DNF at 40 %. * 1 star. Review posted August 1, 2013
I'm not keen on requesting ARCs when I don't know the author. My bad! Since I signed up to GR I have read my fair share of great and not so great BDSM books. Hence, I know what I like, however, Claimed is so not my cup of tea. It's among the worst BDSM books I've ever read.
I can and have overlooked the very first sentence of Claimed:
"Master Dmitri doesn't expect sex." Cora grunted.
As far as I can remember pigs are grunting. Is she a woman and human being or a pig? First sentence, first eye roll moment--not a good omen. When I was 6 % done I've had a slight headache and when I called it quits at 40 % I was ready to swallow a couple of painkillers.
I cannot for the life of me understand why the incredibly shy Presley, who is sexually absolutely inexperienced, would feel the urge to visit the BDSM dungeon Club Sin. Let's face it, Presley can't even say the word "sex" WITHOUT BLUSHING. And what's up with her exaggerated breathing. All. The. Time?

She followed the line of his brow along the masculine contours of his face. While his eyebrow arch looked simple enough, it portrayed a statement of curiosity, and he was beautiful. "You know, being tied up, dominated…and um… other stuff."
As he slid his finger over her warm cheek, her pupils dilated. Heat sped through his veins like liquid fire at the sheer purity of her features. Blood rushed to his c@ck so fast that it hardened to steel.
Uh-huh. Beautiful. Not.
Presley is half-naked, covered with a paper blanket, legs spread wide, with her feet in stirrups and then the first thing that comes out of Dr. Schmidt's mouth is:
"I can see why Dmitri rushed to get your tests done", (…) "You're very cute."
I don't care if she is the Pope or just Dmitri's friend but what she did was wrong and totally inappropriate. She is a physician for Pete's sake! Geez...
I didn't like the writing and couldn't connect with the MCs either. In fact, I have zero tolerance for cheesy writing. Also, the story is littered with the endearment doll (20 Kindle pages) which irritated me to no end. Right from the start it's all about doll here and doll there even though they don't know each other at all. The sex is poorly written and not erotic at all. The plot, the writing and the characters are beyond silly, and the cheese factor 10 made my head and teeth hurt. No more please.

This book was spectacular! Wow. I'm always a bit nervous reading BDSM books as I've come to find more often than not that the physicality of the scenes and the huge focus on dungeons/Doms/subs far outweighs the gift of a good storyline. It's often porn at its best. This book did NOT fit that bill. Was it off the hook hot? Oh yeah! Did we have our fair share of dungeon scenes? Of Doms/subs? Yes and yes, but this book was so much more!
Everyone- I'd like to introduce you to Master Dmitri-
Master Dmitri is a Casino CEO by day and the elite Club Sin owner by night. When one of his club subs asks if her friend can sign on as a sub, he's happy to meet her....feel her out. Little did he know the physical response he'd have to this sweet innocent, obviously inexperienced woman that walks through his door.
Meet my Presley-
Presley has no idea what she was thinking coming to this mansion. She's intrigued by the D/s dynamics and the erotic BDSM novels she reads really get her hot but this man standing before her makes her want to do anything just to please him. He's captivated her too.
Dmitri offers to be the one Master to train Presley. She's to come to the dungeon every weekend and he will show her the side of her personality, the side that aches to submit, that she's hidden from the world. He just doesn't bank on the immediate bond they have within a scene. Her only focus is him and pleasing him and that makes him VERY happy. He's just not entirely prepared for his immediate desire to carry her upstairs into his mansion to his private quarters. He's NEVER done that with a club sub. But something is different with her. He's yet to be able to mix his public corporate life with his private dominant side. To find a woman he can be on equal grounds outside the bedroom but be his sub within the bedroom is just too much to ask....isn't it?
I am just very sad I can't include the oodles of great quotes found inside this book since its an arc. Their story was so much deeper than BDSM. The evolution of their relationship and the D/s bond that Dmitri and Presley form is palpable. I would weigh this book equal parts erotic/BDSM with contemporary romance.
We are also set up to experience more books within Club Sin. I cannot wait to read the story of Master Aiden (Cora) and Master Kyler. This is a great read I enjoyed thoroughly.

2,5-3 Such a Pity Stars
I just lost the review I spent more than 20 minutes writing and since I'm too bored to re-write a quick run down...
0-40% of the book...
This was the good part. The book had much potential, the main couple seemed likable, the story as interesting as an erotic romance gets, the secondary characters intriguing and the first Dom/sub scene was pretty hot. All was well in Joanna-land.
40-75% of the book...
The book took a huge dive there. The heroine proved to be a spineless idiot who did everything she was told, I honestly think if someone had told her to jump from a cliff she would have, no questions asked. This is a huge pet-peeve of mine. I like my heroines stubborn and strong minded. I don't care for pushovers.
The hero although he had said that he didn't want a submissive who wouldn't talk back and obey him like a good dog, seemed to do nothing to let her have an opinion and many things he did annoyed me to no end...
The unacceptable thing Presley did? She left his house in the middle of the night without waking him to tell him. And I know it sounds kind of bad but he never asked her if she wanted to sleep with him. They had a scene AT THE CLUB, she fell asleep during aftercare and he was presumptuous enough to think he had the right to move her to his PERSONAL bedroom without asking her. And what does our lovely pushover do when he confronts her? She apologises.
Really? She is a sub just entering the lifestyle and still in training but she isn't allowed questions? WTH?
Ah... Now you remember that you're only training her. Because if he wasn't just training her, if he was something more, of course he would want the girl to be strong and brave for him, not for herself. Why would a Dom who is supposed to be helping a woman he cared about to be strong for herself when it was so much better if she were strong to make HIM happy? I have two words for you. FUCK YOU!
I could go search for a lot of instances I wanted to kill them both but you get the drift...
75-100% of the book...
Here things got better. Dmitri realised Presley had a problem confronting anyone no matter what she felt and helped her get over it. The scene and the end result were satisfying enough on that front.
The one thing the book had going for it from start to finish were the sex scenes. They were pretty hot if I do say so myself. So... An average rating seems good enough for this book, generous even at some points. And this wasn't exactly as quick as I planned.:P

Part of him wanted her to be brave for him, not to prove to herself that she could do it, to be a different woman, stronger and not shy. He wanted her to act because of her submission to him, though the other part of him knew asking that of her wasn’t his right. He was only training her.
Ah... Now you remember that you're only training her. This was an enjoyable story that I found gave a beginner perspective into the BDSM lifestyle. It is a perfect story for someone who is curious and unsure about BDSM, as the author has a great way of defining the roles of the Dom and Sub in a very simple way. I did like how Stacey Kennedy made a point of stating in a letter at the beginning of the book, that in no way does this portray "real life" BDSM and that it is strictly from her own imagination. I think that often times us as readers think that the BDSM lifestyle we read about, is the way that it really is. In saying that, I found this story to be on the lighter side of the lifestyle and a great book for someone who doesn't care for the darker stories that are out there.
We are introduced to Presley Flynn, who has just left her boyfriend after he cheated on her. She is feeling quite bad about herself, and wants to change her "angel ways" and become someone like the adventureous women in her BDSM books that she reads. It turns out her roomate is into the lifestyle and is a regular at a place named; Club Sin. Cora jumps on the chance to introduce Presley to the exciting lifestyle she leads and enjoys.
There are five Masters at Club Sin, which includes the owner, Dmitri Pratt. When he first lays eyes on Presley he immediately feels a powerful attraction and an urge to protect her. He decides then and there that he will be the one to introduce her to what being a submissive is all about. Dmitri becomes aware of the fact that Presley is a natural, and once they begin, there will be no looking back.
I loved these two together. It was also refreshing to see them grow as individual people as the story goes on. At the beginning, each of them have their own hang ups; but they learn from one another and they proceed to do something about it. I loved watching them become stronger individually, as well as when they are together.
The sex in this story is hot, and done not too graphically..There are BDSM scenes, like bondage,spanking,and whipping; but it is written in a way that does not make a person uncomfortable at all. This looks to be the start of a wonderful series, and I think it will get better and better as each book comes out.
"Claimed" is scheduled to be released at the beginning of August. I recommend it to anyone who is curious about the BDSM lifestyle; but has been a little hesitant about checking it out. This is honestly a great introduction into the scene, and it is done in a tasteful and simple way. I look forward to what Stacey Kennedy will write in the future. She is an author who I feel will just get better and better with the more stories she writes.

Finding herself aroused while reading erotic book that dip into the world of BDSM she receives an invite to Club Sin, an exclusive club for Dominants and Submissives. Dmitri Pratt opened up the secret Club Sin in the basement of his mansion. It's his way to balance his need to be a dominant and be a collected Casino CEO. But his life is about to change when he meets Presley to see if she would make a new addition as a member of his club. And although she had zero experience her natural instincts were to please and submit.
I LOVED this book! Not only did the theme completely appeal to me as a reader who has a slight fascination with the world of BDSM and that enjoys a great romance story. This hit it all - and hit it out of the damn park! It was not overly raunchy and really painted the whole lifestyle in a very compassionate light. Her job was to please him and his job was to care for her. I loved every second of this story - the club scenes were erotic and not overdone. It was almost a sweet version of a bondage love story. You instantly love every character in this (well not Steven of course), but every single one of the characters gives you something that you take away with you. The sex scenes were well written and hot - they seemed so simply written; it flowed beautifully. Nothing seemed forced with this story - everything had it's place and it worked perfectly.
This book left me with a desire for a little of this..
And good lord that bathroom scene...
I was thoroughly impressed by Stacey Kennedy. This was my first read from her and I look forward to the Club Sin story continuing, whether it be more of Dmitri and Presley or focusing on the other Masters of the club. After this book I know that this series is going to make my favorite series list - no doubt about it.

Presley came to Las Vegas following her then boyfriend, Steven. Now after breaking up with the cheating son of a bitch she decides it's time for a change. When her roommate tells her about Club Sin, an exclusive BDSM club, she knows she needs to stop hiding from her true fantasies, and going to the club is the perfect way to do that.
Dmitri, owner of Club Sin, has been living his life only for work and not taking time for himself. Then Cora, one of the club's submissive's, asks him to let her roommate train at the club and it changes everything. From the first second he lays his eyes on Presley he wants her with a deep, burning, passion. He knows there is no way he will let another Master train her, so he takes on her training.
Dmitri and Presley's chemistry was off the charts scorching and I was loving the scenes they did together. I wanted a little less of the dungeon time, though, and more of a relationship between them. Their relationship felt underdeveloped and I just couldn't sense a connection. They had a lot of sexual chemistry sparking between them but that was it.
There were some things that I didn't understand why they were in the book. Big example: Her ex-boyfriend being constantly mentioned. Steven was brought up a lot but to no result until the very end. The relationship and the Steven situation seemed to end rather suddenly and I actually had to go double check to see if their story would continue in the next book - which it doesn't.
Overall, it was a hot and sexy book that is worth the read. It lacks in romance but the steamy scenes can make up for that if you like light romances. There are a lot of secondary characters mentioned and I am excited to move onto their books to see what happens with them.
Presley came to Las Vegas following her then boyfriend, Steven. Now after breaking up with the cheating son of a bitch she decides it's time for a change. When her roommate tells her about Club Sin, an exclusive BDSM club, she knows she needs to stop hiding from her true fantasies, and going to the club is the perfect way to do that.
Dmitri, owner of Club Sin, has been living his life only for work and not taking time for himself. Then Cora, one of the club's submissive's, asks him to let her roommate train at the club and it changes everything. From the first second he lays his eyes on Presley he wants her with a deep, burning, passion. He knows there is no way he will let another Master train her, so he takes on her training.
Dmitri and Presley's chemistry was off the charts scorching and I was loving the scenes they did together. I wanted a little less of the dungeon time, though, and more of a relationship between them. Their relationship felt underdeveloped and I just couldn't sense a connection. They had a lot of sexual chemistry sparking between them but that was it.

There were some things that I didn't understand why they were in the book. Big example: Her ex-boyfriend being constantly mentioned. Steven was brought up a lot but to no result until the very end. WONDERFUL! This is a fantastic book.
Claimed is a BDSM love story with realistic psychological input, written in the third person. This is exactly how I see the lifestyle IMHO. (Yes they fall in love really fast, yes she gets into the scene fast too, including exhibition sex, etc, - but hey - it's a story so we let these little improbable things slide).
There is a plot but this book is FULL of pantie melting sex. Wow. This is EXACTLY what I love to read and write myself. I haven't gotten this worked up while reading for awhile. Talk about hot!
What is it about? A young submissive woman with an almost pathological need to please. A Dom who takes care of everyone - but doesn't take enough care of himself.
There is none of those stupid misunderstandings that sometimes happen in these sort of books where the hero and heroine run away from each other rather than communicate as actual adults would.
This is a perfect love story. I honestly can't recommend it enough.

Rating: 2.5* but I'm feeling generous and rounding it up
I’ll start with saying that when something annoys me in a book, I can’t stop myself from seeing all the crap that drives me nuts! That means that if I love a book, it could have grammatical and editorial mistakes and I wouldn’t see them… But if a book has that one thing that kicks me out of a story, it usually doesn’t end well.
In this book, it all started with the name. What is it with authors and pickingstupid unappealing names for characters? Seriously, can someone explain it to me? It’s like they think of the weirdest, most stupid name they could come up with, and then use it! It’s not even the 1st time it has happened in the last months! I wouldn’t be this fucking annoyed if it were the 1st time. Ms. Kennedy went on and named the poor spineless girl(I’ll get to it in after this rant) Presley and every fucking time I read that name I read Parsley! Do you know how fun it is to think of seasoning plants when reading sex scenes? Let me tell you: NOT AT ALL!
Furthermore, she made her female character a Mary Sue and her male character an assuming asshole. Parsley, I men Presley, does whatever the guy tells her, whatever anyone tells her. I mean, she frigging apologized for freaking out and leaving his bed and his house after waking up disoriented after a scene. He didn’t ask her if she wanted to spend the night, he just deposited her in his bed and then went to sleep. Entangled with her. Any normal woman would panic when not remembering how she go there and then leave. That’s what she did. It would have been ok if he asked her WHY she left or anything about it, but the asshole goes to her place of work with his boxers in a bunch and (kind of) has a fit there and tells her to apologize. The f-idiot does it! I’m stopping now, otherwise I’ll continue for a few other hundred paragraphs about this issue…

The things that made me finish the book and give the 2nd one a chance were the secondary characters(his friend Mary and I’d love a novella or something with the dude’s last serious sub, her relationship sounded fascinating) and the sex scenes. Ms Kennedy writes amazing sex. She can really pull you into the scene there and you (mostly) forget about the stupid name(or try very hard, at least until the hero calles her by name) and the very enormous character flaws.

This was a really fun light BDSM read. Presley (I like this name:D) she just broke up with her boyfriend who broke her heart. Her best friend Cora lives the lifestyle and had invited Presley to check it out. Cora is such a cute overprotective best friend, I liked her. Presley is a little unsure if this is for her but she wants more in her relationships than what she has got in the past. So she decides to go for it. Presley is invited to meet with Club Sin's owner Dmitri, and boy does she like what she feels and senses from this man, pure control and sexiness and a little of something else. Let me tell you he is really hot handsome, and caring, and in charge. Their scenes were all sizzling scorching hotness! I liked how their relationship evolves into more than just master and submissive.
The story is pretty predictable but was still interesting how it played out. One thing that drove me a little crazy was the build up to the final scene" that" I felt should have happened a lot sooner. After all it is Club Sin. Overall an enjoyable read.

3.5 BDSM Stars
Claimed is a great book for beginners in regard towards BDSM books. The book was written in 2013 and it was very much relevant during that time period.
I’m not sure why I pulled this one out. I guess I was just thinking of all of the BDSM books I use to read and well, I felt like reading something mild, slightly steamy and just something I didn’t have to think too much on.
I think this is my first Stacey Kennedy book and I was really happy with it. I had low expectations because it’s an old BDSM book, but it had everything a BDSM book would have.
You have the overbearing DOM, but he’s nice and plays nice and gets the girl off. You have the naïve and very innocent Heroine that doesn’t know anything about that lifestyle. Sure it got a bit repetitive at times and there was a lot of descriptive and inner monologue I kind of skimmed through, but it was a sweet and easy read.
The key word is EASY. I like easy books when I’m in the mood for them.
I will continue with the series.

As readers we are able to watch as Presley accepts the submissive within herself and under the teaching of Dimitri, the most masterful of Dom's and Club Sins owner also finds love. The love story between these two is so sweet.The sex is incredibly HOT and I would rate it as a little lighter on the BDSM side with spanking scenes, and public nudity but no menage action.
The supporting characters are intriguing, and I'm really looking forward to the next two books in this series, which I'm sure will likely focus on Cora and Aiden, and also it will be fun to watch Kyler when he finds the right woman as well.

I had a difficult time connecting the characters at first. The first meeting that Dmitri and Presley had, at his mansion, left me wanting more maybe a different setting or a different encounter. I don't know but it did not grab me at first. However, I did find that connection as the two had numerous encounters throughout the story. Dmitri is a hardcore Dom was a soft spot for the his submissive Presley. Even though he is taking curious innocent Presley on a journey of discovery, Dmitri finds out his limits as well. I enjoyed reading how the D/s relationship grew for the two as well as their overall relationship of trust, caring, and desire.
Enjoyable read of two characters exploring their emotional needs that they normally avoid and the changes that Dmitri and Presley embrace. I found this book to be a light introduction into BDSM and figure that it fits with the story line, of lightly introducing Presley to the lifestyle of BDSM. I was rooting for the characters before the story ended. I wanted Presley to start embracing the changes her life was taking and become more empowered to experience all that Dmitri was introducing her to. I wanted Dmitri to let go of all of his hang ups and explore how good it could be with Presley.
And did I mention there were plenty of steam up the mirror, change your panties scenes. I look forward to reading more of Club Sin bring it on Aidan and Cora.

I'm very particular when it comes to erotic romances involving BDSM. There is one author against whom I measure all others who write about clubs and scenes, but the one thing I am most drawn to is the psychological aspect. Since becoming a fan of BDSM stories, I've found that I like characters who have trouble expressing themselves verbally, either out of embarrassment or just the lack of communication skills. I'm fascinated that people in general have no problem expressing the wish to "fuck", but when it comes to saying what they like or don't like, they clam up. With that said, after reading Claimed, I will be adding Stacey Kennedy to the very short list of authors whose portrayal of the lifestyle I love. And no, 50SoG is not one of them.
Presley Flynn (25) was a sweet character with the perfect balance of curiosity and trepidation. A sweet girl with a penchant for being a people-pleaser, she's hurt by the discovery that her fiance had cheated. Since the break-up, the ex-boyfriend starts sniffing around her when she tells him that she's moved on. Instead of being more assertive in getting rid of him, she comes across as a doormat. However, I didn't see her that way. Not everyone is wired to establish a very clear and forceful delivery of their wishes, and she just seems to prefer to keep the peace. That just adds to the aura of innocence about her. She's genteel to a fault, not uptight or virginal.
As a Dom, Dmitri Pratt (33) wasn't as enigmatic as say, Cherise Sinclair's Masters, but he was still a character to fall in love with. He may have been the president of a casino business, but he never flashed his wealth around, nor was he arrogant. What differentiates him from all other rich CEO heroes was that he was down to earth. Instead of a fancy restaurant for a first date, it was a sports bar with burgers and fries. It doesn't get better than that. Dmitri had a kind heart that extended beyond the usual obligations as a Dom. What I loved most about him was that he wasn't afraid to acknowledge his jumbled feelings (in his mind) after meeting Presley. He never tried to push her away or discourage her from accepting him as her Dom, but he didn't strong-arm her into it either. It was simple mutual attraction playing itself out over time and conversation. Which brings me to what I loved the most about this story: Communication. And I'm not talking about the usual "talk" during aftercare.
The evolution of their relationship happened more out of the club rather than in it. Since the club was only open on Fridays and Saturdays, they had to discover each other outside of play time. I enjoyed their phone conversations as they attempted to get to know one another through talking rather than just giving and receiving intimate pleasure. They made a perfect couple - Presley was guileless and Dmitri had been lonely long enough to recognize a good thing staring him in the face.
He couldn't remember a time he'd ever allowed into the dungeon a submissive who not only had no experience but couldn't even think of sex without turning crimson.
Another thing that drew me in was the fact that Presley never wavered from her no sex rule. While all the club scenes were incredibly hot, they never involved sex between the main characters. Presley's sexual exploration is the catalyst, but I didn't get the feeling it was the driving force. It was actually very refreshing. If you're itching for the hot sex between these two, you won't be happy to hear that there's only one scene, and when it happens, it's the culmination of everything that has gone on between them since the beginning. I thought that particular ending fit the characters perfectly.
The plot was crisp, clean, concise and not rushed at all. I thought the pacing was just right for both of them to discover what they really wanted. Presley had a believable character development under Dmitri's care which at one particular point was very predictable, but cleverly executed. That was just one of my favorite scenes. I love when characters have an epiphany during a scene, and they each had their own unique experience. I know I expelled the breath I was holding during each of those. The secondary characters didn't take up major parts of the story, but just the few glimpses made them interesting enough that I look forward to reading each of their stories as well. One Master down, four more to go ;)
This was a true kinky and therapeutic romance for both characters. I loved this author's gentler approach to BDSM romance, and I think it will appeal to those who are still a little squeamish or feel overwhelmed when there's too much sex in a book. I for one loved it and can't wait to continue on with this series.
Final rating: 4.5 rounded p to 5 and I consider this a Top Pick for 2013 because I could this book many times over and not get bored.

I really enjoyed this book. This BDSM story was a little on the lighter side than others I have read, and I have to say that I enjoyed it much more than the tortured hero/virginal heroine angle.
I love the names the author gave these characters. I loved Presley. It was different but not over the top, and Dmitri…mmmm, Dmitri. I’m already pre-programmed to like this name because of Dimitri from Vampire Academy. As soon as I see the name, my brain screams HOT! And the cover just confirms that. ;)
What I really enjoyed about the book was that Presley wasn’t ignorant to the world of BDSM. This was not something she was trying just to please her boyfriend or something she had no knowledge of prior to meeting Dmitri. She was interested, she did the research, and she chose the lifestyle.
Though it was a short book, I thought the pacing was nice and even.

OH MY!!! I LOVED THIS BOOK!!!!

I'm almost ashamed to admit I got this book a while back as an ARC, and never had made it around to it. Well, shame on me, because it was delicious.
I hadn't read an actual D/s book in, wow, I can't really even remember when. For some reason I think I was a little skeptic even to read this one for that reason. I'm not really sure why, but I should be spanked, pun intended. :D
Presley is trying to put her past behind her and maybe even discover something about herself. Cora, her bff has talked her into coming to club sin because she reads way too many erotic books and thinks it's a sign she might enjoy the lifestyle. So, when she finally gets brave enough she goes with Cora and has an interview with the owner of Club Sin. He is a Dom/Master there, and Presley never imagines he will be the one to train her. However, something in Presley makes Dimitri decide to take her on, and it was hot hot hot.
I really love Dimitri. MY GOD. Even though he was demanding he was also so patient with Presley, seeing that she was new to the lifestyle and on top of that so sweet. And I did mention delicious, right??? I loved Presley too. She had lost her confidence do to a bad ending to a long relationship. However, when she went for what she wanted she was as brave as she could be, and I loved when Dimitri started giving her confidence back. Not to mention how she was with Dimitri. SWOON!!!!

I'm almost ashamed to admit I got this book a while back as an ARC, and never had made it around to it. Well, shame on me, because it was delicious.
I hadn't read an actual D/s book in, wow, I can't really even remember when. For some reason I think I was a little skeptic even to read this one for that reason. I'm not really sure why, but I should be spanked, pun intended. :D
Presley is trying to put her past behind her and maybe even discover something about herself. Cora, her bff has talked her into coming to club sin because she reads way too many erotic books and thinks it's a sign she might enjoy the lifestyle. So, when she finally gets brave enough she goes with Cora and has an interview with the owner of Club Sin. He is a Dom/Master there, and Presley never imagines he will be the one to train her. However, something in Presley makes Dimitri decide to take her on, and it was hot hot hot.

I enjoy Stacey Kennedy's writing. She has the ability to convey a story that is sexy but has depth. Claimed was no different. The story is about a fairly virgin-esque heroine who is looking to awaken her kinky side after her breakup with her ex of eight years. Enter Master Dmitri who possesses all the Dom-ly characteristics that Presley is eager to experience. Dmitri is tall, dark, handsome, enigmatic and sexy. She is instantly drawn to him as he is to her. Presley makes him go against him standard operating procedure concerning submissives at Club Sin. She is his. And he spends most of the book showing her the pleasure and love she can feel under the hands of a skilled master.
Overall, I enjoyed Claimed. It was light, sexy, and sweet. Not overly heavy on the BDSM aspects but present enough in the story for those who enjoy them. My problem, and I use the word lightly, with the story was there just wasn't any drama. I know the Steven element was supposed to be there for that reason but it was diffused as quickly as it emerged and with little to no fanfare. I was hoping for a bit more drama on that score. But, one verbal threat by Dmitri and Steven faded to black. No muss. No fuss. The book would have definitely been a solid four star read if a bit more conflict was added there.
But, I did enjoy the story and look for what Kennedy has in store for the other Masters.
A note to readers: People who enjoy Cherise Sinclair's Shadowlands series would enjoy the Club Sin series. They have a similar feel to them.

Claimed is a BDSM novella, but it really felt more like a naughty romance. That's a good thing!
A lot of times BDSM comes with a calm coolness both in and out go the bedroom, but our Dom was more for play than he was an actual Dom. This is a blossoming romance between a Dom and his sub. Hot, but quite cute.
This will throw you off though... this is a BDSM book with almost no sex! They had sex once. They just played a lot. LOL. Once!!! That was slightly unexpected.

Although I've never experience BDSM and the author told this story from an imaginary idea I enjoyed the characters together. The dungeon scene was a great way to draw Presley into the experience and to make her feel comfortable. There were a few funny areas within the book and I thought the author did a fine job at writing it. I read a few BDSM books before more on a dark scene, however I thought the author story was well written and I would love to read more.

There are as many reasons to read as there are readers, or books. Sometimes you need to learn something, sometimes you want to be scared, there are occassions when it is all about the mystery and then there are the moments when all you want and need is a sweet love story. Today was one of those love story days for me and wasn’t I lucky that I decided to start – and finish – “Claimed” by Stacey Kennedy.
Because a sweet love story is exactly what we find on these pages. Yes, it is definitely an erotic story, and yes there is a strong BDSM theme to it, but neither the story nor the subject matter is shocking. In fact, I would call this BDSM light.
When we meet Presley Flynn she is a bundle of nerves about to meet Dmitri Pratt – on a side note, Pratt seems to be an unfortunate surname for this character since he is anything but incompetent and foolish. Aged 25, Presley has recently broken up with her one and only boyfriend of eight years after catching him cheating on her. When her friend and roommate, Cora, sees her devouring BDSM novels she decides to introduce Presley to the club she is a member of. While Presley knows that the stories excite her and is very curious about the life-style, she is very nervous about acting on her feelings and even more scared about coming across as not good enough.
Master Dmitri is fascinated by the young woman from the moment he first sets eyes on Presley. Especially since he can’t quite get a handle on the combination of lust, fear, insecurity and determination she exhibits.
“He couldn’t tell who she truly was; the innocent little darling scared out of her wits, or the brave woman not hiding from her sexual desires but fighting to express them.”
Dmitri doesn’t only decide to allow her into his club, he also fast-tracks her application process just so that he can start training her as soon as possible; before Presley has a chance to second guess her desires and let her fear keep her away. And so begins Presley’s slow but very intensive introduction into the pleasures of Domination and submission.
“That, Presley, is what makes you a submissive. You find peace and happiness when you relinquish control.”
As Presley spends more time with Dmitri she not only discovers the delights of BDSM and submitting to a man who seems to know exactly what she wants and needs, she also discovers sides to herself she never suspected were there.
“She had thought she’d come to Club Sin with something to prove to herself, to be a different woman, but tonight she felt as if she had become the woman she was meant to be – free and calm.”
But Presley isn’t the only one with issues to overcome and lessons to learn. As much as Dmitri teaches Presley that it is not only ok but also good to stand up for herself and stop always trying to please everybody around her, she teaches him that he doesn’t have to carry the weight of the world on his lone shoulders. It takes a few lessons, but Presley and Dmitri soon discover that:
“Together, we’re better, aren’t we?”
Like I said, this is a sweet and romantic, not to mention sexy, story. And if it is BDSM-light it is also sexy light. And I have to say I’m glad about that. In this story, with this innocent main character, anything else might have stretched my willingness to suspend disbelief a bit too far.
There is of course something cute about Presley in this book, coming to the realisation that the BDSM she has been reading about in her romance novels isn’t quite like the reality she’s encountering. I read that and couldn’t help thinking that there must be a lot of (mainly) women out there who have discovered the joys of reading this genre and now think they know exactly what BDSM is. Chances are that most, if not all of them – probably including myself – would be in for a rude awakening if confronted with the reality of the life-style.
This is a feel good book without protracted drama; a light and easy read and just what I needed today. I look forward to future Club Sin titles. There is always room for a good romance in my life.

I’ll admit, I really appreciated this note at the beginning of this story because it let me know that the author had something specific in mind for this series and while the Masters and submissives in this book enjoy various aspects of BDSM their play is what I consider BDSM light. That’s not to say this wasn’t a good book because it was, in fact I enjoyed it very much but if you are looking for hard core BDSM, this isn’t the story for you. However, if you can appreciate the imagination of this author to create a “different” kind of BDSM club, if you can enjoy interesting characters, and if you are looking for an entertaining story then you’ll really enjoy this book.
Presley Flynn is a young woman who believes there is something missing in her life. After a long term relationship hits the skids, her roommate, Cora, notices that she’s been reading a lot of BDSM stories and invites her to visit Club Sin with her. This is where I realized that Stacey Kennedy is a good author, Presley’s reaction; her nervousness, her fear, her excitement, and her questioning of everything drew me right into this story. While everyone thinks they know how they’ll respond when visiting a dungeon, until you’ve actually walked into one you really don’t understand everything that hits you all at once. Yes Presley is somewhat naive, and yes at times her inexperience and age make me crazy, but at the same time I found those qualities endearing as did Master Dmitri, the owner of Club Sin.
What can I say about Master Dmitri? First off, there’s no denying this man is large and in charge. However, I also admire the fact that he realizes how inexperienced Presley is and his patience and understanding make him even more attractive. I also love watching this very in control man, realize that Presley made him feel things he hadn’t felt in a long while and snapped his control.
As this is the first book in the series we are introduced to a lot of characters but it wasn’t overwhelming, they are there but for the most part they are in the background. That’s not to say they aren’t important because they are but they don’t overshadow Presley and Dmitri, they are there to help their story along and sometimes they do it with great style.
I love that Dmitri made sure Presley realized everything she was signing up for, that he insisted she take time to observe and understand but I also like that he expected her to keep an open mind. I love that he was able to read her so well, proving he’s a very accomplished Dom. The fact that over time Presley was able to get Dmitri to open up and share so much of himself was quite telling of the trust he felt with her.
This book moved at a rapid pace and I would have liked to see a little more time spent developing their relationship but other than that I can’t complain. These characters were quite captivating, the environment of Club Sin intriguing, and Claimed is an excellent start to the Club Sin series. I can’t wait to see what author Stacey Kennedy has in store for us next!

I love erotic reads. I love the sexiness, the lusty goodness and the hot alpha males that dominate. But one of the troubles with a steamy read is sometimes they are more about the spice than the actual story, which isn’t a bad thing, but sometimes a girl just wants both well told, layered story and spice. I got all of that with this one book!
Story/Characters...
Presley Flynn is surviving the aftereffects of an eight year wasted relationship and like most of us who are trying to escape reality, she has her nose crammed into a book. She loves BDSM stories with dominant men and gobbles every one she can get her hands on, leaving her with one huge erotic collection. But actually going to clubs and living out the fascinating lifestyle like the characters she reads about within those pages isn’t her reality... until her roommate and best friend offers her the deal of a lifetime, to actually go to one of these clubs, meet a Dom and be trained as a sub, allowing her to explore her darker side and experience the things she’s only read about.
I like how this story is realistic. When she meets her Dom, Dmitri, she’s nervous, a bit scattered and in awe. And when she finally enters inside the dungeon walls of Club Sin, she’s scared, intimidated but brave. Her courage and willingness to learn and experience is what draws you to her. Add on top of that, the innocence and caring nature of her character, and you can’t help but like her.
The writing is so well done, the reader gets to live out all these new wonderful experiences right along Presley as she explores this new lifestyle, the rules, the demands and the pleasures.
Then there’s the dominant, delectable Master Dmitri whose commanding presence will capture you and hold you tight while his seduction rolls in waves off the pages! He is bossy and titillating all in one and I couldn’t get enough of him. He’s had serious loss in his past and he has a controlling nature that had gotten him in trouble on more than one occasion in his younger years. Finding an outlet was paramount in his survival and through this lifestyle, he’s done that. He takes his teachings and teaches them to others in his club, Club Sin. When Presley walks in, sparks fly and her willingness to please, has him captivated.
I loved watching these two mains come together and explore their passions. And the best part? This read had layers, the characters has substance and I was completely pulled into the light and easy drama as Presley and Dmitri’s back stories were interesting yet not at all dark and tortuous. And the sub-characters were refreshing and distinct making this read a well rounded tale.
The Wrap Up:
I loved this read. The scenes were steamy, the story was well done and the conflict was real yet fun. Claimed (Club Sin #1) held all the qualities of a great story and had me reading through the night. I’ll definitely be keeping a lookout for book two, Bared (Club Sin #2), when it nears its release date in January 2014!

Okay. Wow. Seriously! This book was smoking hot with an awesome story and I loved every single second of it! By 10% I was hooked!
I really enjoyed the first meeting between the two main characters Presley and Dmitri, I think I was smiling the entire time enjoying their conversation. It was very telling about Presley but I couldn’t wait to learn more about Dmitri, he’s so intriguing.
During the course of the story, Presley is trying to break herself out of her shell by doing things she secretly desires and Dmitri wants to help her. Their chemistry is fantastic and I really liked the pull they have to one another. Dmitri seems to be so in tuned with her both emotionally and sexually.
This story shares both points of view but I was more drawn to Dmitri's. He just seems to be so kind and caring. Presley is insecure in the beginning but grows throughout the book and it’s nice to see her become more confident. I felt this book was really intense but it also had some really endearing scenes. I enjoyed watching the two of them grow and come together, it was nice to see their relationship evolving just like anyone's.
There are some seriously HOT sex scenes in this book. From the synopsis I deduced there would be but the author has a definite way with words and creates some really great imagery. It’s one thing to read a really great sex scene but it’s a whole other thing to be able to visualize all the details. I think that this book contains one of the hottest scenes I have read to date.
Beyond the sex, there is a solid story. A love story all be it far from a typical one but it worked for them. This book was an eye opener and I got slightly educated. I accepted the content for what it was, read, and was totally engrossed, hooked, and in love with Dmitri.
By the end, Presley is strong and knows what she wants and Dmitri has come to know he's met his match. There was a bit of a tense moment at the end where I wanted her to come to her conclusion quicker but once she did I was thrilled. I loved now she could calm Dmitri and that he let her. It showed he was truly letting her in.
It would have been nice to have even more details about the main characters backgrounds and even some of the sub characters. I thought Dmitri was covered pretty well but not Presley’s. I really liked the other characters as well and am curious about them. I can’t wait to find out more about Cora and Aiden story. I know there will be a book 2 and I will definitely get it.
The only reason I’m taking away half a star is because I wish it would have been a bit longer and given more character background information. Otherwise I thought it was perfect. The author Stacey Kennedy has a new fan in me for sure.

This story shares both points of view but I was more drawn to Dmitri's. He just seems to be so kind and caring. Presley is insecure in the beginning but grows throughout the book and it’s nice to see her become more confident. I felt this book was really intense but it also had some really endearing scenes. I enjoyed watching the two of them grow and come together, it was nice to see their relationship evolving just like anyone's.
There are some seriously HOT sex scenes in this book. From the synopsis I deduced there would be but the author has a definite way with words and creates some really great imagery. It’s one thing to read a really great sex scene but it’s a whole other thing to be able to visualize all the details. I think that this book contains one of the hottest scenes I have read to date.
Beyond the sex, there is a solid story. A love story all be it far from a typical one but it worked for them. This book was an eye opener and I got slightly educated. I accepted the content for what it was, read, and was totally engrossed, hooked, and in love with Dmitri.
By the end, Presley is strong and knows what she wants and Dmitri has come to know he's met his match. There was a bit of a tense moment at the end where I wanted her to come to her conclusion quicker but once she did I was thrilled. I loved now she could calm Dmitri and that he let her. It showed he was truly letting her in.
It would have been nice to have even more details about the main characters backgrounds and even some of the sub characters. I thought Dmitri was covered pretty well but not Presley’s. I really liked the other characters as well and am curious about them. I can’t wait to find out more about Cora and Aiden story. I know there will be a book 2 and I will definitely get it.
The only reason I’m taking away half a star is because I wish it would have been a bit longer and given more character background information. Otherwise I thought it was perfect. The author Stacey Kennedy has a new fan in me for sure.

As I read this book, I kept thinking of my friends *cough* cobloggers *cough* who are avid readers of BDSM and Erotic romance novels and I can’t help but wonder if any of them are closet subs or dom. Presley, the heroine of this book differs from them by a whole lot of balls. Presley is also an avid reader of BDSM and erotic novels. After finding out that her roomie is a sub and active member of Club Sin aka BDSM dungeon; well, she builds the courage and give it a go. Major balls she has, right? Things definitely happen for a reason because that’s where she meets the owner of Club Sin. Dimitri is not only the owner but also the Master of the Dungeon. He has been without a permanent Sub for years and wouldn’t you know it, after meeting Presley..... that status won’t last very long.
BDSM can be tricky for certain readers like myself. I have hard limits when it comes to the books I read that may be soft for others. Claimed has the right amount of sexy, pushed me to my soft limits without getting close to my hard limits if that makes sense. I thought this book was realistic in terms reactions from someone just starting to dab into this world. Presley’s response to her first exposure to “the dungeon”, her first time as a sub and her reactions to her hard limits were all very believable. I really like her. As I said, it takes humongous balls for anyone who is willing to come out of her shell and I applaud her for doing just that. Dimitri did a good job as a Dom as well. He knew Presley’s hard limits and honestly, as soon as he fell for her, they became his hard limits too. As a couple, Dimitri and Presley were plenty hot, enough romantic making their story a great read. Ms. Kennedy made a fan out of me, no doubt about that.

I enjoyed this story of discovery about "miss goody two shoes" Presley, and the "oh so thank you sir" Dimitri.
Presley had recently moved to Las Vegas following her longterm boyfriend, Stephen, only to discover his infidelity with a co-worker, which caused her to end the relationship. She was an avid erotic romance reader, and had been having fantasies about exploring the world of BDSM. As fate would have it, her flat mate, Cora, was already a member at a fairly recent club, and encouraged her to attend.
Dimitri was the aloof, gorgeous, controlled Master of the dungeon, who also owned the infamous club, Club Sin. He was stunned by Presley on arrival in his office, not only by her obvious beauty, but her screaming innocence. They agree that he will become her Dom, and tutor her until she is happy to move on. Dimitri has not had a designated Sub for a number of years, but feels there may be something more with Presley.
I enjoyed watching Dimitri uncoil and begin to break his own rules, whilst Presley exchanged her nervousness for insurmountable pleasure. The club scenes were well crafted, and we gained a good understanding of the primary characters, as well as some secondary, who I have no doubt will feature in the future books in the series. Presley also travelled a path of enlightenment in relation to her own behaviour, which was great to watch as she unpeeled.
The only negative I have is that it felt fairly short and I therefore felt the HFN was a little rushed. This opinion could change, however, with the next installment...

I know that books about BDSM is the latest trend and I couldn’t help myself! I had to request this book and review it! And I knew that my instinct would be correct! This is a very nice read. I would prefer it to be a little bigger but I enjoyed it nevertheless!
Presley came to Las Vegas to be with her fiancé. After a month he told her that he cheated on her and she went to live with a new friends of her. To forget her drama, she was reading erotic books full of BDSM until her friend told her that she’s living in this lifestyle and introduced her to the handsome Dmitri, owner of the Club Sin, one of the BDSM clubs in the area. And when she met him she found what she was looking for but was afraid to admit.
I liked Presley because she had courage. Yes, she was afraid at the beginning but when she gave herself a chance she did it with her heart. She’s the typical nice and cute young woman who can’t see her true value. She’s innocent in a good way and that makes the men want her.
Dmitri is amazing! To be honest, he isn’t like other Masters in other series about BDSM. He’s more easy-going and I believe that it has to do with his age. Of course, he’s an alpha male and protective but he doesn’t have a dangerous vibe all the time. He was very lonely until he met Presley. It was nice to see him trying to convince himself and his friends that he didn’t want a submissive. He was hers since minute one!
I liked the plot a lot and my only complaint is that it should be longer because at the end everything happened quickly and it ended before I realize what was going on!
