I’m stuck in its treacherous web, danger my constant companion.
Running from the hands of one gang, I’ve stumbled straight into the arms of another. Now I'm right in the middle of biker a realm cloaked in crime and corruption, illicit thrills, and club conflicts. A world where loyalty is tested, and alliances shift like shadows. And in the background the embers of a patch war threaten to ignite.
I should run far, far away. But this time I don’t want to. I can’t. Because of him.
Demon
He's Hell on Earth - a man consumed by a darkness beyond my wildest nightmares, a man even more scarred than me.
Tall, brooding and obsessive, he has the temper of an unstable volcano. He is everything that I should be running from.
But the running stops here. It's time to face my demons. The only question? Am I prepared to follow him into hell, into the fiery depths of his desires and sell my soul to him in the bedroom?
This is a gritty book with dark elements, scenes of violence and references to organised crime and descriptive steamy bedroom scenes intended for a mature audience.
Nik Terry loves to write thrilling stories of strong, stubborn heroines and dark and dangerous men, her love of a ‘bad boy’ fuelled by Spike rather than Angel (until Angel lost his soul of course).
Having grown-up in the north east of England she is mum to two feisty girls, wife to a hugely supportive husband without whom, her childhood writing dreams would never have come to life, and is a slave to two cats and three ponies.
After pony club with the kids and dressage and between reading and writing, Nik loves to snuggle up with her husband, prosecco and a good movie; translate good to mean 80s/90s action movies or anything involving Marvel Comic’s Thor.
Story: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Trope: heroine in peril Angst: 😱😱 Smexy: 🔥🔥🔥
Ciara is a girl hanging on by a thread. Working her butt off and barely getting by, all while trying to put herself through school while simultaneously keeping her head down from the crapstorm that’s her past. The last thing she needs is a biker with a hot head and short fuse. She should be wary. She should be staying away. But Demon is showing up at her work, inserting himself in her life, and shows no sign of backing away. Demon is absolutely fascinated by the spitfire that nearly took him out with her car. But all he knows is that she calms the beast inside him like no one else can. Ciara isn’t one for belonging to anyone, but Demon isn’t exactly a quitter and now that he’s found her, he’s not letting go.
Absolutely loved it! Demon started with a bang up of a meet cute and just didn’t stop, lol. Well written with tons of action and a couple of twists to keep it interesting. I really liked Ciara. Life has made her a pessimist and pretty salty, lol, but she’s trying as hard as she can and deserves some happy. She definitely is a take no poo kind of girl which was perfect for Demon. Loved Demon as well, but I’m definitely a fan of the more asshole-y heroes 🤷🏻♀️. He was over the top possessive and obsessive of her right from the start and I was totally here for it. The chemistry between them was 🔥🔥🔥 and the smexy times, super hot! My only criticism is that I felt the ending was a bit abrupt, but there was just so many things I loved. This is my first book by Nik Terry and looking forward to more. Can’t wait for Indie’s story. If you’re a fan of he falls first, hot smexy, and a well written, darker storyline, Demon will definitely be for you too!
This is the first book in a new series and what an intriguing journey this story is. This is a well written story which is an action packed, emotional roller coaster, with danger, suspense, humour, witty banter, intrigue, challenges, romance, family, friendships, loyalty, and love which all leads to an entertaining, unpredictable, twisted, haunting, and steamy addictive page turner. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.
Demon: The Northern Kings MC Book 1 by Nik Terry I was given a copy of the book by the author for an honest review. I was looking for an MC series since they are my jam. When I saw the author offering a review copy, I jumped. Again, I love a good MC and it was the start of a new series so heck yeah!! I opened the book and loved getting a glossary for words since this story takes place in the UK with characters from Ireland. Maybe I am weird, but I loved this. Any who, I opened the book and jumped right on in. Ciara and Demon are starting things off right away with confrontation and a smooch. LOL I mean that is a great start in my book…broody male and an angry female. There was action and of course mega alpha tendencies from Demon. Ciara was a bit wishy washy…I am not your Ol Lady and acted like she didn’t know club life but she did??? The story was an easy read. I didn’t find it hard to follow. It was full of dialogue and kept the story moving but it just felt a little flat for me. It’s not that I didn’t like the story, but I felt it was missing something…some burn or chemistry…yeah I am not sure. It was just a book/story I read. The side characters weren’t noteworthy, and I wasn’t like HEY what is their back story? I can’t wait for their HEA kinda thing. The story was told well but I didn’t really stop to think about the characters or the story. I wasn’t wondering about the who, what, and why of the story. I just read it. I am not sure I will jump into book 2 when it I released.
I'm not as prone to 5 star reviews these days, but I'm feeling very geerous. Maybe it is the gorgeous man in the cover, or maybe it is that I am about an year overdue on this review. But I have been waiting for Demon. He was a side characer in the first Nik Terry book I ever read, and has been living in my head rent free for years now so... pardon my excitment. Demon is a hot head. On the surface anyway. He is a Harley biker from a Newcastle MC. He charges first and asks questions later, if at all. Ciara has a dark oast and a bleak present. They practically literally collide and the connection is instant. The physical one anyway. And the chemistry is undeniably hot. Not so funnily enough, their dark pasts are already entwined, even before they met. It was a fun ride. Full of hot scenes and colorful characters. Very steamy, often funny, often geartbreaking. If I had to point anything negative out is that while her past was partially explained more than explored, and we saw a lot of development in Demon and the other men, I don't think Ciara evolved a lot in this book. And we never actually got Demon's given name. That irks me too. The climax was good and a story building. It was refreashingly short and simple. I guess the overwhleming violence will be yet to come. Starting with Indie, which I also hope to get to this year
Not a bad book I wish there was a lot more connection with the fmc with the other characters like the bikers the other old lady’s and even the dog. I was surprised to see there was not much drama with other women which is mostly common in mc books. However there was women that had a problem she was ste’s old lady but I think that got forgotten about cause nothing happened. The fmc started to get really annoying always getting the tile old lady wrong like how do you get that wrong and was continuing to be stubborn. Although understandable it was frustrating! I liked demon he was lovely and was misjudged I wanted him in a way tho to fight back verbally a lot more about some issues that I feel like wasn’t addressed. Overall, it was a good book just needs tweaking.
This was my first Nik Terry book, I really enjoyed her way with words. I love reading MC romance books and most of them are set in the US but Demon is set in England in the North East, a part of the country I lived in for over 30 years. I enjoyed the Brit English terminology! Demon is a very complicated man, I'm not sure I liked him very much, but he was different with Ciara and that saved him for me. Its a tough and gritty read and I look forward to next in series, Indie. I was gifted this book by Nik Terry. Thank you ❤️
Demon is my first read by this author and what a start! Demon, a member of the Northern Kings MC and Ciara get off to a bumpy beginning. Demon in the beginning, I wanted to unalive him realllyyy bad. He's a major jerk but he kinda grew on me. Then there's Ciara. She's one tough cookie and I love that she gives as good as she gets. She's fierce as heck and takes nothing from Demon. Their story is intense, emotional at times and completely consumes it's reader.
I enjoyed the how the author used her words to draw the reader into the story especially as I am not familiar with UK geography. I wasn't drawn to the characters like I thought I would be based on the book description. I just wished there had been more character development to balance out the smexy scenes (that's me!). It did have the HEA ending I needed because I was getting concerned that this was a cliffhanger!
I must admit it’s great to reads Uk based mc book getting the wording right too is a bonus. I’m Uk based so loved it. Demon is a truly unsettled guy with much playing on his mind. Ciara well she has truly been put through the stronger. But she faces each challenge head on.
3.75 stars. Interesting read. I always appreciate a MC romance set in another country. This one was a good start to the series. I liked Demon more than Ciara. She made too many poor decisions when it came to her own safety and eventually Demon’s.
dnf @79% tbh i can’t remember specifically why i stopped reading this, other than the fact i wasn’t feeling the main characters or the MC. i wasn’t getting the brotherhood/found family vibe from the MC which is why i like reading MC books.
I loved that it was set in Newcastle-upon-Tyne and surrounding areas! My home town and my pride and Joy. Demon has such a lovely protective relationship with the MMC. The twists and turns were fantastic and so realistic as well. Can't wait to read the next installment.
I really enjoyed this book, written from the perspective of an MC member. Demon is well named as he has anger issues but Ciara is the only one who can calm him down. This is a well-written page-turner and I look forward to reading more in this series.
I enjoyed it, bit strong on the insta love/lust, I felt like the fmc's life outside of the mmc just stopped existing half way through. Also I don't think we or the fmc ever learn his real name?
All in all it was a good read and I'm looking forward to the other characters books
This is the first time I have read a book by this author, and it won’t be the last. Demon is book 1 in the Northern Kings MC series. There are some trigger warnings listed so please check these first however, I didn't find the material too dark. There was so much packed into Demon and Ciara’s story as we follow these two fierce characters find their HEA. I enjoyed the story and the starting point of this series…..I can’t wait to see where it goes. I adored Kinobi and found the banter between the MC characters entertaining and now I want to get to know the rest of the Northern Kings. I will be reading the next book when it’s available.
