This book is, simply put, a simple transcription of the taped interviews between journalist K. Das (Veerasingam Kukathas) and Tunku Abdul Rahman. The interviews were part of Mr Das' information gathering exercise whose ultimate goal was to write an officially sanctioned autobiography of Tunku Abdul Rahman. However, the project was never completed due to Mr Das' untimely death.

As such, because of the fluid nature of the conversation between the two men, the book takes on a certain 'unedited' feel that is unique and refreshing. In fact, some of the late Tunku's very candid remarks about the people he once knew is absolutely priceless. (His comments concerning Tun Mahathir Mohamad alone is worth the price of hunting down this book) This book would be a delight to anyone wishing to take a more personal look at the late Tunku Abdul Rahman. It exposes his strengths as well as his foibles. A human side of the man that is seldom depicted in general literature.
