Lovely illustrations and there are sections for different habitats, which helps greatly in the field.

I used to be fascinated by this book as a child, particularly by the key to the varying degrees of deadly when it came to rate each mushroom, and the wonderful misleading names.
for example, you can happily eat the nitrous mycena, and the slimy spike-cap and even the amethyst deceiver, also the ugly milk cap , yellow swamp russula and slimy beech caps,
but the pear-scented inocybe and and the pink meadow cap will poison you, and the fairy cake hebeloma is also known as poison pie!
