, a traitor this book kinda lost me. Egil in King of the West literally caused many deaths with his plans. lasgol caused many deaths helping his mother. so when everyone called for Val's death , all she did was spy very poorly. It made the rest of the cast look very dumb, Like all the other people of that country. Plus, you only had to save the king. You could have let them kill his torturing and S assaulting brother. Also, I think the author really loves Astrid because I've seen many reviews that have negative opinions of her. I guess where stuck with her, especially because I don't think this he'll kill any snow panther.

I will have to admit that this one was well written with even more twists and turns than a lot of the other books in the series. It seems that Pedro Urvi only gets better with the more he writes in this series. You see I love a good book and he's got me hook line and sinker on this series. So much so that The past 3 books as well as for the next one "Frozen Origins" Book 11 I've pre-ordered even though it won't be released till the end of Oct.

I will have to admit that I was surprised though that one of the ones that were supposed to be among their tight knight group had turned out to be a traitor to them. I just hope that what they did doesn't come back to bite them in the end. As for the ending of this one I was almost sure we had lost a couple of the panthers. I have to give Mr. Urvi credit and praise for the excellent surprise ending. It even answered one of the questions I had asked him and In a great way. For this I thank you.

Decent story and ties up loose ends

Not dropping any spoilers but if you've liked the previous books in the series you're getting more of the same with a few twists. Many of our protagonists are maturing and leaving behind some affectations and gaining a deeper level of interactions.

The overarching story arcs continue and some of them play out to their satisfying end. Our heroes are placed on the nest phase of their path and the future promises more of the excitement and intrigue were used to seeing from the Snow Panthers.

As a very pleasant aside, I was pleased to see quality copy editing here - I've had a couple recent experiences with other authors where that was not the case. Thank you Mr Urvi for the care you take in presenting a finished work and hat tip to your editor as appropriate typo free reading is appreciated.

What a Tangled Web...

If you've read my previous reviews, you certainly know how much I'm enjoying this series.
This book has many surprises, (at least for me), and I was happy that many loose ends got securely tied up, (with Ranger knots.)
There is a great deal of action, devious planning, (on both sides), and a lot of hard work for the Snow Panthers. They must split up at times to be most effective, and while they are all excellent at what they do, they have always been best together!
Will each succeed with their part?
If not, it will be a disaster for, not only themselves, but for the kingdom.
Read and find out what happens to our heroes in the most important missions of their careers!

Spellbinding and Captivating

I’ve read all 10 books of the path of the ranger series. Pedro is a gifted author continually keeping you on the edge of your seat revealing the treacherous and dangerous life among the battles and schemes of royalty to siege the throne of norghania. meanwhile a group of close friends with the gift of friendship, honor, love and true integrity band together masterfully thwarting these plots. Pedro is a magnificent combination combining the masterful twisted plots and true fantasy. Making him an extravagant mixture of the angela lansbury in murder she wrote with all her plot twists and fantasy masterpiece of a caliber that truly rates among Tolkien, C.S.Lewis and George Macdonald. a truly gifted author.

This part of the series was more of the same. The characters hardly improved, the plot still has holes, and to make things worse, had explicit content for the age group this series is intended for. Plus this series is just repetitive, and it gets boring. There are several scenes where women are in extremely skimpy clothing. One example is a woman that is completely naked besides wearing a grand total of four starfishes to cover inappropriate areas. There is also a scene where a man and a woman are naked in a pond together. I don't think any of this should be included in a series that is meant for 9-12 year-olds. Again, this series was disappointing.

Great Plot, wasn't predictable at all. It was a very exciting read. I couldn't put it down. I had to continue reading until I knew all the facts and reveals. And boy was it worth it. It had everything. All the Snow Panthers played a part and were fantastic. Egil never fails to impress me.

If you've been reading the books prior, a big plot is over and with it being over certain goals of certain Snow Panthers can be reached. Though I'm pretty certain those ideas were teased in this book about their future advancements. I'm certain based on book 11 title another minor plot will be revealed in that one and excited for that possibility. Regardless I'm definitely continuing on this series.

I love this epic series!

The Path of the Ranger, books 1 through 10 are absolutely great! Each character adds to the life and flow of the story. I cannot explain in words how each book’s adventure holds my attention until the very end! The characters of the Snow Panthers are getting wiser, growing into their specialties, manage unexpected life events, and bonding with unheard of intelligent creatures! The author Pedro Urvi describes magic and interesting scenes incredibly well until I am hooked! I must say I am thankful to be hooked on every single book! Book 11 here I come!

Each book better than the last

When I first started reading this series I was very distracted by poor editing in the early books. The stories were well told though, so I kept reading. The character development and stories keep getting better. I have especially enjoyed the twists in the last couple of books.

I don’t often give books 5 stars and this is the first book in this series I have given 5 stars, but the author has earned it with compelling, good characters, well developed plots, and engaging story telling. I’m looking forward to more from him.

Weird idioms and grammar

The author has been using more and more complex idioms that simply do not work well in English. The grammar has also been getting worse as he tried to make it more complex. Its distracting from what is otherwise a very good story. This book sadly was way too predictable, but I like how we finally have some resolutions we have been waiting for a long time to realize.

This was a very interesting addition to the Path of the Ranger series. I throughly enjoyed the ending of the Dark Rangers storylines. I'm also hoping that some characters are going to reappear later in the series. I have to say that I was very genuially surprised by several of the reveals in this book. The last little bit of the book felt slightly unnecessary and that it could have occurred at an earlier point in the story.

What an Excellent Development in this Storyline

What a thrilling chapter ending. I have loved from the beginning how the White Panthers work so well as a group. Although at times some of them act as enemies, it becomes obvious how much love and respect they have towards each other. I was not surprised at the development between Ingrid and Viggo. As the saying goes...they both protested too much against the other.

Book 10

Book 10 was a fun read. The characters and plot have developed well. The plot was a bit predictable, but fun and did have some twists to it. The characters have grown throughout the series well and have some flaws brewing that might become a factor later in the series. I look forward to the next book.

Wraps up some plot lines

This book takes the team and gives them all a chance to be focused on, develops some of their empathy and finally elevates them to a place they can do their work more independently. It is good to move things forward while opening new opportunities for them.
