Hello! Thank you for stopping by. The short story is I was born in Toronto, Canada. When I was 16, my family moved to Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., and that is where I met my wife, Bev. We've been married for 43 years and share our home in Southwest Missouri with 4 dogs, 3 cats, 8 chickens, a herd of goats. We have 3 sons and 12 grandchildren that keep us hopping. I've been known to ride my motorcycle in nice weather, play golf in nice weather, and tend my garden in nice weather. In bad weather, I prefer to stay inside. :) Thanks to the support of you, our readers, I've been able to devote full time to my writing. Bev does our cover designs. We hope you our books are enjoyable and you'll let us know. Please feel free to contact us at: jdalglish7@gmail.com or on Facebook God Bless, John & Bev
This is the fourth in the series that follows Detective Jason Strong, this like the others did not disappoint.
The stories follow the story of Jason's personal life but each mystery is a stand alone story.
This story reunites Jason back with his partner Vanessa after she left to have a baby, I love their partnership.
This story is as good as the others and once again I could not put this book down until the end.
The stories are fairly short so can be read in one or two sessions, this is good because the story keeps you glued.
I have rated this one five stars because without ruining the plot there are plenty of twists and turns.
I really enjoy these series and could definitely see this being made into a Television Series.
I eagerly await the next installment.

it is refreshing to read a good book that isn't filled with profanity and sexual situations on every page and the suspense was still there throughout the book. Look forward to the other ones in the series
Again, an intriguing story and likeable characters.
BUT the proofreading/editing errors!!
Please, this is wrong...switching tenses: "She'd made detective before him..." followed shortly after by "She's smart..."
Then there was this "...SAG was in the southern part of the city." "It's a sprawling campus..."
On the same page: "Sergeant Connor is normally a..." and "Dave looked."
Also, "It’s a golf course community..."
"The neighborhood is middle..."
Inconsistencies: Getting the videotape to watch--“Sure, but it’ll take a day or two. Corporate has to say okay.” followed by, that same day, "Jason flashed the video tape at her."
“Detective Chuck Peters.” A name on one arrow...this should have sparked something in their lieutenant's memory. They were partners back in the day!
Grammar: "To her immediate right, a trampled section of grass next to a tree." should be something like... To her immediate right, there was a trampled...
"...and this year was a very nice Dell laptop." I would use "and this year it was a very nice Dell laptop."
"She slumped back in her chair, making the handcuffs to jangle," That's just awkward. Maybe it's a local phrase. But I would use "causing" not "making"
Also, what took so long to figure things out? The first victim's husband was reading about the Circle K murders ten-year anniversary. Surely, after the second murder he might have made the connection? Surely, the lieutenant might have thought about it, when one of the victims was his former partner's son?
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
A series of murders targeting family members of current and former police officers once again has Detectives Strong and Layne struggling for answers. Trying to find the connection between the victims is proving to be a very daunting task, more so as the killings increase and in one case the victim is a prized race horse.
Another intriguing and interesting novella, well written with a complex storyline. I finished It in one sitting, it held my interest throughout and as usual the perpetrator was a complete surprise. On to book5! 🎉🎉👏👏🌟🌟📚💞
Jason Strong Series I have finished the entire series and have nothing but praise for every one of them! It’s wonderful to have an author who doesn’t rely on bad language for “realism” yet peaks interest in both plot and characters. Excellent series; endearing characters; great reads.
Just finished my fourth book. Love the short reads. They don't take long to read but have a great storyline. The main characters are well developed and believable. They follow through the series but each book can be read as a standalone. Easy to read in one sitting.
This is the first book by this author I have read (4th in the series for Jason Strong). I am looking forward to other books written by this author. This is a fast/quick read full of suspense and action, but it doesn't have bad language, sex or gory details. The book is about killings taking place in San Antonio. The killer is called the 'Hunter' because he/she uses bow and arrow (the blade is made of razorblades). At first the killings that include family members of the police department don't seem to be related. Once Strong and his partner Vanessa find out the first victim was an expensive horse owned by a former police officer that they begin to find the common factor between the killings and who the killer is.
Great book to read. Main characters were believable. I liked looking into the personal lives of the detectives (ok slightly look into their lives). These characters have been developed over 4 books and I have only read the 4th one. I do like the two main detectives Jason and Vanessa. They seem to make a good team.
I would recommend the book to others.
I received the book for free through Goodreads Giveaways.
This is the fourth book in the series and the action and suspense continues with excellent characters and great adventures. The story is quick but interesting to read,Jason and his partner Vanessa on the trail of a killer using a bow and arrow on his victims. The two detectives find a tie between all victims, and it seems to be all police officers involved in an old case. The ensuing search for the killer shows the best of Jason, with very little bad language the story flows smoothly. Great police procedural that is well-written and shows a psychological reason with the killer. Fun reading from start to finish!
Great series so far! Silent Justice is the four book in a good series of police procedural murder mysteries written by a Christian author! Detective Jason Strong and his partner, Vanessa Layne are back! In this novel, they're hot on the trail of a serial killer who is shotting victims with a bow and arrow, instead of a gun! the characters as the same in the novels so far are well written, and realistic! Detective Jason Strong is still a good detective because of his kindness and determination to see the case though, and his partner Vanessa still has his back though it all!
this is a good little story. Well developed overall, believable as well. It was not easy to who the guilty party was. The one thing that always bothers me with Jason strong stories is that it is as if he does not have any kind link back to dispatch. As if he has to try and solve everything himself, then when he can't, at that time he calls for backup or other patrolman. That should be done immediately so somebody is on their way. But other than that it actually is really good. The reader is ok for this type of a story.
This is the 4th in the series and I really enjoy them. Good mysteries and no need to worry about bad language or sex. They are good clean stories that keep you interested and turning the pages.
Jason and his partner are on the hunt for a killer who uses arrows to hunt his victims. Each arrow has the name of someone who has ties to the SAPD. Will they find the killer before they get to someone else on the list?
John Dalglish does it again! This is another exciting and suspenseful book following an investigation conducted by Detective Jason Strong and his partner. As always, Mr. Dalglish created a novel that can be enjoyed without reading all of the gory details found in other books in the crime fiction / mystery genres. In my opinion, this is the best in the series so far because it provides a more in-depth look at the main characters and the psychological reasoning behind the killings.
Okay, these books are so far beyond excellent. By reading these books in order you will begin to feel as if you have become part of the 'family' of these characters. Exceptionally well written and very enjoyable. In fact you will find yourself reading and wanting to read the next book to see what will happen next. I feel totally comfortable recommending these books to anyone. Excellent job of writing. Thank you Mr Dalglish.
As a Texan, I don't usually enjoy many books that are set in or written about Texas, but this one was an exception. The characters are believable, intelligent, and likeable (my main criteria for a good book), there was plenty of action and the book read quickly. I rate this one 4.5 stars and will be reading more by Mr. Dalglish.
This is not the first book I have read by this author. Reading this one shows me why. It has a great story line and draws you in and keeps you there until finished with the book. I recommend the book for great reading.
Quick read, it kept my attention the whole time. This is the first book that I have read by this author but will not be the last. I look forward to reading the other books in this series.
I can't thank Mr. Smallish enough for a wonderful suspenseful crime series. It is so refreshing to read a book that doesn't need the horrible language that other books seem to have. Great characters in every book, ones you wish you knew.
I just finished book four of this series and I have really enjoyed this series. I am getting ready to start book five. They are short stories but they keep you in suspense up until the end . Would recommend this series.
Characters are exciting. It is such an easy story line to follow with a fast pace. All about losing a love one an the revenge of the heart. The story is well worth reading again
The Jason Strong series written by John C. Dalglish just keeps getting better. The fourth installment finds Detective Strong and his partner Vanessa trying to catch The Hunter, a master archer who is picking off certain people. Very good thriller.
How far would you go to make others suffer the way your family suffered because of a crime that went horribly wrong? This book shows the extremes some may feel are justified.
