Chris Coad Taylor’s passion is writing suspense mysteries, romantic suspense, and psychological thrillers with romantic elements. She currently has two series available: The Amber series and the Havenridge Mystery series. All series novels can be read as stand-alone stories, meaning you can read one book or all in any order. She has published two non-fiction books, contributed to two anthologies, and has published several short stories.
NOVELS The Amber Series: Book 1, “The Rainbow Murders,” is a romantic/psychological thriller set in the exotic locale of Ybor City, Florida. Book two, “Danger Among Us,” is a crime/mystery with new characters added. Book 3, “The Pied Piper/ Evil Returns,” has some of your favorite characters from books one and two in a new story that has twists, turns, and an ending full of surprises.
Taylor’s debut novel, “Secrets of Havenridge,” was re-released as a second edition in the fall of 2017. It is the beginning of the Havenridge Mystery series. The new edition was reshaped and rewritten, packed with additional mystery elements and tension, but with the same lovable characters you fell in love with from the original book.
The sequel in the Havenridge Mystery series is “Finding Jacob.” It answers the mystery of the Lovers at Blue Lake and discloses why Jacob never returned to Havenridge. There are plans to merge this epic novel into a trilogy series.
Chris follows the belief of the late film director Alfred Hitchcock with her novel writing, which is that suspense builds better in the minds of your audience/readers. Therefore, she never needs to add any bloody or gory details. Taylor gives only enough detail to the crimes in her novels that is necessary. She plants clues and paints romantic scenes with enough spice.
In addition to her writing, Chris Coad Taylor is an award-winning photographer and a lifelong artist. She lives in Florida with her husband.
A serial killer of homosexuals is running rampant in the area of Tampa, Florida called Ybor City; therefore the title The Rainbow Murders. The Bible thumping madman claims he's doing God's work, to rid the city of sinners. Soul Followers, aka Guardian Angels, observe their charges from the background, forbidden to interfere. As the search goes on to find the perpetrator called The Preacher, Soul Followers nudge at times to help, and one actually saves a life. Fast paced, fun to read, and there is an unexpected ending.
The Rainbow Murders is an absolutely gripping read! The cover itself drew me in with its striking design, perfectly setting the tone for the mystery within.
