Georgia Donnelley is determined to be the boss of her own life by doing the things she never got to do while growing up. That and a few extra adventures added in. The only problem? She is broke, homeless, and hiding from an abusive ex. So instead, she heads back home to Darling, Tennessee.
Who knew life would take her back home to the man who awakened her Little eight years ago? Hutch hasn't thought about Georgia since the night she left Darling eight years before. At least, that's what he told himself until she crashed, literally, back into his life. It turns out the girl who sparked the Daddy inside him is his one and only. He'll spend forever with her if only he can protect her from her crazy adventures.
Oh yeah, and make sure her ex, who is determined to get her back, doesn’t make her dead instead.
A Daddy, a dose of suspense, and a blossoming Little
I received a free copy of this book through the 26 days of Christmas 2023 advent calendar. This doesn’t affect my rating and I’m leaving this review voluntarily.
Oh my gosh, I loved this book so much! I think this is my first Cami Carlisle read but it most definitely won’t be the last. Wonderful characters, both main and side. Enough story to keep me engaged and interested. A bit of heat. And wonderful power exchange between a protective Big and an adorable Little.
The ageplay is mild (no diapers and bottle feeding) but definitely there.
This author and series is getting on my favorite list.
1.5 Could have been an ok story but Georgia was too silly, a Master’s at Stanford? Unlikely. I ended up skipping around just to see what the big mystery was all about.
1.5* So badly written in places. No explanations about what happens between people.
Parts of this book were really good. I loved how the danger ramped up, and Hutch as a daddy is very sexy. Then there’s the rest of it……
Georgia left her home town when she was 18, to get married. She didn’t let her best friend know anything and didn’t keep in touch with anyone. Eight years later she comes back home to a frosty reception from her best friend, and Hutch. (As her and Hutch had made out before she left.) She only came home to see if she could borrow some money from her evil twin sister. Then it jumps forward and Georgia and her bestie are fine and Hutch understands what happened to Georgia. 😱😱. COULD WE THE READERS FIND OUT WHAT HAPPENED TO HER????? So annoying!
Her husband doesn’t take too kindly to Georgia leaving him, and the threats start to escalate against her. We still don’t have any idea what happened to Georgia though, as the author still hasn’t told us! 😡😡. As Georgia and Hutch grow closer, the threats escalate against Georgia.
THE ISSUES WITH THIS BOOK: The biggest issue I had is Georgia. I couldn’t stand her!! She makes stupid decisions, oh I’ll buy this car that’s pretty, but I don’t know anything about it. Oh it’s broke down, oh dear… 🙄 She acts almost stupid at times. She’s doing a bucket list, (No she’s not dying.) and it’s stupid things, like jumping from a cliff into a sink hole. She nearly downs and has to be rescued. 🙄 She’s just really annoying!!! We aren’t told what happened to Georgia till right near the end, and then I really didn’t understand why Georgia did what she did. Georgia speaks about her mother in past tense, so all the way through the book I thought she was dead. Then right at the end she isn’t. I still don’t understand why she married her husband. Why didn’t she keep in touch with her bestie? She had a phone.
There is a lot more I could say about this book, but I won’t. The frustrating thing is in parts I really enjoyed it.
The book was absolutely amazing, Hutch is such a protective daddy, it kind of reminds me of myself with my babygirl. The dynamic was right on point and the story drew tou deeper in as you read each word. I'm so thankful my babygirl suggested this title to me. It really has brought us closer in many ways. I can't wait to start reading your second novel "Reid".
This is a new author to me and I am liking how the series has started so far. Georgia has returned to her hometown and runs into her old crush Hutch. We get a lot of the details in this book throughout the story, so I would encourage readers to keep reading, because it all comes together. Hutch knows Georgia's family has always made her feel less than, and he encourages her little while helping improve her self-esteem. The sinister ex and crazy (read jealous) sister are the sinister villains, but I never expected the twist of just how awful they were. Thankfully we get our HEA. As this is the first book in the series, we're introduced to a number of characters and given just enough information about them that I am dying to know more. Bring on more Daddies and littles.
This book was absolutely everything you could possibly want from a CG book and it was all done with the flare, drama, suspense, and anticipation of a good old romantic suspense! It was absolutely wonderfully written with character development that was astounding for a new author. The story was funny, enticing, smexy, fun and edge-of-your-seat exciting! I didn’t want to stop reading and if life wasn’t such a pain in the derrière I wouldn’t have! I HIGHLY and with GREAT ENTHUSIASM recommend HUTCH to any and all readers of CG books! You absolutely won’t regret a minute of it! (Except maybe the end when you realize it’s over and the next book isn’t out yet 😆)
What is a little? I thought it was a typo in the blurb. And really, the whole stuffie stuff was beyond me. I thought this girl was 26? Its written like shes 12. I never made it out of Ch 1. Sorry, others liked it. Not my thing.
Solid DDlg fare. Hits the tropes thoroughly. Georgia leaves town without any notice on her 18th birthday (just after being spanked by Hutch for endangering herself -- yeah, you can see everything coming). She drops all connections to her friends, etc. and is married in California.
Story starts 8 years later when she almost wipes out on a mountain road in her hometown. And is rescued by the guy she ghosted. Meanwhile her sister is a nasty bitch and her mother is AWOL (and was really sinister to begin with).
The plot cranks on from there. Georgia's ability to deal with her little tendencies and life in general is very chaotic. Hutch goes from thoroughly angry to completely protective rather immediately. Then Georgia's ex and Geogia's sister start escalating threats to get her go to back to her ex.
Hutch is ex-Seal (yeah, yeah, everyone was a Seal in these kinds of books) and is part of a security and bad-ass company. And the town is full of DDlg couples.
And then the peril goes up to 11.
Honestly, I rather liked the book a lot. But Georgia's difficulty keeping things together is not consistent with her going to Stanford while in California (and graduating with honors). There basically were a lot of things that didn't quite add up, put in to hit all of the tropes.
What a wonderful find to come across. A new author & her debut book that I greatly enjoyed. A stalwart muscled brave hero who works for Sabre Security with fellow former military men. A heroine on the run who is compassionate, sweet, loyal & terrified of her ex. Plus she's desperately trying to find & strengthen her spine via her planned frightening 'bucket list' of uber daredevil things to try. He's a Daddy but wants only one woman for his Little & now that she's returned home he's determined to convince her to stay. Forever. With him.
I found this one to be enchanting, peopled with characters I loved & cared about as well as loathsome villains I was booing & rooting for them 'to get what they deserved'. The writing was excellent, I never found myself 'jarred' out of the story & it had a perfect blend of sensual tension, spice, mystery, danger & beautiful romance. An absolutely wonderful read I deeply enjoyed & will definitely reread. I cannot wait for the next book in this series!
Hutch finally has Georgia "Peaches", his little girl, back in his life, and realized he'd made a terrible mistake 8 years ago not trying to find her and the truth. They do get the bad guy 'of this story' in the end, but you're left with so many, many questions and not a completed HEA or even a HFN ending. It seems to me it's still a very dangerous situation. They shouldn't be letting their guard down just yet. And now there's another crime at the end for the next book! Connected??? So frustrating! I guess I'll have to read the whole series to get my answers. I hate these kind of books, but if you're ready to take on the whole series- it is an okay, suspenseful, DD/lg story, what there is of it. Also, I thought Hutch left Georgia in a few too many dangerous situations for supposedly being really good at his job and being her Daddy. 2.5 stars. I do recommend it but, with all the cons I mentioned above. 😣 I will keep reading though. I need to find out what happens. Hopefully, my answers will be in the next book.
This was my first read by this author and definitely not my last! I loved this story from the very beginning! Georgia is a Little, and so endearing and funny, that you can’t help but love her! She comes back to her home town after being away for quite a while and runs into her old crush, Hutch. He is surprised to see her, but knows that his feelings never changed for her. With her back, he is determined to keep her. Hutch is all Alpha and handsome, kind and caring, and he adores Georgia. This isn’t just about DDLG, there is a riveting plot and I just couldn’t put it down. These two made me laugh and cry with their witty interactions. They are perfect together! An absolutely delightful story! Now I need to read the next book in this series!
This is the first book I've ever read by this author and man was it good. The town is based in, the book shop, the characters all extraordinary. The things Georgia has had to endure from a child from her mother & twin sister will get you upset. The way she was answer by a husband that her mother made her marry for 8 long years. The 3 people that she had to leave being and wasn't aloud to contact week they weren't the only ones to welcome her back to town when she finally got away. The chaos that ensures around Georgia and Hutch will make you laugh, cry, hold your bottom and wish you had someone that loved you as much as Hutch loves her. Can't wait for the rest of the series.
Cami Carlisle is a new to me author and I'm not sure how I came across Hutch but I am happy I did. I was intrigued by the setting; a small Tennessee town called Darling where Daddys and their Littles are the norm. I immediately liked both Hutch and Georgia. His protectiveness, care and concern for her, his indulgence in her Little side and his unwavering regard for her safety. Georgia intent to reinvent heself with a bucket list of daredevil feats was funny. Her family's disdain for her sad. He numerous Little violations of Daddy's rules, intention al or not, has her in trouble more often than not. The suspense and danger surrounding her ex has Hutch and his Sabre teammates scrambling. I am looking forward to reading the next books in this series.
Got this book with SYKD, and I think it's my fault for not reading very well about the book abd the reviews. Didn't like the dynamic between the charachters, and the story was pretty flat. Nope, not reading the series, thank you very much.
Georgia was sweet and vivacious. Several times she was dumb as a box of hair. She would do the stupidest crap that caused needless angst. Hutch was borderline domineering instead of dominant/daddy. Granted, Georgia brought it out with her dumb actions.
Overall, it's a good story with a couple WTF moments. The biggest WTF has to so with the Mara (Georgia's mother), but won't say more to avoid spoilers.
I enjoyed the author's writing style as it kept me engaged, so I'll check out more books from the them.
Cami Carlisle brought this reader into a new world of reading. I've briefly read about Littles and Daddies in other books but not in detail. It's not normally my type of read. Ms. Carlisle has opened a new world of reading. She wrote Hutch and Georgie story in such a beautiful tasteful way, with clear understanding of what Littles and Daddies romance is about. From page one she had me hooked with the pink flower truck, to why Georgie's family hated her and the mystery why she disappeared for 8 years. Great read and highly recommend.
Oh, this book was a treat to read! I loved Georgia and Hutch's story. They know each other from the past but when Georgia comes back home, they meet up again. This story had me hooked from the start. There was sweetness, steamy scenes and drama involving Georgia's ex and her evil sister! I loved this so much that I'll be ordering a print copy to put on my shelves!! And I can't wait for the next book in this series!
I enjoy reading DD/LG books but am not fond of ABDL so this book ticked all the boxes for me. Not only did it have the Daddy/Little dynamic but it also had drama, suspense and action which made the book very enjoyable for me. I am hoping great things for this series and hope to read more books from this author, especially as she is a new author. If you like DD/LG books without ABDL I highly recommend this book.
I decided to read this after I saw it mentioned in a Facebook post. I am a huge laylah roberts fan, so decided to try this book. Good cast of characters and a nice mix of action, suspense and romance. This is in the ddlg genre, but also about dealing with some bad people. There are some parts of the story not fully resolved, so I hope she continues with further stories.
This my first time reading one of this author’s books and it was really good, A good story with steamy scenes. I’ve been reading a lot of Daddy books and I can say I’m going to add this author to my favorites!
So if you like Daddy/Little girl, touch her and die, over protecting, spanking, the Little getting into trouble and not listening and a fantastic main male character than you’ll love this book!
The fact that this is a debut is shocking. I want to move to Darling. I want a cof offee and spot by the fireplace in Books and Brews. I want a Daddy on the Sabre Security team. I want Cami to write my life. Over the top possessive and protective daddies are my obsession and Cami gets it right. Just the right amount of strict with understanding and attentiveness. Delectable.
CW: AgePlay, Domestic Violence, guns, kidnapping, stalking. Off page: human trafficking, child abuse, cheating, assault
This is the first in a series that needs to read in order for the plot the make sense. This is a Second Chance romance. The FMC is sweet and has escaped a terrible marriage she didn't want only to end up back in her home town face to face with MMC. They both fall quickly back together as the MMC works to keep the FMC safe. Mild spice level.
This is the first book in the series and I'm itching to read the rest today! Georgia, Peaches, cones home to Darling TN to get away from her abusive husband. She immediately encounters Hutch, the man in her past. The scenes between the two are HOT, and the mystery of what Peaches' husband wants from her is quite engaging. Peaches and Hutch's story is finished, but the mystery of what is going on in Darling is started. Great story!
Every time they turned around there was someone doing something to her. Safe is an operative word. Her daddy was so busy with a whole lot of stuff he just couldn't keep up. But in the end he took the bad people down. Came did great characterizations with this book and in the end it goes right into the next story smoothly. I may be a "Vanilla" woman, but this story was like a spy story. Very intriguing, full of danger and action.
Wow! I look forward to visiting the town of Darling again and again. Hutch is a member of the Sabre Security team. He is a retired Seal, and one strong, protective, and loving man. Georgia (aka: Peaches) is from an abusive family and he's determined not to let their poisonous ways cheat them out of their Happily Ever After. I devoured this book and I'm working my way through the entire series. Author Cami Carlisle brings danger, intrigue, care, and a Happily Ever After.
Really sweet second chance romance. Georgia had a lot of emotional trauma and when she came back home. Hutch helps her. Despite that her past comes back to hurt her emotionaly and physically. Think Hutch is my new favorite Daddy Dom and Darling my new favorite fictional home. A+. Can't wait to see what happens next....
Hutch is the first book of the Sabre Security Daddies series of interconnected standalones. I loved everything about this book! It grabbed my attention from the beginning all the way until the end and I wanted more. Hutch was protective and sweet and everything that Georgia needed. I can’t wait for more of this series!
This is my first book by Cami Carlisle & I have to say, I thoroughly enjoyed it!! It has suspense, hawt 🔥🔥scenes & 🔥🔥men. What more can I ask for?? I recommend this book, especially if you’re looking for a new author to check out. Cami hit all the feels in her first book & I look forward to the rest of the series!!
This is a great story. I love that the author added elements to the story that made it more realistic (don't want to say what because those would be spoilers). I would definitely want to see the truck that inspired Georgia's truck lol. I can't wait to read what Cami Carlisle writes about next involving the Sabre Security Daddies.
