Genevieve Rodriguez is less than thrilled when her older brother’s best friend, Deo, runs off and marries Whit, the girl who doesn't even deserve him. At least that’s what Gen believes. And so what if everyone thinks it’s just a stupid crush? She’s had a thing for Deo for as far back as she can remember.

Freshly heartbroken and downright annoyed, Genevieve is also one ‘D’ away from getting kicked out of school. In other words, life could be better for the rowdy, youngest Rodriquez sibling. Her only hope of passing physics is her quiet, nerdy tutor, Adam.

Adam isn't her type at all. He’s too quiet, too polite, and he’d rather stare at lab charts than bother to notice the bustier top so sexy, it turned the head of every guy in a five-mile radius.
When Adam tells Genevieve that he won’t be back after winter break because his visa is about to expire, the words drop out of her spontaneous, heartbroken mouth before she has the time to think...

“Marry me.”

Thinking it’s a joke, Adam gives Genevieve a firm no. But when the joke turns into something more, all bets are off and all limits are broken. Adam may not notice a perfect bustier, but he can’t resist a good argument. And Genevieve has been arguing to get exactly what she wants her entire life.

Jews in Love!

…or how I learned to stop worrying and cook with duck fat.

OK, this book really isn’t about duck fat, but it is mentioned several times in connection with cooking (Israelis use duck fat and American Jews tend to use chicken schmaltz (which we really don’t anymore because it’s a guaranteed heart attack)).

Sometimes it’s just really fun to read a book and find…me in it. Someone I can relate to in every way (Adam) or in almost every way (Genevieve). There aren’t a lot of Jewish MCs in romance novels, though we sometimes show up as the best friend – as in, the character has a Jewish name, but nothing else. I think authors write books and make the characters as generically American as possible so that the most amount of people will relate to the characters (Christianity doesn’t fare much better either – if I see them going to church I sometimes do a double take). So yeah, it’s fun to see my culture and religion reflected in a story and see things that I totally relate to – like duck fat.

Now, besides the fact that the MCs are Jewish, I loved this book. I mean, really loved it. Adam and Genevieve are really awesome people that remind me of people I’m friends with. They’re real. They’re good. They’re fun. And I love the way they love each other. They’re crazy about each other, but because they don’t know each other all that well, they’re terrified at times to say it, or don’t know how to show it. And I thought that awkwardness was really sweet and realistic. No Stupid Mistake. No Big Misunderstanding (OK, a little misunderstanding, but what do you expect – they didn’t exactly know each other when they married – and, thank God, it has absolutely nothing to do with Gen’s former crush (because that would be too cliche for a book this good)).

I’m going to keep my eye out for the fourth book in the series and catch up with the first two. And not because the characters are Jewish. Nope, it’s because Steph Campbell and Liz Reinhardt are such damned good writers.

BTW, the people on the cover were perfect for this book. They looked exactly like what I thought the characters should look like and it was a great feeling to find the cover helped rather than hindered (you know, like in a book where a guy is in a wheelchair but on the cover he’s standing, or she’s blond, but not on the cover, or one of them is black and on the cover they are white (yeah, I’ve seen that)…which to me is probably the most blatant example of a publisher NOT reading the book.).

What I love about this series is everything is real. Real life isn't a dramatic and painful as some books make it, at least not for everyone and definitely not all the time. This series has trial and difficulties that are real yet not devastating. Gen and Adam's stories are normal, they are both working hard towards their futures and struggling to be themselves. They make a deal to help Adam, both knowing they have feelings for each other but never speak them aloud. When they finally realize it was always for the right reasons, it's sweet and touching. Can't wait for the next one!

We need more hot geeky guy heroes, Adam was just yum. A total sweetheart too he just needed the girl that made him think outside his book. I was in huge book hangover this one was so easy to get in to, two unlikely people perfectly meshing. Steph Campbell and Liz Reinhardt is doing awesome in this series it's fun, engaging but stories with a message.

Carrie's Review~

This is the 3rd book in the Length Series~ They can be read alone or in order~ I quickly 1-clicked this book as soon as I heard it was coming out because I really like reading Liz and Steph's work, and after reading Lengths,Depths I knew this was going to be a good one. Okay so here we go....

Lets start off with Genevieve~

She's a beautiful young lady, baby of the large Rodriguez bunch, has a little self esteem issues and not sure what she wants, always being 2nd guessed...and LOVES... hard.

And than we have Adam~

Our lab geek, scientist, who secretly has a body to die for once its undressed, who's here on a Green card that wasn't searching for love!

Okay-so now that we have that out of the way, I'm actually picturing these guys as I'm writing this review. It all started with Genevieve~ she's the baby of the Rodriguez bunch and she just doesn't get the respect and seriousness like the other brother and sisters, and what they don't know she's failing school. Genevieve has been assigned an awesome tutor to help her on her way.. and that is ADAM. Adam is the lab guy, the scientist.

Adam has helped our dear Genevieve get thru her work, but that's what he is, her tutor. He thinks she's so gorgeous, with her outrageous outfits and 4' stilettos, Why would she give him the time of day?

"She's so gorgeous, it makes a little dizzy. She has this face that's pretty much the perfect example of human beauty and symmetry--sharp, high cheekbones, full lips, wide, prettiest- but, even though the scientist in me knows that her beauty is based on years of evolution that trains me to see signed of health and vigor as attractive, the man in me knows its something else that makes her so hard to look away from. "

Genevieve has been a little down these days, since her childhood crush Deo went off and got married, she was really okay with it, but everyone else thinks that she needs to be watched. Adam decides to take our girl out to show her some stars~

"I think, sometimes when your not happy in a place, you'll look for an excuse to leave. Sometimes that means avoiding the things that might tie you closer to it"

Adam has a little dilemma, he has been so busy with his research that he forgot that his Student Green Card has expired. Genevieve does the only thing that she thinks is right because again, Genevieve LOVES. And ask Adam to marry her.

Adam thought this was worst idea, Oh my gosh could they get into trouble. How can she seriously want to marry him, and ruin her life? Just so he can stay in the states? Adam knew this was not going to work, he denied her.. he couldn't have her pretend to have this fake marriage just for him.

"Because that's what I want my marriage to be whenever it happens. Forever".

But beautiful Gen always gets what she wants...

This story is beautiful, but it took me a little while to get into it. By chapter 5 I was hooked and finished it the same day. There is a 4th installment in the Lengths series is coming soon!!

I loved Deo and Cohen but can I take a second to say that I ABSOLUTELY FELL IN LOVE WITH ADAM!! And It has to be said that so far in this series he is my favorite!!! He was the perfect combination or smart, sexy, and sweet! (*sigh*) The way Ms. Campbell and Ms. Reinhardt developed this story was a unique one and it captured my attention from page one until the very end! No surprise since this dynamic duo seems to have a knack for doing just that! And Genevieve ... Well I didn't think I would like her all that much in the last book but let me just say that she might also be my favorite girl in this series as well! She was real and sooo vulnerable and confused that it was identifiable seeing as well what more do most women want but to escape loneliness and find that special person? This was an incredible story and I loved/enjoyed every minute and I'm eagerly waiting the next one.

I didn't expect this book to be this good.
Let's just say that I found the authors are inconsistent in creating books that I like.
Starting from the first page when I read Adam's thought, I got hooked up. Hahaha, Adam is so me... In the way how we think and act, I mean. I even experienced that frustration when my experiments failed and how a poor foreign student struggled. So, I can say that the descriptions in this book is spot on.
I have to say the characterization is excellent. All the characters are well fleshed out. The characters were not perfect which make them a human but still they tried to do their best which make them a likable human being.

One of the surprising finds of this year.

Now that I'm truly invested in this series, I can honestly say that it's really hard for me to pick a favorite book and a favorite couple, because they're all so great! These books are just so easy to get completely involved in. They're the kind of books that are hard to put down.

Ok, look...Gen was my least favorite character up until this book. She's the baby of the family, kind of a brat, overly sensitive, and a little too girly for me. That said, this was the first book where I got to see her POV, so that made sooo much difference. She is sensitive and tends to overreact on occasion, but I really ended up liking her. Her family doesn't really take her seriously, so she's just kind of floating along. She works for her dad, she's barely skimming by in school, and she hasn't had a solid relationship, because she's been hooked on Deo for so long. The only person that seems to get her is her tutor, Adam.

OH MY...nerd crush! Adam is so dreamy. He's the nerdy scientist, who doesn't realize that he's sexy. There's a lot more to Adam though. He's sweet, caring, and ultimately helps Gen realize her worth. Adam has had the hots for Gen for a while, but he never thought he stood a chance. But, when his deportation gets closer, Gen proposes. She doesn't want to lose him as a tutor, but she's also starting to realize the depth of her feelings for him too.

What I loved the most about them as a couple was that they both brought out the best in each other. Adam is great at making Gen recognize her strengths, but Gen was good for Adam in a lot of ways too. Her greatest gift to Adam was love. After his mom's death, it was just he and his dad. His dad wasn't the best at showing love and affection, so Adam was missing that close sense of love and support that a family should provide. Gen gave him that.

Overall, once again....I loved it! The couples in this series, each have a special place in my heart. They're all so different, so it's easy to find something to relate to with each character/couple. I'm super anxious to see what's going to happen with the next book in the series, TIES! The character is new to the group, but she's Deo's sister! Can't wait! If you haven't gotten the message by now, I love this series and think everyone should read it. Sooooo.....go get it!

Quotes:
~The way he dresses is all neat and nerdy professor, but the way he smells? It's this wild mix of cologne and something I can't put my finger on. Something that smells like leaning too far over the side of a bridge feels. Or the way the ocean sounds when it crashes during a storm. He smells the way I want to live, and I can't inhale him fast enough.-pg 53

~Genevieve Rodriguez is making me a better person. It's exciting and completely, and utterly terrifying.-pg 155

~"And you can't let me down. Because every damn day you're giving me new reasons to fall in love with you. Even when you're swearing at me while I'm driving up a mountain or schooling me on how to start a boat. Even when you infuriate me by skipping class, you still leave my dinner on the stove. You aren't prefect, Gen. And neither am I, not by a fucking long shot. But you're so damn perfect for me."-pg 280

Books about marriage aren't usually my thing, but in Limits, Genevieve and Adam certainly do not have a typical marriage. He's been tutoring her in math for most of the year and does have a bit of a crush on her. He can't help it, but he's also shy and doesn't think a girl like Gen would ever be with a geek like him. But then she asks him out, and he lets her know that it won't work, because he's being deported back to Israel! Adam needs to finish his thesis research, Gen needs to not flunk out of college, so of course they get married!

Limits takes a serious issue and makes it heartfelt and sexy. It's not like they take getting married lightly. Gen just has a big heart and wants to help in the only way she knows how. Adam is more hesitant, because they could get into big trouble over this. But they do it! And it's hard! Obviously, this is a (kind of) fake relationship turned real romance. They already had the attraction and flirting, but it took getting married for them to act on it! They fight over domestic stuff, have sex, get to know each other, have more sex, fight some more, but they always end up talking things out! Plus they have the support of friends and family. Marigold continues to be the awesomest literary mom ever.

I just really enjoyed Limits. Fake relationships turned real is one of my favorite tropes. I also love the geek getting the hot girl! Although there is a lot more to Gen than just her looks, even if a lot of people don't see that; Adam does! And they're both Jewish! It was nice to see some different wedding traditions which kept me from being too annoyed at all of the wedding planning stuff. Although now I'm craving some challah bread and flautas (Gen is half Mexican, as we learned in Depths).

Read the entire series and was not a fan. The women in the books are all weak and "saved" by a man. I am all for a Knight in shining armour, but there were not any qualities about the characters that made me cheer for them.

So good👌 can't believe I just read all that in one sittting. I flew through this book that is about two lonely people who entered into a marriage of convenience so that the other one can remain in the country. Probably sounds so cliche and seems like a tired plot already isn't it? But no, I just loved how refreshing and unique this came to me even though I am perfectly aware that this has a plotline that have also been used time and time again. Somehow, the author managed to really pull me into her writing. And this one was really interesting.

Loved the nerdy, geeky, quite shy MMC. This mmc is really my cup of tea. I also really loved the FMC, though at first, she may seem a little shallow and annoying however, there was such a great character development from her and I really liked that. I loved the secret mutual pining, how they care for each other, how they love each other. They are crazy about each other and even if they don't explicitly say it, their actions shows it. Another thing I really liked was that it was realistic, I liked that the author showed that it's not all rainbows and unicorns after getting married, there would be arguments but you both have to be willing to work it all out and that's exactly what our MC's have done.

I think the pacing was just right, didn't really love much of the side characters cause' I believe most times, they were just so rude to the MMC (mostly the fmc's siblings). Also, I think that ended quite abruptly. That last chapter could also have shown their private talk about the last conflict in the book but nopeee, suddenly it's the epilogue. However, I truly enjoyed this book and finished it overnight. Perfect for a nice, quick read.

Review: Limits: A Refreshing Well/House

LIMITS:
Love, Love, LOVE this story. I was instantly attracted to these characters, Genevieve and Adam, and their blossoming, though, hastened relationship. Limits is the third installment in the Lengths series, but can be read as a stand alone. However, I guarantee you, you're going to want to read more from Steph Campbell and Liz Reinhardt. I will definitely read the first two, Lengths and Depths, to find out more about the secondary characters mentioned in this book.

Limits is fast paced and constantly keeps you wanting more. At first you think it's a sweet, romantic book and then, Holy Moses, things get steamy and I am all verklempt.

Adam is a thesis away from his Ph.D., which he looks forward to flaunting in his dad's face, back home in Israel. So cocky in his studies, he forgoes extending his education-visa and quickly regrets it. Adam tutors on the side and Genevieve is a flashy Barbie doll compared to his petri dish-stalking/'work-a-holic' demeanor. He sees deeper though and even as she tries her best to get his goad, he knows she has so much more to offer.

In a few minutes, Genevieve will be here, ten minutes late on the dot. It’s so irritating. Why is she always exactly ten minutes late? Why not just come at the arranged time? When I mentioned this to her once, like a reasonable person, her answer was, “Why don’t you just change the appointment time, Adam?”
Campbell, Steph; Reinhardt, Liz (2013-06-10). Limits (Lengths) (p. 8). Kindle Edition.

Genevieve is trying to find her way when everything seems to be falling down around her. With the help of a intuitive family friend, Gen discovers what she needs is for someone to believe in her. That someone also happens to be the attractive, but can't be swayed, tutor, Adam. His belief in her is Adam's sexiest feature but a foreign concept for Gen to grasp. She feels she is a constant mess up without direction in her life.

My skin heats up and my lips tremble. The way he dresses is all neat and nerdy professor, but the way he smells? It’s this wild mix of cologne and something I can’t put my finger on. Something that smells like leaning too far over the side of a bridge feels. Or the way the ocean sounds when it crashes during a storm. He smells the way I want to live, and I can’t inhale him fast enough.
Campbell, Steph; Reinhardt, Liz (2013-06-10). Limits (Lengths) (pp. 53-54). Kindle Edition.

Gen, moving on impulse, proposes to her tutor to keep him in her life. Adam can't possibly put Gen in danger or anything that would jeopardizing her future and refuses. Bio-magnetic chemistry, and perhaps destiny, eliminate any doubt and the two agree to take a huge leap a faith. However, lawfully becoming your tutor's beloved when you barely know him has some drawbacks. Limit's is more about how two intelligent people put logic aside and let their love for each other guide them.

“Gen, baby? Are you okay?” His voice is so sweet, all frantic with worry. I let out a long breath, the relief palpable in the way the tension melts out of my body just because I heard him say my name.

Campbell, Steph; Reinhardt, Liz (2013-06-10). Limits (Lengths) (p. 213). Kindle Edition.

Limit's wording is romantic and the emotion is deep. Adam has a few moments where he can't believe how lucky he is to have Gen in his life. The raw professions of love are intense and I feel like he should be hanging out under a balcony somewhere.

I don’t ever want to say or do anything that hurts you Genevieve. I honestly just want what’s best for you, I want you to be happy. And you deserve to be so, so happy. You’re amazing. And bright. And so, so damn sexy. I don’t deserve to know you, much less call you my wife. I know this situation is crazy. And I know you put a lot on the line so that I could stay here. And now I’m at this point where I wouldn’t even really want to stay if you weren’t....” I sigh. She hasn’t moved or said a word, and I feel like a total asshole. “I wouldn’t want to stay here anymore if you weren’t in my life, Genevieve.”

Campbell, Steph; Reinhardt, Liz (2013-06-10). Limits (Lengths) (p. 238). Kindle Edition.

I enjoyed this book so much because I never felt like I had to wait for the next exciting section of the book. I was amazed how much I read in the first couple hours. The two characters were never self consumed with their decisions. They made a decision and forged on with the results. This was a refreshing feature for a romance. I definitely recommend trying out the Lengths series if you need a quick pick-me-up in the romance department.

This is just for me because I heard this statement so many times when I first met my husband; a Swede going to college in the US.
When I came to the US it was to get an education. I know it makes me sound like a loser, but the last thing on my mind was finding a woman. Somehow, I ended up with not only a woman in my life, but a wife. It’s so much more complicated than anything I could have ever dreamed up but, damn, it feels good.

I knew my chances were bad to start with: nerds like me do not score gorgeous chicks like Genevieve Rodriquez. But she set me straight right away and now we have a good thing going: I tutor her, she sometimes pays attention, we have a friendly-ish vibe, and it works. Other than the times when I slip up and forget that it's never going to be more than platonic. Luckily, she's got a killer sense of humor on top of being drop-dead gorgeous, so I've never put my foot too far down my throat.

Genevieve is the baby of the Rodriguez clan. Her teenage crush Deo got married, her older brother Cohen is engaged, and Genevieve feels alone, lost, and not good enough. She is floundering in school and getting tutored by Adam. They like each other but are both too timid to make a move even though they share an attraction. And when Gen finally decides to take a chance on the guy that has been right in front of her, Adam is powerless to resist. But they have a problem...he is about to be deported back to Israel since his work/school visa is expiring. She comes up with a plan...to marry her in order to stay in the country. So they face her domineering family and friends and embark on this adventure together.

These two people are so unsure of themselves and their own abilities, but can see the amazing qualities in each other. I loved seeing their "fake" marriage become more real. They both had personal growth due to the support and acceptance they found in each other.

I need her to realize that she's damn amazing. I need her to stop selling herself short.
"You need to try harder when it comes to yourself"

Genevieve Rodriquez is making me a better person. It's exciting and completely utterly terrifying.

I adored Adam. I seriously just wanted to hug him. He is not the typical alpha book hero. He is a tutor and a Science Geek(Gasp!), but he is also handsome, sexy, and a little bossy. He tends to be more domineering when it comes to Gen's own good. He pushes and challenges her to be all that she can be. Most importantly he sees the potential in her where she has always though of herself as a screw up with no direction and not good at anything. And Adam is also vulnerable and does not feel worthy of her. He has had issues with his research and his experiments keep failing. He hates that she has taken a risk for him and he cannot offer her more. So it is like they are two imperfect people who compliment each other and fit perfectly together.

"I feel like there's no possible way that I can avoid disappointing you and I promise it won't be a one-time deal..I'll figure out new ways, all the time in fact, to let you down. Not because I want to, just because, that's what I do. Ask anyone who knows me."

"You aren't perfect, Gen. And neither am I, not by a f**king long shot. But you're so damn perfect for me."

It is obvious that their feelings are real despite how their marriage started. They are truly adorable together and have good chemistry. But even as they get closer and more comfortable, they still have to fight their own insecurities, and lack of self worth. And on top of that, they have their families and the Department of Immigration to answer to.

But when the honeymoon period is over and it is down to the real life stuff, will they be able to stay together or fall apart?

Each of the books in this series have a different feel to them. This installment was more subtle and endearing. The characters in this one might not have been as damaged as Whit or Maren, or have as funny, strong personalities as Deo and Cohen, but they were sweet, vulnerable, and stubborn. Adam and Gen had enough personality to be very likable, but were not over the top dramatic or angsty. Sure they fought and had differences of opinion and communication issues, but they were young, new, and unsure.

"There's no equation that can express how much I love you, doll. No number. There are no limits"
"So beyond infinity?"
"Beyond the limits of even infinity. It would even f**k Einstein up."

I found this installment entertaining, heart warming, and delightful. I enjoy the cross over of characters within the books and getting to see more with Deo, Whit, Cohen, Maren, Deo's holistic nurturing mom and everyone's mentor Marigold, and the crazy Rodriguez family. They fight, they love hard, they support each other and they are ready to kick someone's a** if needed. I look forward to seeing who the 4th book in this series will be about. I am sure it will be one of the remaining single Rodrguez siblings Cece, Lydia, or Enzo. All have strong personalities and have potential for great stories.

Steph Campbell and Liz Reinhardt have done it again with another winner in this series. I open their books and am engaged from the first page and totally invested in the characters. Their characters are deep and compelling. Their books are full of humor, passion, tension, and swoon worthy moments. And this one was no exception.

Thanks to Steph Campell and Liz Reinhardt for providing me a copy in exchange for an honest review.

4.5 stars.. A book that gets 4 or more stars (and one that I really enjoy) from me needs to have several components. First, there must be sexual tension before any kind of romantic relationship is established. Second, it must have that exciting feeling of newness in the relationship, and the build up of something that the reader becomes connected to the characters, in which the reader feels tied to the characters being/staying together. It's got to have romantic and sexy scenes. And, finally it has to have "something" that places a wedge into the relationship that forces the characters to make imminent and important decisions in order to realize that they cannot live without the other. Limits had all of these things! And, Lengths (Lengths, #1) by Steph Campbell , Deo and Whit's story and the first in this series also had that. However, the 2nd book, Depths (Lengths, #2) by Steph Campbell Cohen and Maren's story was missing that, which made me worried immediately upon reading Limits,,, that we wouldn't feel that connection. Luckily Steph and Liz came through, and Limits was awesome!

Adam Abramowitz, who is in the US on a visa is at risk of losing his visa, his research at the college where he is working towards his PhD, and being deported back to Israel. Adam is also Genevieve Rodriguez's tutor. We met Gen in both prior Lengths books, sister to Cohen, who had an undying crush on Cohen's best friend Deo since she was a kid.

While the attraction between Genevieve and Adam is subtle at first, alternating POV's from Gen and Adam show that each are more attracted to the other than they let on.

Adam - Her outfit doesn't leave much to the imagination if that's the kind of think you go for. And I do appreciate every curve on her body: I'm not blind. But the thing that really interests me is deeper than the way she looks.

Adam is extremely supportive of Genevieve, continually telling her that she is more than she things she is - that she can be so much more.

When Genevieve learns that Adam is about to lose his visa - because his research is failing and he will likely be kicked out of his program - Genevieve does something gutsy and a little crazy - she proposes marriage to him!

Adam reluctantly agrees to Gen's proposal, but only if they make this arrangement real - Adam wants the marriage to be a real marriage and not just a sham in order to remain in the country. After getting Genevieve's parents reluctant blessing to marry (and her siblings' less than supportive agreement), Adam and Gen get married and move in together.

Genevieve - Adam. Adam. Adam. He's been right in front of my face this whole entire time. But he's always been - Adam. Just Adam. He's always been Adam. Cute Adam. Serious Adam. Adam who sees who I am and who I try to hide. He sees that all and roots for me anyway.

I loved their non-traditional/traditional wedding, using some of the traditions from the Jewish faith and some Mexican customs. The vows were beautiful and simple.

"Many waters cannot quench love, neither can floods drown it. If a man offered for love all the wealth of his house, it would be utterly scorned. I am my beloved's and my beloved is mine."

The words echo from the depths of time, but the way he says them makes them feel immediate. Like he means them now and is the first man who ever said them, ever, to any woman. Like he's letting me know that he possesses me and that I own him completely. And I want it. I want it more than I've ever wanted anything else. Ever.

Their first night together was not ideal, however their first time together was beautifully written. You could feel the want, lust and dare I say, love between the two of them. It made me feel really good about the future of their relationship.

And, their relationship, while not at all traditional, grows, as does their affection for each other, and finally their love for each other blossoms to that point of no return. Of course, those of us in relationships know that there is no such thing as a perfect relationship. And for these two, and what their relationship was built upon, it is ever more apparent.

Every good thing is worth the fight. And a really good man? He's worth a whole damn smack down. - Marigold

When things get rough - they are tested. Can a relationship that was built upon a lie actually last? Can the two see through all of the external forces that threaten to break them apart permanently, to see how much they mean to each other and how much they NEED each other? Here, the authors did a wonderful job of allowing Gen and Adam to dig deep within themselves to realize what was really important.

Gen - I'm being supported by the strength of the one man I know loves me beyond the limits of any love I've ever known before.

As always, I look forward to the next book in this series - and wonder who the characters will be.

[Author interview with Steph and Liz can be found on my blog from 15th July 2013]

I have loved this series from the moment I first read Lengths and I impatiently await each new book that these amazing authors write, wanting to see which characters will be next and what happens next. Lengths is the chance for Genevieve, Cohen's little sister, and Adam to have their say.

Genevieve is still unhappy about Deo marrying Whit, and Cohen and Maren getting engaged. Everyone has what they wanted, her brothers are happy and live alone, her sister is happy, and Genevieve is stuck at home, failing hard at school and still looking for that one person who she can fall in love with. Adam is her tutor who is trying to get her grades up and make sure she passes the class, he knows she is smart and clever, and he tries so hard to make her believe in herself. When Genevieve finds out that Adam will be sent back home the only solution she can think of is marriage, and quickly.

"Marry me, Adam." Genevieve looks at me, her hands come up to either side of my face and grip it hard. "Marry me and be my tutor."

I kinda failed at keeping notes for my review while reading this book. After the first few notes I made I could to pause to make a note, I had to keep turning pages. Adam and Genevieve don't have a traditional relationship, they go from tutor/student to husband/wife in such a short space of time, and we get a front row seat at watching them learn how to love each other, live together, and learn all about each other all while keeping up the front of a married couple that had been together years rather than days.
While I had doubts about this relationship actually working, I am happy to say I shouldn't have had any doubts at all, this couple works together amazingly well, they are one of the most perfect fictional married couples I have read about. They take the time to make things perfect for the other and spend quality time together learning about what makes the other tick. Yes they have disagreements and fights, but this makes them more real, what marriage or life with a partner goes without its squabbles?

If you find that one person who believes in you, helps you combat your doubts, lifts you up when you are ready to lay down and say 'screw it'? If you find that person, grab tight. So tight. Never let go.

I loved getting to see some familiar faces from previous books, Deo and Whit, Cohen and Maren. While Genevieve may not think a lot about Whit and Maren, they are friendly and welcoming towards her, and even give her some words of advice. They all accept Adam into their lives, although being older brothers or males in the 'family' they initially give him a hard time and make their point about how they feel if Genevieve got hurt.

I read Limits in a few hours, but I felt sad once I had finished. I loved the book, there was not one thing I would change, but by finishing it, it makes it more real that I am coming closer to the end of an amazing series, and I really don't want the end to come. Steph and Liz have consistently published amazing books together, books that have a way of not only drawing you in, but also of crawling under you skin and making you addicted to these characters and to the world they have created. I own every book in this series on my kindle but I intend to buy physical copies of each one to sit among my most treasured books on my shelves.

Let me just say- I am loving this series by Steph Campbell and Liz Reinhardt! They are fabulous authors separately, but together they’ve created this cast of lovable characters and heart wrenching, addicting stories. First a little back ground…book one is called Lengths (hence the series being called by the same name), and book 2 is Depths. Lengths is the story of Deo and Whit. Depths is the story of Cohen and Maren. Deo and Cohen are best friends. Cohen is part of a big family, the Rodriguez’s. Deo’s hippy mother is Marigold. Honestly, I love almost every character in these books. They are all so relatable and you can’t help but wish you were part of this big crazy group!!

Book 3 in the Lengths series is Limits. This book follows Genevieve Rodriguez (Cohen’s little sis) and Adam Abramowitz. We meet Gen in the other stories, but don’t care too much for her. She’s always had a crush on Deo, her brother’s best friend, and she’s kind of a brat. I even wasn’t too fond of her in the first couple pages of this book.

Genevieve tilts her head to one side, so all her long, dark hair hangs down in a curtain. “Do you try to be this boring all the time? Like, is it work, or does it just come to you organically?” “This conversation is adorable, but can we get to work?” I tap my pen on her backpack and ignore the fact that, yes, I noticed how short and tight and totally hot her outfit is.

Gen is having a hard time. Her family expects so much, but she feels like she keeps letting them down. She doesn’t want to work at her parent’s furniture store her whole life, but no is pushing her try anything else…no is really even interested in if she’s happy. (or at least that’s how it seems.) She’s about to fail one of her classes and despite that this should be the least of her worries…her tutor, Adam, doesn’t notice her. But things start to click into place when she gets a bit of advice from Marigold, Deo’s mother.

“If you find that one person who believes in you, helps you combat your doubts, lifts you up when you’re ready to lie down and say ‘screw it’? If you find that person, grab tight. So tight. Never let go.”

Gen knows who that person is.

The one person who believes in me even when I put on my best ‘I don’t care’ act? The one person who sees through my every attempt to slack off and fail? The one person who insists i’m more than I tell him I am? Adam. Adam. Adam.

Gen starts to pursue Adam and boy is he confused. Is this a date…no, it’s not a date…well, maybe it is…ok, definitely not. Poor guy! When Adam shares with Gen that his student visa is about to expire she proposes a plan. Marriage.

I LOVED LOVED LOVED this story. I loved that they were married while working out their feelings for each other. Maybe it’s silly of me but it’s like i’m not as anxious about the ending, because their together. Those books where the characters are separated or split up the whole time stress me out! But anywho…Gen becomes super lovable and probably the female character i’ve related to most. Adam is nerdy and bookish and not all sporty, plus super sexy, so bonus!! I highly recommend that you read this book!

“Every good thing is work the fight. And a really good man? He’s worth a whole damn smack down.”

Review copy received for an honest review.

I am in love with this series! I like that you don’t need to read the previous books (even though I of course have ) and it’s awesome to be reintroduced to earlier characters. It is fun to see where their stories led and how they are entwined with the new characters.

This latest book in the Lengths series introduces us more in depth to Cohen’s sister, Genevieve. She is a gorgeous girl who flaunts her stuff in flashy
clothes and high heels. Genevieve seems like the black sheep of the Rodriguez family and feels like she can’t do anything right, including passing school. Enter….sexy scientist/tutor/teacher’s assistant Adam Abramowitz who is at risk of being sent back to Israel when his Visa runs out. Adam is Gen’s tutor and he sees so much potential in her, if only he could get her to see it too.

Genevieve is not only working through school issues but personal ones as well. She has been hung up on Deo (sexy surfer boy from Lengths, her brother Cohen’s best friend…) and has a hard time dealing with the fact that he is now married. One night Gen has too much to drink and Adam finds her sulking in a closet, he takes her away from the situation.

Adam and Genevieve start to spend time together outside of school and I could see that there was a connection with them, although neither one of it would actually act on it. Each of them thought that the other wouldn’t be interested. One night as they walk on the beach Adam tells Genevieve about his Visa and without even having to think about it Gen proposes to Adam….crazy right?! I couldn’t believe it, does stuff like this actually happen?? But it seems as if Genevieive really does care for Adam, at least in some way. Adam thinks it’s crazy (at least someone agrees with me) and tells her no and takes her home. Gen goes and gets some advice from our favorite hippie Marigold.

” ‘From what you just described to me, you found a partner who’s going to crack your life wide open and give you a jump-start to get moving.’ She sits up and slaps a hand on my ass.”

Eventually the two decide to go through with this and they actually tie the knot! It was actually very sweet how it all happened but you will need to read for those details! After the wedding Adam and Genevieive still have A LOT to learn about each other, I mean they’ve known each other for a year but now it’s time to find out who they really are. We are given glimpses of both of their feelings throughout the true evolution of their relationship. Of course with any new relationship (especially a marriage!) there are plenty of good times and bad times, sweet moments and bitter fights. Will they be able to come out of this together??

“Fear drives us away. Fear will send you running from what might just save you.”

So every time I’ve read a Steph & Liz collab, I don’t think it can get better. There’s something about the writing styles of these chicks that just pulls you in, keeps you there, and always offers a great read. I like picking up one of their books because I’m certain I won’t be bored, and almost always, I know I’ll just be able to cruise through it without complication. Limits was exactly this … and I have to say, Adam gave Deo and Cohen a run for their money. I didn’t think I could like anyone more than Cohen. And I might? I’m not sure I can fully say that out loud. But the thought is there.

I’d been interested in reading Genevieve’s story because of her infatuation with Deo. I wanted to know more about that, and also what would become of it once Deo and Whit were officially together, and Gen had to realize her chances were really nada.

What I didn’t expect was to fall so hard for nerdy science boy Adam. I don’t know why I didn’t anticipate that, because I love a nerd. Always. But I just fell. So hard. Total sexy geek.

Gen & Adam together—hello chemistry! I loved the awkwardness at first with them. The slight touches, and the overall discomfort. It was believable, kinda laughable at times, and just kept me interested. And the way they actually got together made for a great storyline. It was something different, and I appreciated the turns that the story took.

Okay, and the sexual chemistry between them—yes, please.

I liked how Gen challenged Adam. And vice versa. It really represented marriage. Especially young marriage. When you’re still finding out who you are, it’s hard to share your life with someone. Their struggles were real. And while the marriage might’ve started as a farce, they both had the best intentions, and while they didn’t admit it intially, their love was real.

“If you find that one person who believes in you, helps you combat your doubts, lifts you up when you’re ready to lie down and say ‘screw it’? If you find that person, grab tight. So tight. Never let go.”

This is another must-read from these ladies. It’s a great addition to the Lengths series, and another piece of the puzzle solved! I can’t wait to read more from these families. They’re dynamic, well-developed characters, and the benefit of them being spin-offs, is you always get little glimpses from the other characters you’ve already fallen for. BONUS!

Limits by wonderful authors Steph Campbell and Liz Reinhardt, was another stunning companion to the Lengths series. I had truly enjoyed the series thus far, but Limits just really appealed to me. Theirs is the sort of writing that you know will be intelligently skilful, know will be thought provokingly deep, and know that it will have achieved that insanely tricky mixture of sweet and sexy, that only few do really well. So much so, that I couldn’t resist starting it again when I finished.

Was it the characters?
I simply adored the geeky, science-nerd sweetheart, Adam. Adored. This man was that undeniably delectable mix of nerd/strong/shy/sexy-lover man, all rolled into one. He had high intellectual aspirations of who he wanted to be in life-hopes created from preconceived notions of acceptance and love-but had yet to discern how to achieve them.

Genevieve was a gorgeously refreshing woman, trying to work out who she really was, and how to be real, breaking free of long-held expectations of her family. Ostensibly, she was a superficial flake, but on the inside, she was warm-hearted, generous, faithful and highly intelligent.

Supporting characters, especially Marigold, simply added, not detracted from the story. Campbell and Reinhardt consistently balance this input successfully. Impressive.

Was it the storyline?
Actually, a lot of the appeal of Limits, was the break away from standard contemporary romance formula. I loved the blend of these two characters, and how they genuinely forged a strong friendship, before a physical relationship, and how in some ways, how they got there, was a little back-to-front. They worked hard to bring out the best in each other, especially Adam – his insight into and selfless love of the authentic Gen, was moving.

Written in present tense, switching POV smoothly throughout, the book was an affecting and delightful read. I adored the story, the characters, the alternative plot, and of course the schemxy sizzle between the Hero and heroine. I think this was my favorite of the series thus far, but then, I had loved Cohen and Maren's story too. I look forward to the next instalment, Ties.

This was a New Adult book that mostly stands out because it breaks away from the more common mass produced story that seems to be out there with this genre. (You know the one- tortured main characters running from dark pasts finding peace in each other. One a bad boy, one a mostly innocent) In this book the hero is a very smart guy from Israel working on (I think) his phd. He tutors a girl who at first glance appears to be only surface deep. When he is in danger of loosing his work due to a lapsed visa the two decide to marry so he can remain in the country.

I am glad that there are authors who are writing different stories for NA because quite frankly I am seriously burnt out on that mass produced story I spoke of. But while it is different than most of NA be aware that it follows the trope of the marriage of convenience resulting in falling in love. You see this in the adult romance genre so it still follows a pattern. If that trope bothers you then keep that in mind. I have not read many of these and this on was done better than the ones I have read so it didn't bother me.

I do have to admit that I wasn't quite as connected to the heroine and I think it is because this is the first I have picked up of the series. I have not read any before this and I think I might have connected better if I had read those since apparently she was in them. It also might have been that somehow I just didn't feel the way the characters were fleshed out at times. Some aspects of their personality were explored more thoroughly and other things were left more to uses of stock character traits.

All in all, it was a decent read. It was on sale, always good for my budget. I didn't always get the characters or the relationship but there were still some nice moments. I think some people will connect better with the story and characters than others and I don't know how to predict if you will be in which camp.

I am undecided about continuing on with this series. I'm not sure I'd like the first one as the featured characters didn't bowl me over in this one. The second ones sounds like it might be a little more to my taste.

This. Novel. Was. Amazing.

I loved it so much. I can't describe it in words how much this novel captivated me... The blurb sucked me in entirely and boy did the novel deliver! It gave it it's all and the characters, the plot, the knowledge and experiences within the novel were all so real to me I couldn't stop reading. I absolutely loved the synopsis and storyline to this and felt it was so first hand base and original it was almost shocking. It's set within a contemporary setting, but has that element of true romance to it. Adam was such an amazing hero, I think he deserves a gold star. There's was enough back story to him that made him human enough, but not too much which would make you so bored out of your eyes. I loved how this novel changed from one perspective to another, because I loved reading from both of the heroes and heroines head, and it was kept refreshing within the series of events,

The heroine was extremely likable, and THANK GOODNESS SHE WASNT LIKE ALL THOSE OTHER HEROINES WITHIN NEW ADULT. Throughout the novel, Gen matured into such an amazing woman that was incredibly strong but still was able to hold onto that light optimistic attitude she had of life within the beginning of the novel. These two really complimented each other, and were really the perfect fit of yin and yang for each other. I absolutely adored Colin actually, he was probably a really likable friend that I happened to ever only like, and also the other side characters the protagonists came to, to get help with. The events and complications within the novel was not cliche and made me anticipate the ending even more and the ending delivered perfectly, as it was not rushed nor was it cut into a random abrupt cliff hanger.

This novel is an amazing stand alone and if you want to delve into reality, the first stages of relationships, really hot chemistry and a deep understanding of cultures and world, this novel is definitely for you. The blurb of this novel attracted me and made me super excited to read it and if this was the exact same for you, definitely pick it up and give it a try! You won't be dissapointed :D

Okay, so I got this as part of a summer solstice sale the authors we're having, and at 0.99 cents, this was definitely a steal!

This is the third installment in the Length series (though I haven't read the previous two) and it seems like a standalone since It was pretty easy to understand without much reference to the previous books. The general gist is that Adam Abramowitz is a grad student working on his thesis. That said, he has limited time on his student visa and is about to be deported. Enter Genevieve Rodriguez, whom Adam is tutoring. Though she might seem flimsy or careless, Genevieve is dealing with a lot of emotional toil and is a little lost a the beginning of the book. She proposes to Adam to try and solve his problem, but what starts out as a sham can quickly become the truth.

I loved this story as honestly the perfect beach (which is where I'm at right now) or summer read. The story had great pacing, and though many problems arose, there wasn't the usual angst that you see acompany this genre (which was a nice change). My favorite part of course was the characters. Though Adam seems like a geek, he has just enough Alpha in him to make me swoon and be nicely suprised at the same time. He honestly has feelings for Gen at the beginning, and though everything has to be put on fastfoward, he always shows how deep his feelings are for her in every action he takes. Genevieve was also a fun character, though she could get annoying at times. She's kind of stuck at a place in her life, her gaze set on a door that's closed without mananging to see all the open windows around her. Even so, she quickly develops feeling for Adam, and though they both muddle their way through a couple of things, the end result was beutiful and left me with an extremely satisfied feeling. Now I'm more than interested to read Whit and Deo's story!

I avoid first-person present-tense narratives as a rule, and I have yet to warm up to the NA genre. But this book blew me out of the water, and I'm so glad I broke my own rules and read it. Both main characters have compelling, relatable voices, and not once did I get bored of being in their perspectives. The chemistry is hot hot hotttt well before they get to sex. And I think it's kind of adorable that - it's not an ideological thing so much as a timing thing, so I didn't get any 'grossly old school' vibes from it. I LOVED the characters' backgrounds - I'm not Jewish but anything that foregrounds diversity appeals to me. I was really happy to be invited into the world of Gen's warm Mexijew family, and I also really liked the glimpses of Adam's life in Israel. This book has a beautiful definition of love at its centre, repeating at key moments that the right person for you is the one who believes in you and pushes you to be more than you think you can be. Overall the tone is pretty light, but the emotion is there if you want to enter into it. The only problem with the story is that the characters don't have much in the way of problems - and yet the conflict that arises very late in the story feels so real. Not storybook pretty or exciting, and yet very much worth writing about. So thank you Steph Campbell and Liz Reinhardt for this fun, passionate, and satisfying read!!

The way these two authors are able to create a story together is simply wonderful. Each time they write a heartfelt story, that will make you think, with realistic characters while still keeping it sweet.

I think I might have a soft spot for Adam. He is just so geeky and sweet, while also being sexy and strong. Adam knows what he wants in life and isn't afraid to go after it. It might not always be easy and he might not always make the right choices, but he's no quitter. Also I love it how Adam pushes Gen to be the best version of herself, the believe he has in her.

Genevieve is exactly as I remember her. She is smarter than she pretends to be, sexy and has the biggest heart of them all. When Deo got married, she was faced with the reality that her dream crush will never happen. And with all the other happy couples around her, Gen finds herself on a crossroad, needing to decide which direction she wants to take her life.

The plot was definitely original and not your standard romance. These two characters are almost total opposites, though they work so well together. First there is this friendship between Gen and Adam, before it turns into something more physical. They actually did the whole marriage thing kind of in reverse.

Overall the writing was once again superb. Limits was an enjoyable and delightful story. The way these characters are written, it feels almost like if you reach out you can touch them. They are amazing and I adored Gen and Adam. The romance and emotion here were also very well formulated and believable.
