The Glorious Twelfth

Rate this book
An archaeological dig finds clues linking the aristocratic Sinclair family to its Templar past and origins in France. Loose talk leads to a robbery, abduction and chase across Europe in the quest to find the stolen Sinclair treasure and the beautiful Sinclair heiress, Fran. In the process, archaeologist Ben Harris falls in love with Fran and after rescuing her in Paris and losing his job, is drawn to the north by her allure. But her extensive baggage keeps getting in the way. Can their love blossom against the odds and the machinations of the locals? Study of a long abandoned Sinclair castle leads to the discovery of possibly one of the greatest archaeological finds in Christendom. Has Ben Harris found the Holy Grail? Can he protect his find from the malevolent attention of rival grail-hunters? It's a suspense mystery set mainly in the North of Scotland with forays to Edinburgh, France, Italy, Egypt and Poland.

Grail Fever! An entertaining read.

With car chases, ancient scrolls, hidden chalices, sacred stones, boar hunts, grouse hunts and more, 'The Glorious Twelfth' is an entertaining novel. Part thriller, part mystery, part romance, it deals with the themes of greed, redemption and love and features many interesting characters who are sympathetic in spite of having flaws. This gives a very Scottish slant to the Templars, too.
