Things a tale of two complete opposites that end up married. Bridget is a young woman from a wealthy family in Ohio. Her parents are recently deceased. Her brother and his wife have made several terrible financial decisions and lost most of the money his family gave him. Upon his CB parent’s death he realizes his sister is the beneficiary of his parent will. Bridget is not a very attractive young woman and she is a bookish homebody and now a very wealthy one. She answers one of the Cowboy Creek bride advertisements and accepts. Dominic chooses her for his fiancé. You will enjoy discovering how they overcome the obstacles that come between them as they find their happily ever after.
Bridget's parents left their estate to her when they passed away. Her brother is not happy because he is the oldest and also the son. He feels that he should have received the inheritance. When he starts demanding that she let him manage the estate, she knows that he will just gamble the money away. She decides to become a mail order bride to Cowboy Crossing. When she arrives in the small town, she loves the feeling of community, but it is totally different from the life of wealth that she is used to. As she gets to know Dominic, she knows that she loves him, but they are so different. He grew up barely having enough to eat and she grew up priviledged. I love this series!
I have read 4 books of the series so far. I must say everyone has been a page-turner. I read this one in 2 days. The books are very interesting without a lot of the typical bride situations. While there is a necessary friction in the story line the book to me was a happy read. I just love these types of books. I would highly recommend this book and the entire series. I intend to eventually read every one.
Bridget inherited much after her parents died. Her brother and wife wanted to take it all away.
Bridget's brother gambled and made bad business deals. She knew she needed to be a shrewd manager of her parents' earnings.
She left Cincinnati to pursue a new life. Dominic would be her husband. It was hard for Bridget to learn all that was very different from her former life.
Bridget goes through a rough time with her brother and his wife. Especially after the death of their parents. She moves on…..finding her soul mate in Cowboy Creek. A nice mail order bride story. Learning to adjust from city life and the comfortable life style she had to the rugged life of a small rugged country home. Great story!
Imagine going out into the unknown world wondering what you will face. That is what Bridget did as she ventured afar to meet a man whose lifestyle is virtually totally different from hers. The author's lovely writing style precisely portrayed the happy resolution of this venture.
Thoroughly enjoyed this book about a couple who seem to have nothing in common, but fall in love anyway. Despite very different backgrounds they work it out and find happiness
This was a cute short clean mail order bride read. Most mail order brides went west to better their situation. In this read, bride to be has legit funds, which become a problem, due to the time period.
I love the book I enjoy learning how they did things in the past I love knowing that I can listen to it and one of my children can walk in the room and I'm not worried about the book saying sex or cussing it's a very sweet book and I enjoyed it
My husband and I started reading this series together a few weeks ago. We've been enjoying this series a lot. There are a lot of typos, so the series would benefit from another look from a copy editor. They can be a bit distracting, but we are enjoying them regardless.
Bridget became a mail order bride to get away from her scheming brother and sister in law She fell in love with her husband and all the things she could not part with and found love and happiness
I loved the lesson on communication and the work involved in a marriage. The give and take between these two was extraordinary with such differences in upbring.
