Book 3 in Drea Stein's Queensbay Series

Phoebe Ryan is Hollywood royalty, the grand-daughter of the infamous screen siren Savannah Ryan. All of her life, Phoebe’s been a California golden girl. But when Savannah dies and leaves her penniless, Phoebe finds her life going down faster than a sinking ship. Before she knows it, she’s been dumped, fired and evicted. All of sudden the glamour of Hollywood is starting to wear a little thin.

So when Phoebe discovers Savannah has left her a run-down house on the New England coast, she eagerly hops on a plane.

Savannah had always told her that the Ivy House was magical, but the rundown cottage that faces her isn't what she expected. And neither is Chase Sanders, the one man whose past is linked inextricably to her own. Can a big town girl find love with a small town guy? Or is Chase only interested in her because of her famous last name? Phoebe knows that all that glitters isn't gold, but will Chase be able to convince her that his love for her is the real thing?

The Ivy House is the third book in the Queensbay Novel series. I read the first one yesterday and once I realized I already had this one I quickly started reading it. I know I skipped Rough Harbor, and while you do get to see the results of that book it is not necessary to read these books in order.

Even though the basic structure of the story is the same as Dinner for Two, the same basic plot points with different characters, I really enjoyed The Ivy House. I don't know what it is exactly, but whatever it is I really enjoy it. The attraction between the two people is always amazing. The people are instantly attracted to each other, but it take a little bit to fall in love. Something happens to upset the girl, they both care for the other but don't think it is reciprocated. and then everything works out. I liked the resolution in this book better than the first. It seemed more realistic and not as rushed.

Phoebe comes to Queensbay after her grandmother who raised her died. She left Phoebe the house, and when she gets there she is not quite sure what she wants to do with it. It needs work, and Phoebe doesn't have anything else pressing so she decides to stay and fix it up and start her own design line.

Chase is known to be a ladies man, but he really uses that for a business advantage. He has always wanted Phoebe's house, and when he learns that it might be for sale again he immediately goes up there to try and buy it from her. Of course things don't go as planned, they don't hit it off right away. They both think the other wants to destroy the house, when the both really just want to save it.

Slowly they start to get to know each other and fall for each other. They both still think the other has ulterior motives, or doesn't want the same things they do. Things between them are very hot and it is great to read how things progress. I don't know what it is, but it is great. The chemistry is tangible and you really just want everything to work out. A great, fun, hot read.

I received a copy of The Ivy House in exchange for an honest review.

I started The Ivy House, not realizing that it was the 2nd story in Drea's Stein Queensbay Series, but The Ivy House was strong enough to stand on its own, even without me knowing any of the history of Noah and Caitlyn.

Phoebe leaves California and comes home to Queesbay CT, to the house left to her by her screen legend grandmother Savannah. Savannah had always told her that The Ivy House (where Savannah and her husband Leland) had lived was a magical place and Savannah had always believed it right to the moment she drove up and saw how time hadn't been kind to the house and started thinking about how much work was going to have to go into it to make it a grand house again.

Once in town, she meets an attractive man, Chase Sanders, who makes her a generous offer on the house. Unbeknownst to Phoebe at first, Chase is the grandson of Leland - he was a young boy when Leland left his wife (Chase's grandmother) and hooked up with Savannah.

I really enjoyed the book, although it was a bit predictable - I knew that there were going to be some sparks between Phoebe and Chase mixed with some sort of misunderstanding along the way, and that I'd be pulling for them to work things out in the end.

I enjoyed getting to know Phoebe and her insistence that she make her way in the world without having to rely on her family's name or legend and I really enjoyed getting to know Chase and what made him tick and I really liked their connection.

I am looking forward to reading more by Drea Stein.

I was asked to read and review this book and was very excited to do this after reading Rough Harbor which is the 1st book in the Queensbay Series. I really enjoyed Rough Harbor. It introduced Noah & Caitlyn who appear several times in this book. You don't have to read Rough Harbor as this is a stand alone book but because some of the appearances of Noah & Caitlyn, I would recommend it. Not because it helps understand this story, just because it is a beautiful story and it will make you understand all the help they give to Chase & Phoebe. The Ivy House is very different story than Rough Harbor but is equally exciting. I love the story of Phoebe Ryan (granddaughter of recently deceased movie star Savannah Ryan) & Chase Sanders (grandson of Savannah's dead husband Leland). . When Phoebe comes from LA to Queensbay to take care of her grandmothers estate and home she inherits, she meets Chase who wants to buy the home right out from under her. The meeting of the two turns into something that neither of them expect or want. What follows is her love of the home and the magic of love she believes the house possesses. She has never felt truly "at home" until she spends time in this beat up run down home overlooking the water. This is a true love story that will have your heart hurting at times & you will be fanning yourself at other times. It was very well written, the steam of the characters was very hot and you can't help but fall in love with Phoebe & Chase.

Phoebe Ryan is Hollywood royalty, the grand-daughter of Savannah Ryan, a screen legend. All her life she’s been a Californian golden girl. But all that glitters isn't gold. When Savannah dies, Phoebe’s troubles have only just begin. Before she knows it, she’s been dumped, fired and evicted. All of sudden the glamour of LA is starting to wear a little thin.
So when she discovers Savannah has left her a small house in Queensbay, more than three thousand miles away, Phoebe eagerly hops on a plane.
Savannah had always told her that the Ivy House was magical, but the rundown cottage that faces her isn't what she expected. And neither is Chase Sanders, the grandson of the man with whom Savannah once had a torrid affair. Is Phoebe meant to relive the past? Or can Phoebe and Chase find their own magic in the Ivy House?
Phoebe is such a stickler for making it on her own. She resents anyone who wants to pull her famous
deceased grandmother's name and connect her to her family ties. She is a woman that is looking for a
permanent place in life, in love, and in friendships.
Chase is a 'playboy' with the looks to match. He first connects with Phoebe, when her Realtor tells him that she is ready to sell her grandmother's house. Sparks are flying from day one, and it never
stops.
Such a great romance. A great story. And a well written book. 5 stars.

This is part of a series, book two. Strangely the author has changed her name so not to spoil it you can catch her first book by reading ROUGH HARBOR by ANDREA STEIN. This will outline the relationship between Noah and Caitlyn. Although you could read this as stand alone.

Back to this one. Pheobe arrives in Queensbay to see the house that her Grandmother has left her. She is in the middle of a crisis, no family left, no job and her life is at a turning point.
The house needs TLC and lots of it, while wandering around the house for the first time wondering what to do player Chase Sanders arrives with an envelope with an offer for the house. Question she asks herself is does she stay and bring the house back to the magical place it once was or does she go back to California to live in the shadow of her screen legend Grandmother.

Their first few meetings are quite stormy, it is a business relationship that brings them together along with Chase trying to help with the house when ever he can.

Story is good, flows well and the characters are well formed. Look forward to book 3 in the series.

I received this book free in exchange for a review.
I liked this book but yet I didn't. I wish they would have done more with the old house, how Phoebe fixed it up and more about the trunks in the attic. I didn't like the sex scenes, seems all the authors need to include sex scenes in their stories, why I don't know, I skipped over those parts which were probably 1/3 or so. I liked the boat rides, and the descriptions of the harbor and the views from the house and the offices of Chase. I thought about giving up on the book several times, but continued on. I did like Phoebe she was a good strong character. Chase was a multi millionaire, but didn't spend anytime at his office, instead spent all his time trying to figure out how he could get Phoebe in bed (or anyplace he could)

This book was a nice little distraction. There was nothing spectacular about the book but it was a nice read. The storyline was predictable. Even thought I read straight through this book it wasn't a memorable read. If you want a distraction to past the time then yes go ahead and pick up this book, but if you're looking for more this is not the book for you.

To be honest if the other book I was reading when I was reading this one hadn't been so bad I probably would have been more annoyed with its predictability.

I enjoyed this book, it was better than the 2nd one. My still one complaint is not keeping the characters from the previous books involved in the story! Yes, Caitlyn and Noah were mentioned, but there hasn't been one word about Sean and Darby. Authors draw you in with characters and then you never read about them again!

The book was good, pretty predictable. I will read the last book, but I won't expect much to change. Unfortunately, the next book will be my last by this author.

I say this was 3.5 stars. I enjoyed it and thought the chemistry between Chase and Phoebe was very good. They had a rocky start but came to realize their attraction was too great.
I did feel that Phoebe jumped to a lot of conclusions about Chase. But as Chase's friend Noah said. Men and Women think and talk differently and a woman needs the words and not to assume anything.

Romance of the Century

Her grandmother, his grandfather were considered the Romance of the Century. Will history repeat itself for Chase and Phoebe? Between misunderstandings, an old house, and attractions being run from, this book is a great rollercoaster of a ride. 5 Star all the way.

I love Phoebe and Chases' story...beautiful, sensual, stormy at times but a true love. The story line is entertaining, interesting and sexy. I also really enjoyed the secondary characters they really helped make the story however it is time for poor Lynn to find her love she is truly deserving...Drea it is her turn!! ;)

The story was really good. I've already read rough harbour and loved it so I couldn't wait for this one and I was not disappointed. Chase and Phoebe are too cute together. I can't wait for more stories. It's a really good read.
