About the author

My work has appeared in periodicals such as The Jamaica Observer, Rap Pages (Los Angeles), Ebony magazine (Chicago) and many others. Since 2002, I've written an autobiography, two novellas set in Jamaica, a book of poetry, and I’m currently working on my debut novel.

In addition to writing, I have a great passion for film. Over the past 14-years I’ve continued to hone my skills as a documentarian and fiction filmmaker. I've written and directed five feature-length docs and over a dozen shorts.

Convo: Interview Anthology (Book 1) collects Jamaican author David Dacosta's select author interviews.
Reviewing Convo from a teacher's perspective, I rate it highly as an introduction of modern ( mostly Caribbean) authors. Dacosta's questions are the ones we want to have answers to but aren't usually asked. He pays attention to controversial current events and edgy geographical and personal politics.
