At the close of the 20th Century, an ancient nun is murdered and a secret church relic is stolen. Decades later, a farm family in Nebraska is killed on Christmas morning. Bert Osborne, the eldest son, is delayed on returning home from graduate school and misses the killers by minutes. His youngest brother, Joshua, is kidnapped. Bert’s parents aren’t who he always believed them to be. Bert and Samantha, his fiancé, go on a cross country search for answers that will take them to the hospital room of an insane Nobel Prize winning geneticist, the studio of a television evangelist, the bowels of the Pentagon, and, ultimately, to the crossroads of the world. Bert and Samantha discover that nothing is as it seems, not even one another.

I really liked this book; however, the editing was horrible. I couldn't believe the mistakes that were throughout the book.
