Yesterday I almost made the mistake of doing a review of this book after reading just the three short stories. Now mind you the three stories are great and I would give them a five star review all on there own but........

If you really want a deeper look into the characters in these stories and even a glimpse into the mind of the author you really need to read the "Afterword". Upon reading the afterword you will learn a bit more about the characters in the story and how their individual personalities where the guiding force behind their own choices and how Mr. Campbell seems to have little control over how things turn out. If I were a believer in such things (and slowly I may be becoming one) I would think that there just might be a "Green Crystal Amulet" hanging around Mr. Campbell's neck causing things in his writings to take little unexpected twists and turns. No mater where the stories are coming from be it his own fun loving imagination or a green crystal I just hope that he never runs out of paper or number 2 pencils and that the folks of Ridgewood and the surrounding community continue to live lives of mystery and adventure for a long time to come.
