Abby Lowe considered herself to be one of the biggest nerds in the junior class, if not the entire school. She didn't have much of a social life but dreamed of being noticed by the most popular senior, who just happened to be her best friend's older brother. Connor is constantly around Abby but he just sees her like a little sister. When Abby starts dating one of Connor's best friends things begin to change. Could Abby actually get her dream of being with Connor or will she always be seen as the little sister's best friend?
It's nothing special but it's not bad either. It's good for a quick light read. The "geek" girl main character, Abby, only appears to be a geek because she is smart, clumsy and doesn't have a lot of dating experience. She is the stereotypical hidden gem. She has had a crush on her best friend's older brother since first meeting him 6 years previously. He is a popular jock who dates a different bimbo every week until he wakes up and realizes what's in front of him (though it appears to be a slow discovery) when his best friend starts to show an interest. There are a whole lot of ups and downs and misunderstandings. Everything one either loves or hates about YA romance. In any case, it was nothing new and it won't make the reread pile but it held my interest.
UPDATE: Originally read in 2013. Reread in 2016 before reading the sequel.
...So I guess I was wrong about it not making the reread pile.

This was a great book of love developing over time. A story of a best friend falling in love with her best friend's brother. At first the brother doesn't notice her, but once someone else takes interest, so does he. As the book goes on the brother tries to reveal his feelings, but is always interrupted by his sister. Finally the last chapter, well more like last two pages they reveal their feelings for each other. I found the ending super rushed, I would have liked to see them go on a date or flash forward a month or two. But overall the book told a cute love story.

2.5 This was a very quick and cute read but not a book that stays with you longer than one day. Abby is a super nerd she likes math and has a high GPA. her best friend Leah is just like her two BNFF best nerd friends forever. Leah has a brother Corner he is 2 years older than Abby whom has been crushing on him for some time now. Lately Conner is been giving Abby some mixed signal so maybe after all she does stand a chance. I liked their jokes and the love building was o.k.
I absolutely adored this quick book because I love when a hero messes up and has to grovel for forgiveness.
Abby always had a crush on her bestie's older brother, Connor, but one day she hears what he really thinks of her and it shatters her young heart. Unfortunately for Connor, he realizes too late that maybe Abby isn't just his sister's nerdy best friend after all.
This book really dialed up the cheesiness factor, which was a little hard to take. Also, there seemed to be unnecessary subplots that were ill-fitting and never resolved (Abby's relationship with her parents, for example).
Sometimes I get on a kick with high school romances and some of the quick reads out there. This was very predictable but fun, clean and feel good all the same. Just a sweet story. I don't think the teenager will ever leave me.
This is a nice simple reading. Is kind of cute. I like both characters and the story. I hoped for an epilogue just because they only got together on the last few pages and I wish to see how good they did together;)
This was a cute read. It was simple and short but I love short little love stories like this. The miscommunication between the two were upsetting but the underlying feelings were adorable. I am glad that the author did not drag out the troubles too much. This was a nice short read.
Its such a great chick flick to read if you want to read a story about high school love. There were so many funny parts that I laughed out loud. But my at most favorite part was at the end when he asked to changed her nickname from klutz to girlfriend
This story had a lot of potential, but the wording, the awkwardness of the characters, and the writing errors were distracting. At times I felt there was a little over-explaining, and other times it felt rushed. It was a cute story, but probably needed more effort put into it.
it was ok but i skipped alot it was just bleh no real connection or anything it just all seemed to drag together it had a good storyline just not writen to its full potentional
Lovely story, it flows well its not rushed.I really enjoyed it. its got a nice ending to, though I'd liked an epilogue to see we're things went for the couple.
It was a cute book, very light and very fast read. Every once in a while I have a craving for make-me-sick cliches that don't really have spines to them, and this definitely did the trick.
What I didnt like about this romance is the lack of chemistry between Connor and Abby. There should be a build up for romance to work - an awareness between the couples. Where this goes wrong is, Connor acts completely unaware for a major chunk of the story and then suddenly turns around when Abby ignores him after he hurts her badly. And what he says about her to his date, Samantha is kinda unforgivable - especially if he claims to have feelings for her even then. The only way this would have made sense is if Samantha bringing that up made him aware of Abby.
But nah. Its almost like Connor's feelings for Abby run pretty shallow.
