HOLY CRAP. This was better than I ever imagined it would be. I’m so glad you wrote what happened to Omar, since we wondered from book 1. It was a cool mystery, but knowing is way better. If you like space opera that has a soul, read Herron's series(es)! Every book is better than the last.
Thank you so much for sharing this story with the world! And I hope you win awards and movie deals because it would make an amazing movie!
A really good novella, and very hard to pull one's nose out of! A spellbinding story, well written, which gives us an explanation for events that those who have read the later books know happened, but we had no explanation for why - until this! I love the flying sequences, and for anyone who loves action, this has plenty, I'm glad to report. There is the main story of the book, but also a side story, which is fascinating. Also some lovely twists, and more explanation of the home world of the Kryl. The story is from Kira's perspective, and shows what shaped the woman and leader she became. This is a prequel to the Starfighter series, although it could be read on its own. For those who have read the other books, though, it is a 'must read'!
