Elin Hilderbrand lives on Nantucket with her husband and their three young children. She grew up in Collegeville, Pennsylvania, and traveled extensively before settling on Nantucket, which has been the setting for her five previous novels. Hilderbrand is a graduate of Johns Hopkins University and the graduate fiction workshop at the University of Iowa.

This one is about a youngest daughter planning her wedding with a journal of “instructions” from her mother who passed away. I enjoyed hearing from the youngest sibling pov, as well as the other family members complicated relationships. A little wealthy out of touch vibes, but know that’s what you’re getting into
Also wild how much has changed since 2013 when this came out with technology and whatnot!

Beautiful Day by Elin Hilderbrand was such an enjoyable read. Even though it’s over 12 hours long, it never felt long. I loved the characters—they felt real, and I became invested in each of their stories. The story has a unique element that ties the family together throughout the wedding weekend, and it added so much heart and emotion. While it wasn’t quite a five-star read for me, it was warm, engaging, and hard to stop listening to. If you enjoy family dramas with memorable characters, emotion, and a beautiful beach setting, I definitely recommend it.
