This work is a Deathwatch adventure in three parts. Each takes place on the same space hulk, the Mortis Thule. It is valuable for any GM who wants to play aboard the iconic space hulk setting, or even as an adventure with different challenges than more standard missions.

It is not without its mistakes and issues. First, while any space hulk is constantly changing in its layout, the published adventure could have been improved with several maps. Maps both laying out the sites of major conflicts, as well as a cursory map of the hulk that might give a basic idea to players as to the scope and confusion of navigating a space hulk. Furthermore, the background information has a number of inconsistencies between it and other published texts. For example, there is reference to the representatives of the Lathes and Lords Dragon investigating the Mortis Thule in M33, while the Lathes were not founded until the Angevin crusade millennia later. Finally, Mortis Thule is in italics, yet only part of the word is so emphasized. In rare cases, the italics are applied to the entire name.

I am glad to have it in my library; however, I am also glad to have acquired it in FFG's yearly sale.

This book was a mixed bag of useful encounters, adversaries, and elements that could be inserted into a Dark Heresy, Deathwatch or Rogue Trader adventure, but it was also partly a pre-made Deathwatch mission, which had some potential but was not over amazing. I think that a GM's bets bet would be to use the information contained in this tome to develop his own mission, taking those encounters and elements that best suits them. I used some of these myself to create a mission for my long-running Dark Heresy/Deathwatch campaign.
