Somewhat convoluted, mixing the arrival of a sibling with the delivery of mail, with puns for names. I hoped to see postcards, letters, and greeting cards in the mail, not just packages. The big stamp on the cover led me to think there might be something about stamps in the story. There wasn't.
I was looking for a fun Penguin book and this is definitely fun. Milo isn't sure how he feels about the egg that hasn't hatched yet.. and when mum has to go feed and dad has to sit on the egg, someone has to deliver the mail. So Milo takes on this important task...
This would be good for families expecting a new baby where a first child isn't sure how they feel about a new brother or sister... it is also full of parcels and letters being delivered so if you want a story about postal things this will also cover that too. Lovely illustrations too.
What an enlightening little tale about a penguin who takes on more responsibility (delivering mail) because he is going to become a big brother. The book follows Milo, the big-boy penguin as he delivers the mail to other residents of The Pole. In the end he gets a surprise and is happy with the special delivery of his little baby brother.
