I thought this book was funny. After Jamie Grimm being declared Funniest Kid in New York State Jamie is ready to go to the national semi finals competiton. Everything seemed to be going right for Jamie until his best friends mom has cancer and Joey getting into a lot of trouble at school. Then Jamie's uncle Frank gets a heart attack so he can't make it to the semi finals with Jamie and he loves his uncle so it was hard for him to leave without him. I really liked that no matter how bad he did in the quarter finals he got a chance to go to the semis in a wild card pick and he didn't give up and stuck to his gut. There was nothing I didn't like about the story.

The eleven year old who read this cannot believe he has to wait for the next book to release because he wants to read it right now. He devoured both books in the series in three days. I think he would rate it pretty high.

I received I Even Funnier a few weeks ago to review. At the time, I wasn't really sure if I would enjoy it or not, but after reading the first book I was feeling less weary towards it. I was worried that the I Funny books would be too "middle-grade" with immature humour and no depth, but I surprisingly enjoyed it! And in my opinion, the sequel to I Funny, I Even Funnier, was even better.

In I Even Funnier, Jamie is preparing for the semi-finals in Las Vegas for The Planet's Funniest Kid Comic Contest, trying to ace his exams and trying to find his way through the obstacles in middle-school. I won't say much more, as it will give away the story.

I really like Jamie! In the first book I liked him, and in this book he grew on me even more. I think as the series continues I will grow to love him. He's a great friend and has a sweet personality and loves to make those around him laugh. There were quite a few instances in this book where he tells us how he misses his family who died in a car accident a few years ago and how he wishes he didn't have to be in a wheelchair. I hope that one day he can walk again, if he gets the required surgery. I would love it if James Patterson had that happen!

The supporting characters were fantastic too and I love I to learn more about their lives. I really sympathised with Gaynor when his mom got cancer and how he felt so useless and angry that his mom was sick. My mom has M.E./CFS and lately it's been bad again so I can completely understand how he feels. It was nice knowing that there was someone who I could kind of relate to in this book.

I also like Pierce and how he always has new facts to tell everyone. Gilda really grew on me in this book. She's a great friend and has such a unique personality. I like Cool Girl as well, she's sweet to Jamie and she seems like a down-to-earth, dependable person. I love Jamie's Uncle Frankie, you can clearly see the bond between the two and I love the way he encourages Jamie and all that he does for him. Jamie's adoptive family also grew on me in this book. You could see that they genuinely cared for and loved Jamie and they were being more active in his life. Even Stevie, the school bully and Joe's cousin, seemed nicer in the book.

This book also had depth to it, though. With Gaynor's mom being diagnosed with cancer and the way he reacted to that. As well as one of Jamie's family members having a health scare.

The one thing I didn't like about this book though, is that it was very similar to the first book and it also wasn't that funny. Whenever Jamie said what his next routine would include, his jokes weren't stuff that were particularly funny and I found it quite unlikely that people would have tears rolling down their faces from his jokes, as it was such random things that didn't seem like he was even trying to be funny. However, I do like Jamie and I am interested to see what will happen in the next book.

I Even Funnier is a cute story that I will appeal to a lot of middle-graders! It has lovely illustrations in it that goes a long with the story nicely. It's a fast-paced book with cute characters and humour that will probably appeal to younger children. I would recommend this series to middle-graders.

Woof!

It goes something like this: every other page the narrator has to remind the reader how funny he is. And every other-other page he quotes/recites an actual famous/talented stand-up comic’s bit. Me and my 10-year-olds found ourselves groaning more times than actually laughing.

And not only was this awful but Patterson was cruel enough to make this over 300 pages?! (The same time we were reading this we were also reading Rotten School #1 by RL Stine and he was able to deftly do what Patterson couldn’t and in just a bit over 100 pages.)

Avoid.

I even Funnier
A kid named Jammie Grimm won the state Funniest Kids Comic contest. When he got back he started right away to find new supplies/jokes. He needed to have some people help him he was not going to be able to get this done without the help of his friends, and his uncle. He has some trouble though with his guardians brother a bully to him [His parents are not alive].
Then he goes on to regionals and he finds out that he will have some really good competition. One of them was his favorite comic until today. He got really insulted by him so now he cannot say he is his favorite comic anymore.
Well he barely got past the first round that day by finishing in 6th place. But then with some encouragement he blew the house away. No one was even close to him. So with that he won that competition.
He prepares to go on to the Simi-finals. When he was with his Uncle he found some really funny jokes. Then on the way home his Uncle had a heart attack. So he could not go to the Simi-finals without him. So he had to call in that he could not make it.
Then one day he got a letter in the mail that he could go to the wild-card competition in Las Vegas. He told his guardians and they said yes. So he and his family went to the competition and found a way to win. He had never felt so proud in his life, not because he did it, but that he had his uncle see it.
I would totally recommend it to anyone who can read. The book helps people realize if you stick to your dreams they can come true. The characters in the book are his Uncle, Gilda, Stevie, Smiles, and Jamie. Jamie is in a wheelchair because of the wreck that caused the rest of his family’s death.

I thought this book was better than the last book in the series. It has old jokes to new jokes that give this book a five star.I would put this book in the humor section with a kind of adventures felling. This book has good details with jokes in the mix so that's cool. This story is about a kid who wins this thing called the funniest kid comic and people think he's not that funny any more so he want's to regain his confidence.

This book was amazing! I loved the bit where Jamie was telling his jokes on stage! They are hilarious! Also, I liked that there was a bit of drama. Jamie's uncle gets a heart attack, and he gets very confused. He likes cool girl but is he cheating on Gilda Gold? He's kissed them both! They also kept suspense at the
end of the story by not yet showing the finals in Hollywood!

I even Funnier by James Patterson is one of my favorite books ever. In this book there is a couple of major turning points. Uncle Frankie had a heart attack and that shook Jamie to his core. Gaynor’s mother has cancer and no one knew about it until they figured out that Gaynor was stealing money from other students lockers. Last but not least Jamie had to quit the worlds funniest comic competition because of Uncle Frankie's heart attack but later received a letter to come back and perform at the wildcard round of the competition and won.

I loved this book even better than the first book, it had a great ending. I love how the character is relates to how middle school is for everyone, the experience he takes out of going to comedy contests and with friends shows you how you should look at events that maybe didn't go your way with a gleam in your eye and a smile on your face. Jamie Grimm is a kid who is stuck in a wheelchair, without his mom or dad, but he always has a smile. I would recommend this book for someone who wants to have a good laugh and read a good book.

I even funnier is fun book by James Patterson. It is the second book in the series. I think that The theme is family is what matters most. One example of this is when Jamie's friends at school run into some trouble, Jamie must help them. Another example is when a family health issue pops out.

the book I even funnier is about the main character Jamie grim and his hard time in middle school.Although he has friends named pierce, gilda, and Gaynor they don't do much to stop bulling.since his family died in a car accident,he lived but his legs got paralyzed so thats a big target.his aunt takes care of him and now his cousin became his half brother and a big bully. He becomes a big target not just because he is paralyzed, but he is a comedian.Over all it is a good book and I recommend the book to people who like nice long books and funny books

I think a good theme for this book is laughter is the best medicine. Jamie uses laughter throughout this book to make people happier and make himself more happy. In this book his friends mom is diagnosed with cancer and Jamie uses laughter to make her feel better.

James Patterson is one of my favorite authors and this book is no exception. In the story James creates a character that gives off a good lesson. My takeaway From the story is that everyone and anyone can achieve their goals, and don’t let barriers get in your way. In the book, Jamie Grimm is in a wheel chair but wants to do comedy, so he uses everything he has to make himself successful. It is a funny book too. :)

Following up the #1 New York Times bestseller "I Funny, "I Even Funnier" or as I can say, the most funniest book I have read this year. Taking a more different path from any James Patterson book, it actually is about an uprising comedian, Jamie Grimm. In my opinion, I would rate this book a 5/5! The plot was really interesting and unique. "I Even Funnier" shows originality throughout this book. Name a book that is written about a boy that is handicapped and is aiming to be the greatest stand up comedian. Even though the whole story of the book is low comedy, it still made me laugh. All in all, " I Even Funnier" is one of the funniest books I have read this year
