This is definitely a slice of life with extra spice thrown in here and there. It's largley light-hearted and comedic. I enjoyed it.
My biggest critique would be that the slice of life stuff feels too... boring and hollow? I found myself unable to enjoy all the slower bits as much as I usually can. I also noticed myself getting flustered with the big fight scene getting drawn out but I got over that.
It really does come down to the slower slice of life stuff. If I had to guess the author knows more about what the action scenes should look like than the slice of life scenes.
My advice? Give us some actually movement in his mundane living. Better more concrete goals in his slow living. Succeed in the rock farm, get a hobby, and try not to be robotic or too 'game like' in regards to his relationships. They often feel like a game event and while that is cute and funny it's important not to ride that too hard. Give us a charmed life that would be fun without the apocolyptic threats and then juxtipose it with those to keep things fresh and lively.
Good luck and good reading to both readers and the author. 👍👍
A female from Earth digs her way through a alternate reality to another world .
A female struggles to exist in a dying world that is earth . Everyone she ever knew friends and family all passed away . She is the only survivor left all alone. So she decides to dig one last time finds an abandoned basement an starts digging a hole she never stops until she punched through to the alternate reality of another world by accident she didn't know any such place existed . The Overseer of souls welcomes her to her domain an ask her if she would like a second chance at life on her world she accepts but the body she inhabited is a male body just that came available that day . So she becomes Nike a young male of age probably teenage age . So his second life begins again .recommend reading excellent book .
This was a pretty fun read. The start was a little sad, but then once we got into the story, the influence of games like Harvest Moon, Stardew, and Rune Factory was pretty obvious. All in all, I enjoyed it and hope there’s a volume 2 in the works.
I went with 4 stars instead of 5 because hero is a rock farmer, yet he does everything but farm rocks. He’s kind of weirdly overpowered as well, and while it works, it felt to me like too much, too fast, if that makes sense?
Good book. To me, this is what I expect when a story says it is a farming slice of life. Sadly, there wasn't much farming. But that was ok. This book felt like what could happen if my uncle left me a farm in Stardew Valley. This feels like what your life could become in that situation. I enjoyed this quite a lot. I would be willing to read more books in this series. Now, I am going to check out what other book the author wrote.
I enjoyed this strange depressing and uplifting story. It shows someone who lost everything and everyone. He did not give up and did something that was stupid but made him remember his happy childhood. He was saved by this and went to anther world. This world has problems but he does not care and goes out and makes friends and tries to find the happiness in everything. Give this a try. I am waiting on the next book
Don't let the title of this book turn you off, it is a very interesting viewpoint of life in a video game. The character in the beginning that digs, ends up changing from the life he has to another person's life in a peaceful game that has townsfolk and rock farming and magic folk that live in the hills that fights off creatures formed from something called mana. Very interesting book. And fun to read.
But with very bland, one dimensional characters. This is funny, it it entertaining, but also very predictable. An overall okay book, but nothing really special or very fun.
What a wonderful beginning to a series!! I cannot wait to see what happens next. Absolutely love Nike, Dan, Bran, and Gran (our adorable Sprites). A.K.A. TEAM VALLEY. They are absolutely pure in everything they do and I love that.
Optimistic and insanely happy characters! Could have used some more evolved “spice” but the thematic, brilliant, innocence of a ,can do attitude, showed the authors zeal for slice of life.
