Wow what a great set of books, it has taken me a few days to read them all but well worth the effort. All the events that were in the book I imagined took place at some point in society and many years ago. Some I had read about over the years in other books And in some of the older history books. This was a great read and history as told in so many ways is always something good to read about. This is my review and mine alone. This was a free book as well. Norma Gorrill
This is the first novel by Jennifer Blake I have ever read and it certainly is not going to be the last. I read a lot and how I missed any of her books is a mystery to me I know one thing for sure, it certainly is not the last. Her writing style is unique and makes for speedy reading. Also, she writes so delightfully that you feel that you are actually there or that you can really see or feel the object She really is a woman's novelist.
I really enjoyed this set of books. The setting and the time period made the books really interesting. There were times while I was reading that I became angry at the way women were treats, but it also shoed how strong they were . I really loved reading these exciting books.
Historical Fiction had me checking on some of the activity on Wikipedia, looking things up on Google Earth, and discussing some of it with friends, so a successful read. Read and think. If you are interested in the early history of our country, this fits into the narrative.
You will not believe how wonderful each story in this collection is! They may be longer than the books you normally read, but on my! They are full of action and great storylines. The characters will draw you in and you won't want to put it down!
I have been interested in Louisiana history since I first moved to Southeast Texas and have visited the Plantation homes. The books have interesting stories and characters but just a little too much description of the sex scenes.
OK! At last a romantic Historical novelist that does not repeat the same theme!
What a treat! Lots of intrigue, it's of some researched history -- a little overdone in the sex, perhaps because although most of us experience exquisite passion as such with those we love and pledge ourselves to, it's a stretch to portray all the lover's every encounter with such passion as years pass. Love the story lines. Make the sex more real with true desire and devoted love.
Jennifer is a great story teller. These are wonderful stories. For me, it was just a little bit more history and description, but still wonderful information. Always nice to learn some history when you read as well.
Seriously, this is a ereader problem. I have read some of the books in my e-library and there seems to be a really serious problem with typing from manuscripts to screen. Seriously, if you need typist....... I was a typist for years!!!!
This set was a nice and pleasant read. The characters are strong women and the stories are good. I think the last story and the first story were my favorite.
I don't usually care about following a certain author, just finding a book that looks interesting, read it and move on. I find I really like Jennifer Blake. She develops characters I want to know because they have some depth. The plots are interesting and not just pat. The Plantation series were fun to read, each being very different, and I highly recommend them.
