265 books1,832 followersI don’t know about you, but when I check out an author's bio, it’s usually because I’ve read a book I liked and wondered about the person behind it. Let's skip the formal bio and I'll give you the inside scoop on who Roxanne St. Claire really is.
First of all, call me Rocki. Everyone does. Evidently, when my mother brought me home from the hospital I seemed too scrawny and small to pull off “Roxanne” (she’d read Cyrano de Bergerac while pregnant or I would have been Judy) so they called me Rocki.
I grew up in Pittsburgh, PA, the youngest of five (overachievers, every one), and fell in love with words and stories the summer I read Gone With The Wind. That year, for my twelfth birthday, my parents gave me a typewriter (with italic font – it was the coolest thing) and from that day on, I’ve had my fingers on a keyboard, pounding out love stories for fun. My AP English teacher taught me the two most important lessons an aspiring author ever needs: 1) verbs are the key to life and 2) a writer should get a real job. After attending UCLA and graduating with a degree in communications, I tried acting and television broadcasting. Oh, they aren’t real jobs? I learned that the hard way. I changed my last name from Zink to St. Claire because a news producer told me Roxanne Zink had too many harsh consonants for a TV personality – apparently Katie Couric didn’t get the memo. I got some fun gigs, and even met Tom Hanks when I did a guest appearance on Bosom Buddies. I liked on camera work, but wasn’t too crazy about starvation, so I moved to Boston and got that “real” job. In fact, I placed my foot on the bottom rung of the corporate ladder and didn’t look down until I’d climbed all the way up to the level of Senior Vice President at the world’s largest public relations firm. On the way up, I met the man of my dreams in an elevator. Two years later – in the same elevator! – he asked me to marry him and I wisely said yes.
I stayed in PR, moved to Miami, had a few babies, lost my home in a hurricane, built another one a few hours north and all along, I kept writing my “stories” for fun. One night, I read a particularly fabulous romance novel that changed my life for good. That night, I decided I wanted to make someone else feel as whole and happy as that author made me feel. (Everyone asks! It was Nobody’s Baby But Mine by Susan Elizabeth Phillips.) With two small children and one big “real” job, writing my first novel wasn’t easy, but I did finish a manuscript that managed to get the attention of a literary agent. She told me to do one thing and one thing fast: write another book. (The first one is usually a “learner” book, honestly.) That second manuscript sold to Simon & Schuster’s Pocket Books and was released in 2003 as Tropical Getaway. Since then, I’ve written almost thirty more, in multiple genres, and long ago replaced the corporate ladder with the rollercoaster of publishing as a full-time novelist. Finally, writing is my real job.
Today, I live in a small beach community in Florida with my husband and two dogs. Our kids are off to college and law school, which means my nest is empty! I spend my time writing, working with the kids at my church, enjoying my husband's gourmet cooking, and hanging with my many writer friends. Of course, I love to read. I’m still crazy about words and stories and hope to write at least a hundred books in my lifetime. And, yes, verbs are the key to life. My favorites? Love. Work. Believe.

Romantic suspense at its finest. Sizzling chemistry between Alex and Jazz, fast-paced action, hot bodyguards, and hero-to-die-for Alex Romero. I'm looking forward to reading more of the Bullet Catcher books by Roxanne St. Claire.

Series is set in sexy, hot and steamy Miami.
The hero, Alex Romero, sexy, talented, skilled and dangerous bodyguard is hired to protect Jessica Adams, a Miami TV anchorwoman. The heroine, Jazz Adams, Jessica's twin sister and PI has agreed to cover for her sister for a few days.
Her sister missing, Jazz now has rely on the pesky bodyguard to help her discover what has happened to Jessica.
Intrigue, suspense, danger, bad guys...........hell, these two go on a journey filled with some action-packed chases, mystery interwoven with a sexy and sensual love story!!! The sex scenes were hot without being too graphic, which didn't detract from the steamy feel!!
I like the idea of the series......an elite force of highly trained and skilled bodyguards, The Bullet Catchers.....(I love that name.....it's so off the wall..........)specializing in security for high end clients and best of all...........the boss............an amazing and clever WOMAN, ex CIA operative, named Lucy Sharpe!!!
This was a well-written, breezy and easy read and I am actually looking forward to the next book.

Kill Me Twice is the first book in Roxanne St. Claire’s Bullet Catcher series. This book introduces Lucy Sharpe’s security firm Bullet Catchers. This elite group of men and women protect hand-picked clients, mostly royalty, heads of state, and the very rich.
Kill Me Twice focuses on Bullet Catcher Alex Romero. Come on, even his name sounds sexy. Alex is tall, dark, handsome, sculpted, drop-dead gorgeous, and a bit of a ladies’ man. Alex disgraced the Bullet Catchers on his last assignment with an unplanned dalliance. This next assignment is his last chance to redeem himself. His job – protect news anchorwoman Jessica Adams from a stalker.
Jessica has a twin sister, Jasmine. Jasmine, or Jazz as she is called throughout the book is a private investigator based in San Francisco. Jazz agreed to fly out to Miami and impersonate her sister while Jessica researches a story. As Jazz enters Jessica’s apartment, she is accosted by Alex who is waiting to tell her all about her security deficiencies. And so begins the sexual tension between Alex and Jazz…
The Heat Factor : The story is set in Miami. It’s hot and steamy there – and I’m not only talking about the weather. The hero is originally from Cuba and sounds so sexy when he speaks Spanish. Which he does often, especially when Jazz turns him on…
Nice chemistry between these two characters.
The Story: This was an enjoyable read for me. It was a nice escape for a summer afternoon read by the pool. There were some great twists and turns here and there, but it was a little predictable. I loved the actions scenes near the end. If I ever needed a body guard, I ‘d want the Bullet Catchers team on my side.
The Characters: Alex was really easy to like. Most of the time alpha males are in conflict with the women in their lives, but in this book, Jazz just seemed to put Alex a little bit off balance. There was more to Alex than hired muscle. Alex was dedicated to his family in Cuba and sent them quite a lot of money. I adored Jazz. She did have her impulsive moments, but for the most part she used her intelligence and her mad computer skills to help find her sister.
If you enjoy romantic suspense, hunky alpha males and intelligent heroines then this may be the series for you. There are 8 books and 2 short stories in this series.

You know how sometimes the first book of a series is just kind of meh because there is so much character development and introduction of future characters. You only just kind of like it, so you rate it three stars. Well that is NOT why this book got a three star rating from me. It got three stars because there was NOT enough character development where the hero was concerned and way too much of the TSTL heroine. Alex had so much promise as a hero. There was so much more I wanted to know about Alex. Somehow he manages to see qualities that I just didn’t see in Jazz, the heroine. In fact I thought she was an irresponsible annoying whinny baby. She was supposed to be a PI, but if that were the case she must really not have been a very good one. She missed so many clues that her twin was really missing and not just working on to some big story. Her lackadaisical attitude was ridiculous.
It has taken me close to a year and a half to get my hands on the books in this series, so I plan on reading all of them. I only hope that they get a little bit better. I have heard really good things about Roxanne St Clair; I just hope that I won’t be disappointed.

Love this book and Roxanne St. Clair has just been added to my list of must read authors. I started with her backlist and am working my way through. All the books are very good and the Bullet Catchers Series is off to a great start.
How did Alex, bodyguard extraordinaire, find himself in the position of protecting the wrong person? Identical twins, Jasmine and Jessica have switched places. Jasmine is a PI and Jessica is the anchor for a TV station in Miami. Jessica is hot on the heels is a sensational news story that is guaranteed to get her National exposure. Jessica has also disappeared, but no one is even aware because Jazz and Jessica planned it all. Except, Jazz and Jessica never touched base before Jessica pulled her vanishing act.
Alex is the top bodyguard with the Bullet Catchers, an elite group that provides protection to only select clients and his current assignment of protecting a local newscaster from a stalker just isn't up to that level. He is currently on probation after the wife of his last Principal got a little handsy and her husband found out. What can you expect, Alex is the hottest export from Cuba to the United States. When he finds out that Jazz isn't Jessica he isn't sure how to proceed, but the threat is still there and he will protect his Principal no matter who she is.

4 stars - Romantic Suspense
Kill Me Twice, the first novel in Roxanne St. Claire's Bullet Catchers series, has an intriguing and fast paced plot, interesting characters, and the right mix of suspense and romance. The sexy, latin alpha male bodyguard hero Alejandro "Alex" Romero and feisty PI heroine Jasmine "Jazz" Adams have steamy chemistry, and the romantic development doesn't distract from the suspense/mystery of the story and vice versa. There are a lot of bodyguard themes in the romantic suspense genre, but Claire's Bullet Catchers series manages to stand out.

You know how the term "B movie" is used for all those movies that are just to cheesy, over-the-top or just plain not well acted enough to really be taken seriously, but are sometimes fun to watch just the same? Well, this book would be the perfect example if there were a term like that for books (MAN, I wish there was!) The premise is great, the suspense is good, but the actual experience is a lesson in annoyance and frustration if one is looking for intelligent, believable romantic/suspense. If, however, one is just looking for a frolic that doesn't necessarily make any sense but is fun to read, here's your story!
Why? Let me list a few of the reasons... First and foremost the heroine. There is not enough eye-rolling in the world to cover this chick. TSTL can't explain it because, for all the stupid, and I mean STUPID decisions she makes, Ms. St. Clare, insists she is such a go-getting genius that she should be considered among the worlds best protective service agents. Whhhaaaaat??? That is so far-fetched, the mind can't even begin to wrap around it.
Second, Alex (our hero)... While he is the epitome of "Latin Lover," he is not given enough depth to make any of the emotions real. We are told about him but we never get enough actual insight to see anything of him - aside from the hot physical stuff, of course. That takes frustrating to a whole new level in this book. We WANT to feel those emotions we are being told about - why can't we?!?! Maybe it's all those incredibly, sexy Spanish expressions that pepper almost every page that ARE. NEVER. TRANSLATED! Those of us who don't speak that language are left in the dark every time he says anything that might allow us to delve into his feelings. Or it might be the fact that, although he repeatedly expresses his commitment to stay with Jazz forever throughout the book.... he leaves. *blahlelalalala* (that is being done while rattling the head.)
And third, the vast majority of the plot itself if made up of cliche's one would find in the worst B movie. From the ultra conservative Christian wacko (oh get over that, already!) to the wallpaper porn story bad guys, to the accomplice that is just trying to save her kid, each come across as titillating - at the expense of intelligent - writing.
OK, ok! Enough of the grousing. I know I am in the very small minority here and though it may not seem so, I have read other Roxanne St. Claire offerings and have absolutely loved them. Many others highly recommend this series so I'm choosing to believe this is a fluke and will assuredly pick up another of her books, hoping for the best.

Alex Romero is a security specialist/bodyguard with Bullet Catchers, a private security firm headed by Lucy Sharpe, an ex-CIA agent. He's been assigned to guard a Miami news anchor, Jessica Adams, who has received threatening emails from a stalker. Her new boss has ordered the security, however, Jessica is working secretly on an investigative piece and asked her identical twin, Jasmine "Jazz" Adams, to pretend to be her while she continues her covert investigation.
The fun starts when Jazz shows up and Alex is waiting for her in Jessica's apartment. Once he learns of the pretense, they continue the ruse and it soon becomes clear that nothing is as it seems. Jessica is out of communication and they are unsure if that's deliberate or if she's in trouble. It's unclear who can be trusted and exactly what Jessica may be investigating. Meanwhile, Jazz and Alex are struggling to fight their attraction, he because it's unprofessional and his job would be at risk and she because he seems to want to take care of her when she can take care of herself.
The story moves rapidly and you have to digest character details quickly to keep up with all the transitions. It works well for this mystery and you vacillate between believing Jessica is in danger or not, whether you can trust this or that person or not and who exactly are the bad guys. The ending is exciting with an unexpected twist i never saw coming. What doesn't work as well is the romance between Alex and Jazz. His emotional connection is pretty clear but Jazz is a bit murkier as much attention was devoted to their physical connection. It was difficult for me to invest in their romance though I rooted for them by the end of the story.

This first book in the Bullet Catchers series had sucked me in (hook, line, and sinker)!
I first read Tropical Getaway by this author...it was an OK read but nothing earth shattering. Kill Me Twice is pretty earth shattering. I was rivoted to each page and couldn't wait to see what would happen next! The thing I most appreciated about this book is the perfect balance that St. Claire achieves of romance AND suspence. All to often a Rom/Sus book is weighted to heavily on one or the other. Alex Romero is the bodyguard of my dreams...and the sexual tension between he and Jazz is written cleverly and seductively. I completely bought in to this relationship. The suspense was good and I liked the plot line of a "missing twin" the other twin is searching for. The villain is hard to guess and the ending is fast-paced and an "edge of your seater"!
Most of all, the secondary characters did not take away from the story, but each is screaming for a book of their own...luckily for me I'm getting into this series "late" and I don't have to "wait"! The only thing is....I want a bullet catcher for Jessica (the other twin)!

All to often a Rom/Sus book is weighted to heavily on one or the other. Alex Romero is the bodyguard of my dreams...and the sexual tension between he and Jazz is written cleverly and seductively. I completely bought in to this relationship. The suspense was good and I liked the plot line of a "missing twin" the other twin is searching for. The villain is hard to guess and the ending is fast-paced and an "edge of your seater"!
Most of all, the secondary characters did not take away from the story, but each is screaming for a book of their own...luckily for me I'm getting into this series "late" and I don't have to "wait"! The only thing is....I want a bullet catcher for Jessica (the other twin)!

Overall this was a pretty good book. I think this series has a lot of potential. Kill Me Twice reminded me of Cindy Gerard's books; both because of the characters and the plot.
Alex Romero has Cuban ancestry and family ties in Miami, Florida. He's boss, Lucy Sharpe, knows this and has deliberately given Alex an assignment in Miami, as a test. Alex must act as the Bodyguard for Jessica Adams, a rising star in TV journalism.
But there is a catch. When Alex arrives in Miami, Jessica is nowhere to be found. In Jessica's place is her identical twin sister, Jasmine-Jazz-Adams. Jazz is a PI out of LA, and she has come to Miami because her sister called and said she needed help. But with Jessica going AWOL Jazz and Alex must work together as a team to discover what has happened to Jasmin's sister.

There are few things in life that I know for certain. Death. Taxes. And...
This is the first Bullet Catcher book and I do not believe that this series needs to be read in any order. In fact, the author's website is unclear. She has two sets of "bullet catcher trilogies" and threw in a couple others as anthologies as well.
I've read the first "trilogy" and can say for a fact that they do not need to be read in order. They are related, but with totally different story lines.
I used the publishing dates to put this series in some kind of order and if anyone knows differently, please drop me a note. I just couldn't put "Bullet Catcher Trilogy, Book #2"--twice for each trilogy. That's just confusing.
I looked into separating her trilogies by year as the new trilogy would be all coming out in 2008, but the 2007 trilogy wouldn't apply because one was 2006...so (whew).
I ordered them on Goodreads.com by publishing dates.

It was okay. I never felt that the lead h/h were ever in any real danger and their 'love' for each other seemed too haste and forced. There was some major lust going on for sure, but I never really felt the love. Even so it was a quick, fun read which is really all I came into this book expecting. I'll definitely give the other books in the series a chance, I just wont rush out to buy them.

Ack! Once again I bought a book I've already read. It probably says something about how much I enjoy the Bulletcatcher series. Of course, it was the only book I had taken to dinner with me. Fortunately, I chose to eat at the restaurant right next door to Half-Price books!

This is my first book by Roxanne St Claire, and likely to be my last. The story was ok, the plot had an interesting twist, but the characters lacked depth and the writing was so-so.

Not sure why the 11th-hour new villain needed to be added. The other crazy one was working just fine. Seemed to come out of nowhere for more of a surprise than moving the plot forward. And he could tell the difference between the twins at a crowded bar at night from across the room but not in daylight when she’s standing half a foot away? Shoulda just kept Mr. Righteous Man as the lead crazy.

Nach einigen guten Rezensinen die ich bereits gelesen habe war ich nun doch sehr gespannt was mich im ersten Band der Bullet Catcher Reihe erwarten wird. Ich habe zwar schon Romantic Thrill gelesen, dennoch gefällt mir nicht alles aus diesem Genre und so freut es mich absolut sagen zu können: Dieses Buch ist der Hammer!
Anfänglich hatte ich noch meine Zweifel mit der Namensgebung in diesem Buch, denn die Eineiigen Zwillingsschwestern heißen Jasmine und Jessica. Abgekürze: Jazz und Jess. Klingt für mich wenn ich es ausspreche einfach gleich. Doch wider meiner Erwartung stiftet dies dann doch keinerlei verwirrung, es hebt eher die Verbindung der beiden Schwestern hervor. Wie soll ich sagen: Es zeigt klarer, dass es sich hier um Zwillinge handelt.
Die Protagonisten sind schnell klar. Es handelt sich hier um Jasmine Adams (oder auch: Jazz) und Alex Romero. Jasmine ist eine sehr toughe Frau, die bei gelegenheit sehr überraschende Fähigkeiten an den Tag legt: Sie kann mit einer Pistole umgehen und sie ist eine begnadete Hackerin. Alles in allem ist sie ein sehr störrischer Charakter, denn sie lebt ihr leben gerne nach ihren eigenen Regeln und lässt sich ungern vorschreiben was sie zu tun oder zu lassen hat. Sie will einfach unabhänging sein, kann auf sich selber aufpassen und zeigt - wenn nötig - auch einmal ihre biestige Seite.
Alex dagegen ist ganz und gar Bodyguard, denn schon von klein auf war er der "Herr im Haus", da sein Vater früh verstarb und dies in einer kubanischen Familie so sitte ist. Jazz hält ihn oft für einen Macho, denn er hat gerne das sagen und kann sich nur schwerlich unterordnen. Außerdem ist er mit seinem sexy, verruchten Aussehen und seinen spanischen Wurzeln sehr der Typ "Frauenschwarm" und genau das macht Jazz so vorsichtig bei ihm.
Im vordergrund des Geschehens steht nicht die Romantic, sondern die Suche nach Jazz' Zwillingsschwester Jessica. Dabei ist es auf keinen Fall einfach, dass sich die Meinungen der Hauptcharaktere diesbezüglich niemals auf einen Nenner bringen lassen. Zu beginn ist Jazz davon überzeugt, dass ihre Schwester nur für einen Fall ermittelt und sich bald melden wird und Alex beharrt darauf, sie müssten nach ihr suchen. Später ist dann Jazz der Meinung es sei etwas ganz und gar nicht in Ordnung und Jessica würde in Gefahr schweben, Alex allerdings ist zu der Zeit davon überzeugt, dass Jessica lediglich an einem Fall arbeitet. Dem Leser wird also keinesfalls langweilig. Mir hat gerade dieses uneinige besonders gefallen, denn es gibt jedes Mal hinweise auf sowohl das eine als auch das andere.
Die Liebesgeschichte der beiden ist einfach nur prickelnd und mitreißend. Ich kann es gar nicht anders ausdrücken. Und auf jeden Fall absolut Leidenschaftlich. Wie bereits erwähnt, steht diese nicht im Vordergrund, dennoch ist dies nicht negativ zu werten. Durch diese Unterschwellige Entwicklung wirkt das Ganze echt und greifbar, weder aufgesetzt oder übereilt. Gewürzt mit einer Prise Verzweiflung am Schluss des Romans wird der Leser noch einmal richtig mitgerissen.
Neben den Hauptcharakteren lernt der Leser auch noch weitere Personen kennen, die Sicherlich im weiteren Verlauf der Reihe noch eine Rolle spielen werden. So ist da beispielsweise Lucy, die Gründerin und Cheffin der Bullet Catcher und auch Max, den wir dann im zweiten Band kennenlernen werden.
Ich bin also absolut begeistert von diesem Buch und freue mich natürlich richtig darauf bald den nächsten Band zu lesen. Alles in allem ist diese Aktiongeladene, mit Thrill-Komponenten durchzogene, leidenschaftlich heiße Geschichte nicht zu verachten. Sie ist durch und durch empfehlenswert, die der sexy Alex und die starke Jazz gehen als Team durchaus unter die Haut. Kill Me Twice is the first book in Roxanne St. Clare's Bullet Catchers series. Alex Romero works for the elite, covert team as a spy, bodyguard and security specialist. Now, he has to pay the price since he screwed up his last mission. He has been assigned to babysit news anchor Jessica Adams. It's not exactly the assignment of his dreams. Only when he arrives in Miami, it isn't Jessica whom he meets, it is her twin sister Jazz, who immediately gets under his skin. Jazz is pretending to be Jessica while she investigates a hot news story. Soon, it becomes apparent that the story Jessica is following has turned dangerous and Jazz, with the help of Alex, will fight to keep Jessica safe.
Kill Me Twice is a fun, fast read. It has many of my favorite features in a romance book. It has smart and witty dialogue between the hero and heroine. It has a sexy, confidant heroine who has no trouble at all bringing the hero to his knees. It also has the macho hero with an over protective streak, a mile wide. This book had no problems keeping me entertained.
Jazz Adams is a strong, independent woman. Although, when the book begins she just doesn't know it yet. She feels more like she has always lived in her sister, Jessica's shadow. Now that Jessica needs her, she wants to prove to her sister that she can be the one to offer help. As Jazz uncovers the mystery surrounding her sister, she grows more confident in her own abilities. I really enjoyed the growth that Jazz displayed throughout the story. My one complaint would be how long it took Jazz to accept that Jessica was actually in trouble. I think she denied it a lot longer than she should have, when all the clues where practically screaming at her.
Alex was not as well developed as Jazz. The reader gets the sense that he is intelligent and sexy and protective, but we don't really get more than just what is on the surface. More background or little stories about his past might have helped to reveal more about him. What I did get to know, I liked. It's just knowing more about him might have made me feel more connected to him and would have made his feelings toward Jazz feel all the more believable. One thing that really stood out for me was how he understood Jazz and let her be herself. The true testament - how he allowed himself to trust her. Kill Me Twice is good stuff and these are all minor complaints. It's a good book and I will be reading more from Ms. St. Claire.

Kill Me Twice is the first of a series of books called "Bullet Catchers." The members of the "Bullet Catchers" are highly specializd bodyguards who work for a female ex-CIA agent. I enjoyed this first book in the series. The plot was rather complicated, which kept me from completely guessing the outcome. The book kept me interested, and I look forward to reading the rest of the series.
Jasmine Adams has been asked to travel to her twin's home and pretend to be her for several days. Jasmine's twin, Jessica, is a news anchor who tells Jasmine she has to go away for a few days to work on an important story. When Jasmine arrives, Jessica is nowhere to be found. Instead, Jasmine finds Alex Romero, a bodyguard who has been hired by Jessica's network to protect her. Jessica has received several letters that indicate she has a stalker. Alex has done his homework on Jessica, and immediately realizes that Jasmine is not she. He is immediately uncomfortable over the disappearance of Jessica and believes she is in danger. Jasmine is at first convinced that Jessica is just off working on her story, but she is soon also convinced that something is not right. Alex and Jasmine work together to try to find out where Jessica is and who is intent on harming her. Alex and Jasmine are attracked to one another from the beginning and begin a relationship which is soon more than physical. Alex is ferociously male and sees himself as the protector of those he cares about. Jasmine is very headstrong and determined to take care of herself. As these two strong personalities try to discover the mystery behind Jessica's disappearance, they must also decide if they have been wrong about the type of person they belong with.

There were two things I took away from this:
1) I want to learn Spanish
2) My teacher should be a sexy Latin man
When Alejandro "Alex" Romero is given an assignment to protect news anchorwoman Jessica Adams from her stalker, he's not too thrilled considering he's highly specialized to be more than just a bodyguard. What he didn't expect was that woman he was assigned to turned out to be her twin sister, Jazz Adams.
PI Jasmine "Jazz" Adams came to Miami with the sole purpose of being her sister while she's away doing an investigative story. When Jessica fails to contact her, Jazz becomes more suspicious and anxious to find her sister. Only she has to convince her hired bodyguard that her sister may indeed be in danger.
As they work their way through all TV network connections to find out what Jessica was up to, the steamy attraction builds between Alex and Jazz. There's quite a twist in the plot that kept me guessing and they are surprising ones. When you thought you figured something out, it throws you for a loop and you end up back to square one to try and figure out what's going on.
The book also introduces other Bullet Catchers, Dan and Max, whose books I want to get to soon. Though Lucy Sharpe intrigued me the most with her past!
Great read and great start to the series.

Worst most annoying heroine ever!!!!! Plot holes everywhere with a band-aid patch at the end to cover them up but I still read the whole thing because I wanted to know just how many bad guys there really was.
Jazz just about ruined this book for me. First she is unconcerned her sister is missing then when she decides she is in trouble does her darnedest to thwart the efforts of the one guy who is trying to help her. Apparently because she wants to be independent. Um hello a specially trained professional is trying to protect you (which is his job and he's getting paid to do it) and trying to help find your sister you might not want to keep doing stupid crap that could get you, your sister, and him killed you idiot! If i had been Alex I might have shot Jazz myself just to save on aggravation and make my job so so much easier. I literally yelled at my book "you idiot". Can't say I've ever done that before.
All that being said I will read the next one to see if Roxanne St. Claire can write better female characters that I don't want to strangle and/or slap silly.

I read Ms. St.Claire's 'Guardian Angelinos' books and enjoyed them. Several people suggested trying her 'Bullet Catchers' series. I picked up this first book of the series and read it in two days! I couldn't put it down. I really liked Alex and Jazz together. Alex Romero is a very alpha Cuban-American male with a protective streak a mile wide. (Good trait for a bodyguard.) Jazz Adams is a risk taker but turns out to be very strong and courageous. Alex falls in love with her at the same time he wants to strangle her for not listening and staying where she is told to stay! Jazz wants to find her sister, who is in danger, her way. She thinks she doesn't want or need Alex in her life but fate has other ideas. They manage to work things out and save the day but not without a lot of arguing and 'distraction'. The sexual chemistry is off the charts between these two who find they really are well-suited. I loved the book and will definitely continue this series. Highly recommended!

No spoilers.
I truly fell into this book from page one, and enjoyed the ride to the last page. By this I mean that there were no discernable 'yawns' for me as I never got bored reading it. There were no editable distractions either, which for me, was a nice plus. There were also enough twists and false leads to keep me quessing, and I never once found myself thinking about the way the book was written, or how believable or otherwise the plot or characters were.
In short, I loved it.
What I didn't like? Nothing, there was nothing of this book that I didn't enjoy.
The best bit about this book? It left a smile on my face.

There were also enough twists and false leads to keep me quessing, and I never once found myself thinking about the way the book was written, or how believable or otherwise the plot or characters were.
In short, I loved it.
What I didn't like? Nothing, there was nothing of this book that I didn't enjoy.
The best bit about this book? It left a smile on my face.

A plot twist right at the end redeemed the book somewhat, but I still felt the plot line was a tired one. The writing was a little overly dramatic, as well, and there were two or three big information dumps including two "bad-guy soliloquies" that were unfortunate. Lastly, I didn't like Lucy, who seems likely to be a major player in future books. I really don't want to read about another "cool, crisp, put-together, in control" female lead who resembles a cold fish. I'll have to see if she gets her own story, or if she simply remains Bullet Catchers' top-dog...or top-b*tch, as it were.

Oh Amazingly good. Took me a bit to really get into it but i've been reading a different style of book before this and this is the first in the series so you have to figure out what's going on first. Lots of plot twists and action. I didn't figure out who the real bad guy was til the end. Good read!

The first book in the Bullet Catcher series by Roxanne St. Claire. Alex Romero is a member of the Bullet Catchers, a group of elite bodyguards. This was a one-day read for me, could not put it down. I loved the banter and chemistry between the hero and heroine, and I honestly wasn't sure who the real bad guy was until the very end. Solid read, Roxanne St. Claire knows how to write romantic suspense just how I like it :).
