What a sweet little blast from his past! Ren “Ghost” Ramsey hadn’t planned on taking a trip back in time while Stateside with SEAL Team Arapaho but that’s what he gets when sweet Sadie Ballew buys a plane ticket to Key West and makes an offer he can’t refuse. Back in small town Oklahoma, he’d been the local bad boy complete with a chip on his shoulder and she’d been the only person who’d loved him despite it all. She’d been a girl then but things are a hell of a lot different now and Ren wants nothing more than to burn up the sheets with the sassy lady.
Ren was a man now. And what a man! Now a SEAL known as Ghost, a complete badass, infiltrator and spy, Sadie sees only the boy she’d loved and lost all those many years ago. His little R & R is just the excuse she needs to see if she’s woman enough to heat things up between them and claim him for her own…once and for all. Is she up for the challenge? Hoorah! Sadie is a woman who exactly what she wants… Ren in her bed and in her life.

4 Stars! I was touched by Ghost! Sweet friends to lovers story!
Ren "Ghost" Ramsey hasn't seen his childhood friend in years. Sadie Ballew has come to Key West to catch up with Ren, but she also wants to let him know what her true feelings are for him. She's been in love with him for years, and shy and unsure, she's determined to speak her piece and let the chips fall where they may.
Well the chips and the two of them fall into bed, that's basically what this series is about, they get right down to business. However, I enjoyed the sweet relationship that Ren and Sadie had, and they truly cared for each other. Ren wants her as his own, but he knows the life he leads is not what most woman are looking for. Tell that to Sadie...oooooh she gives it to him good...tells him like it is!!
“Coward. I don’t want some wonderful man. I want you. Of all people, I thought you’d be man enough to face things head on, but instead, you’re ready to run like a big baby. Don’t tell me lies and expect me to buy it like a pansy-ass."
And that's just the half of it. What a spitfire! Make-up sex is FUN!!
The pager goes off, Ren has to run, but the reader knows where they stand by the end of the book, it's all good. BUT, I want MORE, MORE, MORE!
On to Zues' book and that should be the last of the men on the team. However, consider this a threat you Seven Sassy Authors (yes, that's what they are called on their website)...I better get my book 8, with everything wrapped up nice and tidy, or I'm throwing a hissy fit and it's not going to be pretty! So get your Seven Sassy pens moving, and wrap this series up for me!
Oh, wait, hold that thought, I see there is an epilogue at the end of Zues' book....squeeeee, I think I might have spoken too soon. Sorry ladies. I won't remove my threat until I'm done with the book 7!
Ren and Sadie have one of those friends to lovers things going on and IT WORKS SO NICELY! Now, it might be that Ren is ten levels of hot or that Sadie is a little uncertain about how her advances will be taken but... it worked!
You know what I've noticed? These SEALs don't hold themselves back when it comes to making sure their lady friends have a happy ending. Or six. Rock on, Team Arapahoe. ROCK ON!
A short series of sexy seal romances, this one focuses on the reunion of two childhood friends who fall in love. It’s short and sexy and worth reading.
OMG...This is the first time I read Regina Carlysle and let me say, she keeps it as real as it gets.
This is another story in the series SEALs on Fire. I've read most of them, I think I may just have two more to read, but from all of the ones I've read, this is one of my favorite ones.
Ghost and his comrades are in town for a short break after a mission in the Middle East. He doesn't know how long he has to relax but plans to make the best of it. Like his other friends, he plans to have a good time both in and out of bed. The only thing is: he must see to a close friend first. As soon as he has dinner with her and bids her adieu he plans to join the rest of his friends at the bar and pick up any woman who wants to go home with him, no promises asked.
What he doesn't expect is for Sadie to look as good as she does. He's always had a thing for her but would never act on it because Sadie is a dear friend, for starters. Then, he feels she deserves someone better than him, someone that can give her what he can't promise her.
Sadie has had it. She's always had Ghost's attention but not the way she wants it. She wants to taste this man, she wants to know what is like to kiss him, be in his arms, she wants him. She no longer is the little girl she once was and it is now or never. So without a second thought, she kisses him. He can push her away, or he can give her the night she's dreamed of. To her surprise, Ghost doesn't push her away. Instead, he opens up and demands she give him more than she offers, consequences be damned.
I LOVED this story. The way Regina describes the characters' actions is just so darn real, it made think of...well...um, yeah. Anyway, in my opinion this is thus far the best story in these series. I thoroughly enjoyed it and look forward to read more of Regina's work.
I love friends to lovers stories! I will always have a soft spot of them and Touching Ghost was hot addition to the group! I loved how Sadie was Ren's only source of light during his childhood years and how much he adored her even if he was afraid to do anything about the growing attraction. Sadie though is not and she's about to speak her peace and see what happens, either Ren rejects her or they can finally become more than friends.
I really enjoyed reading Sadie, she was the sweet girl next door and a smart doctor to boot - and when with Ren she developed a sexy sensual side. She made the sweet side to the story very believable. Now Ren, the big, bad and built SEAL was all against hurting Sadie which he reasoned his navy career would do, and him using that speech as pillow talk sure fires some sparks courtesy of Sadie! I love a girl who doesn't cower back!
The romance was sweet but in a very erotic romance way. What am I saying? Okay let me be specific: I loved the sweet love story of Ren and Sadie, the desire, the love and the respect, but the sex was awesome too! ;)
Another top notch SEAL story from SEALs on Fire Anthology!
Love a friends-to-lovers story? Then this quick steamy novella might be for you. It is book 6 in the Seals of Fire series but can be read as a standalone.
It’s sweet, romantic and steamy as we see these long time friends, Ren and Sadie, move their relationship into something more.
Touching Ghost is a fast read, there isn’t a lot of character development and the book only spans a couple of days. But I did feel like there was more of a story to tell for Ren and Sadie. There seemed to be an interesting back story to them and I would have like to have learnt more about it.
Overall, it’s not a bad read and the writing was pretty good with likeable characters. I would gladly read more of this authors work.
Ren "Ghost" Ramsey and Sadie Ballew have formed a close friendship since childhood. Ren had an abusive, alcoholic father and a dysfunctional family. Sadie was the only child and came from a well to do family. When Ren and his Navy SEAL team are on break at Key West, Sadie decides to meet up with him. This time she's determined to let him know exactly how she feels. They have a sexy, steamy time together but because of Ren's past, he feels he is not worthy of Sadie. But Sadie refuses to take no for an answer.
"Living can be scary. Loving can be terrifying. Sometimes you just have to go for it." ~Sadie
Compleat and utter tripe! I had to stop reading this it was SO awful. So glad I didnt pay money for this. Its like a Xrated verson of a naval recruiting add. "It's a dangerous world out there, and taking out just one more bad guy makes me sleep a lot better at night." Riiiiiight... Poll some Afghanistan vets n ask if they sleep better after killing people. I'd quote other lines in this book but they were just so freakin hokey... ugh. yeah its safe to say I wouldnt recomend this book... Unless maybe you have some corny GI Joe fantasys.
The sweetest book among this series! I loved this short little hot book. The heroine Sadie was the sweetest of all, and makes me want to go into my library and read every Regina Carlysle book I have if she can write characters like these. I just wanted a longer story, I hope these are short reads are somehow going to be put into a longer book, because they are all very well written and my favorite type of book to read but they need to be a lot longer to be appreciated.
This story by far has to be one of my favorites. Although, I loved them all so far with one more to read. But, the childhood connection Ghost & Doc had & the the memories from back them that has kept them both safe & sane is endearing. Their erotic encounters you can just feel the love all the way to your toes without any declarations. Will they be able to get past the bed & into a future read on & see what happens along their path.
1.5 Basically all sex, of the raunchy, 'ram it home' and 'pound away' sort. I thought the language crude and unappealing, especially since it was supposed to be romantic instead of faceless f-ing. It was also repetitive, as phrases were oft reused from scene to scene. All talk of patriotism and the SEALs also felt artificial and stilted, more like how a recruiting pamphlet reads than how soldiers/navy-men would talk about themselves. Despite being a part of a series the book stood alone.
This one is my absolute favorite so far in the series. Ren is adorable, and charming and has a little bit of hurt under his rugged SEAL exterior. I really love his chemistry with Sadie, and the way he cares so much for her. This one is more romance I think than anything--Ren is still very much an alpha male, but he treats Sadie so well and he's not as aggressive as the others. I just love this one so much. Seriously one of my favorites.
Sadie was sweet, she's a pediatrician and Ren (Ghost's) childhood best friend. She's alaways been in love with him and he's always wanted her but never felt he was good enough.
This story was sweet and a bit predictable but don't get me wrong, the love scenes were smoking. I liked how Sadie fought for Ren.
HOT, and Sexy. I do hope their is a follow up so I can find out what happened to all the Seals. Great Erotic Series.
***NOTE this is an Erotic Romance the book revolves around sex if that isn't what you are looking for then don't pick up this book. If you are looking so something short and NOT so sweet but very hot this is a great series.***
The sex is hot, both characters likable and they have chemistry. What bothered me was the blast from the past kind of idea that both characters had from each other. People change, they add layers of personalities on top of each layer and become a combination of their experiences and ideals. Why looking for something that is in the past and didn't satisfy in the first place?
Reason for DNF: You know books where they add the word Navy SEAL just so it'll pique people's interest? Well, this was one of them. Very generic and not enough detail. Maybe a 3.5 star at most. (I was halfway through).
Ren, Ren, Ren.... I am so happy that whippersnapper got you in your place. That was one hell of a proposal. I so need a continuation of all the books in the series. They are too HOT and I want more. Ghost ;)
I liked it better before the ending when he thinks. "He’d return one day soon, when the world was safer and the violence was tamed, to claim his future and his love." I guess if he is waiting for that they will never be together.
This is a great friends to lovers short story. The end leaves you in a good place with the characters taking things as they come. I'd love to see a full length book from these characters or even the series. I will be checking out other books my Ms. Carlysle.
It was ok for a short story. I wouldn't recommend it but don't feel the need to completely bash it either. There were some extremely corny lines but again-it's a free short story I didn't expect much. And that's exactly what I got.
I got this book as a free download and I really liked it. It had everything you could want, great characters, steamy romance and a good story line. I had a hard time putting it down and read it in record time. I can't wait to see what will happen next to our "Seals on Fire".
A very quick enjoyable read. Plenty of pulse pounding moments and alas the HEA. Not a heck of a lot of plot here other than "Boy wants, girl wants, Boy's a SEAL...should he or shouldn't he fall in love." Short and sweet story.
