It’s been three months since Nadine last heard from Victor, Micah or Ceris, allowing her to concentrate on her own life. But until Victor and Micah find the scepters that will restore them as true gods, their human bodies will require her healing touch and it’s only a matter of time until they wreak havoc on her life again.

As if to prove that, Victor shows up at the hospital dragging along with him a swarm of demons. Nadine is forced to flee to safety. Despite her attempts to keep her loved ones protected, the demons find her, and they bring her to Imha, the goddess of Chaos.

Now, confronted by her greatest fear, Nadine finds a new motivation. Vengeance. And when seeking revenge, no risk is too great, including her own life.

"…As much as I tried fighting it, I couldn't help but feel something for him. Irritation? Curiosity? I didn't know. When he looked at me like that, all I wanted was to… do what? Slap him. Kiss him. Maybe both. Then kiss him some more, until the air around us went up fifty degrees." -Nadine

"A new day, the same dark world." -Nadine

I have to start by saying that I am such a huge fan, I cannot get enough of this series!!! After reading Destiny Gift, this series easily became one of my favorites. I fell in love with these characters & couldn't wait to get my hands on the next book to read even more about them. And the wait was so worth it; this sequel did not disappoint! While reading Soul Oath, I went through so many different emotions. There were moments where I cried, and I mean UGLY cried, and then there were moments that made me want to punch some of the characters in the face. With so many things happening and several new discoveries being made, it was hard not to react alongside characters. In Soul Oath, we get the chance to know a little bit more about the characters and are also introduced to a new one; who I think is a great addition to the group. With a great dose of betrayal, romance, mystery, action and suspense, readers will be kept at the edge of their seat.

"Everything I had was gone. Everything. Every piece of clothing, every book, every picture, every document, every person I loved and lived for." -Nadine

If I had to define her in one word it would be: FIERCE. I absolutely love her. She's definitely one of my all time favorite heroines ever. Her loyalty, strength, perseverance, selflessness, and heart, make it hard not to like her. Every time something new is thrown her way or something tragic happens, she's always able to pick herself back up. And I admire her for that. From tragedy to betrayal, Nadine goes through some pretty grueling trials in this book. Several that she didn't see coming and were out of her control. One of those experiences affects her so much it leaves her emotionally and physically battered. As she struggles to get passed it, her motivation for ending the war changes. Saving the world is still priority but her new motivation is revenge. Throughout the book, Nadine always felt real to me and I felt so emotionally connected to her. When she cried, I cried, when she screamed in rage, I wanted to too, and when she was left breathless, so was I. Nadine definitely did a lot of growing and learning. In her own way, she became a warrior. Sword fighting and throwing punches. She was able to work on some of her relationships and is slowly but surely dealing with the betrayal she experienced in the first book. Above all I think she learns that through tragedy comes great strength and courage, and with a little love we can get through it. Nadine was thrown into this war without a choice but how she gets out, will be hers.

"I realized that Victor and I might not have been in love as I first thought, but I could never wish anything bad for him, as a god or human. In fact, I wished him the best. I wished he would find his scepter, restore his powers, defeat Imha, and forgive Ceris." -Nadine

Victor takes charge and becomes the leader of the group. Throughout the book, I sorta felt bad for him. Not only does he have a huge weight on his shoulders as he is responsible for the group but he's still dealing with Ceris' betrayal. I feel like he still hasn't completely dealt with it yet nor his feelings for Nadine. I wonder if he still has any lingering feelings for her or if he's moved on. Since every time he tried to have a conversation about it with Nadine she would always abruptly ended it, we don't really get to find out if he does or not. Its evident that he cares about her though, he cares about everyone. What I love most about Victor is how selfless and noble he is. Every decision, every move, is done for the benefit of others. Everyone comes first and he's always second. Without second thought, he'd die for anyone in his team. He's that kind of guy. The one you can always count on and who's loyalty and reasoning you never have to doubt. As a bonus, he's also so damn handsome. A definite keeper. Even though I'm sure its pretty evident who I go for here, I still hope Victor gets his own happy ending when the war is over. Without a doubt, he deserves one.

"You're going to ignore me," Micah said sounding closer. On purpose, I turned around, swinging my sword at chest level. He jumped back. "Whoa there darling. Don't damage the goods you love so much." I rolled my eyes. "Can you be a little less cocky?" His smug grin spread over his lip. "Why would I? It's not like I'm lying." Seriously? -Micah & Nadine

Micah, I LOOOVE this guy. He is one of my top book boyfriends. I just can't get enough of him. He is all kinds of awesome. I enjoyed getting to know him so much more in this book. We get to see different sides of him. From who he was and what he's done to the man he is now. I loved seeing how regretful he is of the things he did in the past and how he's trying to redeem himself now. Through his actions and words, its easy to see how much of a changed man he's become. His love for Nadine and his loyalty to her was also clear as day. For a bad boy, he's such a romantic. I have no idea how Nadine can contain herself. If it was me, by now we'd probably have a couple of kids lol. Just kidding. Maybe. Anyways, my favorite scenes were of course the ones with him and Nadine. Their banter was awesome and we get to see a little bit of this:

Yea that's right we get to see the man in action. Only a little bit but hey, you won't see me complaining. I'll take anything I can get; a dose of him is never too little or too much. I enjoyed learning and figuring out who Micah really is and what he's all about. He gets quite a few figurative slaps in the face in this book so I hope things get better for him. Despite his bad boy exterior, he's really just a big teddy bear. This bad boy is on a race to redemption and the finish line is just a few steps away.

"I had to hang on to one good thing. And my family was the best thing. Followed closely by Micah, who, among all this mess, was stealing my heart. I glanced at him. He already had stolen my heart with his rough face, his bad boy act, his caring side, his sweet touches, his hot kisses, and everything in between. My heart was his…even if he wanted to accept it, there was no future for us." -Nadine

Overall, Soul Oath was freaking amazing from beginning to end and a great addition to this series. With its characters, story lines, imagery and writing, this series is one that's hard not to love. It only keeps getting better and better and more captivating with each book. I'm kinda sad that its only a trilogy :-( I know its going to be very bittersweet having to say goodbye to these characters in The Everlasting Circle. But until then, I NEED to get my hands on Cup of Life; Micah's novella. Eeeepp, I want!! I'm so glad we get a bit more of Micah before The Everlasting Circle because I don't think I'd be able to wait that long for more Micah lol. Though I don't want it to end, I can't wait to see what how everything plays out. I know that it's going to be epic!

Other Favorite Quotes:

"The saying to sacrifice one life, or five, to save millions was true, but I didn't really care about it when it came to my family. But I should care. How could I think of keeping my family alive when there wouldn't be a world to live in." -Nadine

"I raised my hand to knock again and the door opened. Micah stood beside the half-open door, his hair unruly, his dark eyes curious, and his chest naked. My throat felt dry and my heart skipped a beat." -Nadine

"I wanted to feel needed. I wanted to be kissed. I wanted to be loved, even if for a moment. I was alone in this world, and I missed being someone to someone. I missed having people who actually cared for me, not just greedy deities who only wanted me around because of my healing touch." -Nadine

"…His vanilla and sandalwood scent washed my senses. In the past, I had felt lust whenever I had taken him in, but this time, it brought me security and comfort." -Nadine

"My hand ended up closing over his because he didn't let go of it. Attracted by a force stronger than me, my eyes met his. The air in my lungs whooshed out. I could jump into those endless black pools and live there, lost forever." -Nadine

This is one of those series that aggravate the crap out of me yet I still can't seem to stop reading.
I'm so tired of Nadine and her annoying internal ramblings, of Micah and his hot-and-cold behavior, of the repetitiveness of the writing and the countless drawn-out fighting scenes.

But I'm freaking hooked and I can't wait to start the next installment. What is wrong with me?

Here's a random character peeve of mine sometimes: the characters that cry a lot. Particularly the main character. Simply because reading the main character wanting to cry 24/7 is really annoying.

Which [sort of] seems to happen a lot for a good 48% of Soul Oath (I checked), in which the events here take place 3 months after Destiny Gift. I would probably DNF it if there was nothing interesting going on, which I wasn't exactly thinking of doing anyways. I think that says something about good distraction. Or maybe it was because I was reading Ashes and that was pretty creepy and Soul Oath in comparison is thankfully not creepy (Hello? Cannibalism vs. Demons. Take your pick. :p).

It's a wonder why I tend to avoid Realistic Fiction – and maybe Contemporary – novels.

But on the bright side of everything and all things in between, the depression and crying – must be why I avoid realistic fiction as though it's poisonous – makes things pretty realistic after everything that happens from early on in the book.

And there's butt kicking. I think that's a [huge] bonus (always is, always will, but there are no brownie points :3)

(There. I found a way to convey something without having to say "well I can't say such and such because it'll spoil a part in the book and I don't usually like spoiling books since not everyone likes spoilers...")

So the other characters in Soul Oath, pushing away from Nadine's depression. Victor just seems ever so serious all the time now. T_T (I really do think he and Micah swapped brains now, but does a partial brain even count? Sorry for the graphic image) I kept reading Chael as chair but with a funny accent that I can't exactly place, so I basically read "...Chair..." all the time. Omi and Imha seem a bit too unrealistically evil (though I don't usually mind that, and Imha is the goddess of chaos after all. You'd have to be pretty evil to be chaotic). Morgan threw me for a loop, so all I have are some hula hoops. :p

Finally, Micah. I placed him last because I have some words to say about him that's not just a sentence. The darlings feel weird. Maybe it's just me, and maybe it's just Micah. Me as in me as a person outside of blogotopia not usually living under a rock (actually I DO live under one when it comes to news other than books, in which my friend Lupe joins me), and Micah as in well... Micah. He's cute and caring but arrogant and cocky. Unfortunately those 4 characteristics put together on a plate is apparently an almost perfect character. e_e But it's funny that someone – whether or not it's Nadine – has the perfect timing (in my humble opinion) to interrupt him all the time.

It actually did makes the cockiness cute. (Am I weird or what?). I think I'm growing on him. FIGURATIVELY. Literally is just... weird. O_o

Random Thought: Screw teams. Neutral FTW. :D (leaning one way or another doesn't count).

“A new day, the same dark world.”–Nadine’s thoughts

With Ceris, Victor, and Micah MIA for the past three months, Nadine can finally go back to her normal life and be a regular vision-free college student helping to support her family back home. When demons return and are out to get her, Nadine has to face facts that her life will never go back to normal. But then again, with the world ruled by chaos, she may not even have a life to go back to…

“How many more would die before this mess was over?”–Nadine’s thoughts

Phew! What an intense book! There’s plenty of action and battle scenes as bad guys are out to capture Nadine so that she could lead them to the trio that she would oh-so rather not see again. When the unthinkable happens, Nadine realizes she has to turn said trio as she becomes a different person–hard, determined, and utterly focused on revenge. The love triangle is pretty much solved although not less complicated. As the gang focuses on finding the scepters to restore Levi’s and Mitrus’s god powers, they face brutal betrayals and find welcome allies.

I loved that I didn’t know what to expect as the story unfolded in this book (although one of the betrayals was obvious thanks to the author’s foreshadowing, which made the book even more tense since I suspected it was going to happen) since the author didn’t pull any punches! Whole cities were destroyed, characters killed off, characters tortured, and more. When I say ‘intense,’ I mean intense! We learn more about the mythology in this world, and the fantasy elements are flushed out and wonderful to read. On the downside, with the action scenes taking up so much of the book, I would have liked more characterization. I still don’t feel like I know Nadine as much as I should at this point, and I don’t know much about the other characters except superficial back stories. I wish I knew more about Micah, but since it turns out that he’s getting his own novella to take place between books two and three, I’m hoping his character will be more fleshed out.

While reading, I still felt bad for Nadine and what she’s going through. She didn’t ask to be part of the messed up civil war between the gods, and she definitely suffers both emotionally and physically throughout the book. While I sympathized with her, I wasn’t a fan of her decisions and the fact that it seemed like she had a death wish. I wished she hadn’t been willing to give up when she knew that the world’s survival depended on her, too. Then again, as I said before, she went through A LOT. On the romance side (low heat level), I didn’t see why Micah cared for her so much considering her attitude and the fact that she was constantly rebuffing him. He’s wishy-washy with his feelings, and there’s something that he needs to tell her that keeps getting interrupted so we don’t know either (ugh! I hate when that happens, but I’m guessing that will be revealed in book 3).

Just like in book 1, I felt very satisfied with the ending even though it’s technically a cliffhanger where we don’t know what’s in store for Nadine, considering the deal she made when at her lowest low. I love that the author is able to give such satisfying endings that make you excited for the next book rather than leaving a shocking cliffhanger. Overall, I enjoyed this book a little bit more than the first book and recommend it if you enjoyed the first book! Although you could technically start with this book instead of book one, I would strongly recommend reading the first book in this trilogy. This is a 4 out of 5 for me!

Thankfully I got this only a few days after reading Destiny Gift & I started it straight away. Earlier I said that Destiny Gift had started a little slow, I also said I felt there were some slightly confusing parts to the story line. DON’T fear in this one.

The story picks up 3 months after Nadine last saw Micah, Ceris and Victor. She is back in New York, back to her job and school yet the action picks up right from the get go. Holy demonic bats, they were raining from the sky. The school is attacked, Nadine & Raisa find themselves on the run to try and get out of the city.

They are coupled with a cop and Keisha, a girl who looks after an ancient weapons exhibit. The fight to get out of the city is intense and fraught with danger, yet somehow Keisha turns into a ninja badass, kung fu kicking chick.

Micah appears and does all he can to get them out of there. Omni is on their trail.

Once free of the city Raisa, Keisha and Nadine go their separate ways and Nadine goes home to her family. Hurt and confused by the actions of Ceris, Victor and Micah she knows she is on borrowed time. One small contact from Victor and all hell breaks loose (literally) and Holy Moly gods of hell she is chased, hunted and all alone.

The next few chapters were hard to read (no spoilers!) suffice to say what happens to Nadine is beyond what any human should have to tolerate. What I loved about this book, and I do believe Juliana wrote with much deeper emotion was what Nadine endured brought out the roller coaster range of feelings you would have if you witnessed the horror Nadine had.

Her pain and suffering was palpable and so believable and when she finally got Micah to agree to the Soul Oath you just knew Nadine was on a one way path to hell.

On a lighter note, though I thoroughly enjoyed to shameless love triangle in the first book, I’m glad it didn’t go on through the 2nd. Micah, is delicious, divine, sexy and oh so confusing and his interaction and flirtatious manner with Nadine was like slowly devouring chocolate, sinfully sweet.

As with the first there were demons and bats and gods, Oh my! Double crossings, evil plots twists and Death Lords. I couldn’t count the number of times I felt I was on the top of a large roller coaster anticipating the drop, but when I did the whole wonderful story took my breath away.

Again, as with the first there was no cliff hanger ending. I’m fan girling Juliana for that BUT you know there is more to come. I hope Micah and Nadine can work out their ‘differences’ and get it on, but there is a small matter of a soul oath to get past. (What he did for her birthday at the Lake of life had me swooning, and had him added to my book boyfriend list) I’M LOVING THIS SERIES.

Can’t wait to get my hands on the next installment Cup of Life (0.5) which is a novella told from Micah’s POV…..it’s out in January and it will keep me going until Everlast #3 comes out :)

4.5 bats *Was given a free copy by the author in exchange for my honest opinions*

Omg, I didn’t think this world could get any scarier than the first one but I guess I was wrong! Though Soul Oath is written three months after Destiny Gift, it doesn’t take long before the heart racing action begins. And thank god for that! After the cliffhanger of the first one I did not want to wait 50 or so pages till the story actually got somewhere. Mrs. Haygert did an amazing job at always keeping me on my toes!

It isn’t long before the bats start attacking, getting worse with every passing minute, and they’re fiercer than before, determined to get Nadine’s blood. Poor Nadine! Lost and torn between two worlds, not really fitting into either one as she’s just been a pawn in a game. Though when she gets sucked back into this world, this war with the gods she’s out to prove to everyone that she isn’t just this weak little human.

However she doesn’t get this rush of determination till she loses something very precious to her. And oh my god, that was such a shocking turn of events. I couldn’t believe what I was reading! Mrs. Haygert writes breathtaking twist and turns, I honestly did not know where this story was heading! (Sometimes I felt like things dragged or was unsure with where things were going, however at the end everything made sense and I don’t think you could write it any other way) Trust me, you may think you know where it’s going but Mrs. Haygert is good at pulling the rug right out from under you.

Now let’s talk about the romance, shall we. In Destiny Gift it was all about Victor however as the puzzle pieces begin to fall into place we find out a secret about him and that he’s completely off limits. Poor Nadine! So in this one it’s all about Micah and oh my God! Nadine and his relationship develop at a pace that felt just right. Throughout the book you see that he cares and is concerned about her but of course there’s something holding him back, there’s always something. But not matter what, I became smitten and was so excited when Cup of Life (Everlast #2.5) was written in his point of view! Of course I jumped the gun with that one as soon as I finished this one!

Overall this world is so spine chilling, so actioned packed that I had to sometimes put down the book so I could breathe again haha. But no fear, this hooked me and when I was on a roll there was no way you could pry this out of my hands!

In just 321 pages Mrs. Haygert has you sitting on the edge of your seat one moment, then smitten with a very hot and heavy romance in the next, then in another your heart strings are being pulled every which way. Soul Oath is a read that’ll take a hold of you and you’ll be okay with it cause once you reach the end you’ll be wishing for more!

I would like to thank the author for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. After finishing Destiny Gift I was waiting eagerly to read Soul Oath and the wait was worth it.As soon as I got my copy of Soul Oath I started reading it and I was able to finish it in one sitting. The book starts off a few months after the events of Destiny Gift.Nadine is still working in the hospital and trying to help her parents keep the family afloat. She has not heard anything from Victor,Micah,Cerise or any of the gods. But it all comes crashing down when Victor comes to the hospital desperately in need of her healing touch and brings a horde of killer bats along with him.
Omhi and Imha want nothing more than to see the world destroyed.Demons descend over the city of New York ,which has already been plunged into a state of unending darkness.Nadine is forced to flee the city and escapes with Micah's help.Along with her comes another woman,Keisha with newly developed kickass powers. She goes back to her hometown. And can I just say that I love her family and the bond that she has with her siblings??It is so sweet to read!!But obviously the book cannot go on without any difficulties.Nadine goes through hell in this book. That poor girl!!It hurt me to read about all her pain. And her reaction to the events was very realistic.
Moving on towards the romantic aspect of the book.I am glad that the author decided on Micah as the primary love interest. It was pretty clear in the first book itself that what Nadine and Victor had wasn't real.Nadine also realises that. The scenes between Nadine and Micah were so swoontastic!!Micah as always is his charming, teasing self. But it can be seen that he is beginning to show some real feelings for Nadine. Also it was evident that this Micah was very different from the previous death god Micah.Due to certain events Nadine makes a Soul Oath with Micah.Nadine herself is confused about her feelings for Micah. In addition to that he keeps running hot and cold towards her.Phew!!
The other characters were also fleshed out very well.Surprisingly I didn't hate Cerise in this book as much as I did in the previous book. The main aim of Nadine and her friends right now us to find Micah and Victor's sceptres and restore them as gods before Omhi and Imha completely destroy the world. On their way we meet a few other gods who decide to help them in their quest. The best part of the book was the character development that Nadine goes through. She is not the same innocent girl she was in Destiny Gift. She learns to defend herself and doesn't depend on others. Will the sceptres be found in time and can Omhi and Imha be stopped before it is too late??Will Nadine be able to heal from the terrible ordeal that she has gone through??Read on to find out!! :D

A lovely sequel that was even better than the first book, Soul Oath was a fantastic read. In this book, the stakes were higher, the romance was deeper, the characters were stronger. I really enjoyed reading this book.

Nadine was much better in this book. In book 1, my main problem was that Nadine needed to be fiercer, needed to fight more, rather than be passive and run or hide. At first, that problem remained. But, as the book went on, Nadine found her strength and began to fight for what she wanted. She proved herself as a heroine and I ended up really liking her.

Victor's role was more minor in this book. He was still sweet and adorable, but his role was taken over by Micah.

Micah was amazing. He was so sweet and still delightfully charming. At the end of book 1, I was a bit confused as to where to place him on the "good/bad" scale. But, in this book, we see that he's fiercely loyal to the people he cares about and willing to do anything for them, even if it wasn't strictly "good." I completely adored him in this book and I can't wait to read the upcoming novella that's in his POV.

The romance became a stronger element in this book, though the conflict between the gods still took greater focus. The author still took the time to develop the romance in a way that was realistic and made the emotions really deep. Who was the romance between? Well, I don't want to spoil the love triangle for you, so I'll let you figure that out. But I thought these two were lovely together.

The plot good. It was a little slow at first. But, about halfway through, a lot of things happened that kick started the plot and, from then on, I was hooked. There were tons of surprises in store that I never saw coming, deaths that made me tear up, and thrills that kept me on the edge of my seat. I really enjoyed the story and the ending tied a few things up while leaving others open for the next book. I can't wait to see how things end in this trilogy. And I'm definitely excited for the upcoming novella :)

Soul Oath was a wonderful New Adult paranormal romance. I really enjoyed reading this book. There were surprises, thrills, romance, and an ending that has me itching for more. Fans of book 1 will not be disappointed by this lovely sequel. And NA lovers, if you want a great paranormal read, then this is a series you definitely need to check out.

I received these books from the author in exchange for an honest review.

4.5 Stars

For my stop on the tour, I read both Destiny Gift & Soul Oath, books 1 and 2 in the Everlast series. While I liked both books, I enjoyed Soul Oath a bit more. I really want to provide a spoiler free review, but that will be hard when even the book blurb for Soul Oath has spoilers. Bear with me, I'll try to focus on the world and characters in general.

First off, this series takes place in New York, thirty years in the future. The world is quite different in the future with a strong dystopian/post-apocalyptic feel. The city is constantly under attack by giant bats. We have a paranormal aspect to the story in the form of Nadine's dreams of Victor, as well as gods and goddesses fighting each other. Her visions/dreams show a world that hasn't been decimated by creepy, giant bats. When Nadine meets Victor in reality, he isn't the guy that appeared in her dreams. Must've been quite a rude awakening to poor Nadine to meet the real Victor.

I liked Nadine. She reminds me so much of an everyday person saddled with the extraordinary. Even though she wishes for a normal life (I'm not sure how normal it could ever be when the world is under attack by dark forces), she can't seem to let go of her visions of Victor and the nice world within them. Poor Nadine has no control over when the visions strike. Nadine grows as a person in many ways as the truth is slowly revealed to her. She is a strong character, devoted to friends and family while trying to make the best of things.

While I enjoyed book 1, it does start out a bit on the slow side. There is a lot of world building needed to portray the fantasy world created by Ms. Haygert. Don't let that stop you from continuing to read or you'll miss out on a good book. The fantasy world is richly developed and is intriguing on many different levels. Book 2 starts with a bang (maybe an explosion) and takes off from there. In Soul Oath, Ms. Haygert isn't saddled with endless explanations to the reader of her fantasy realm rules. Male lead Micah is also much easier to stomach in the second book, in fact, I'm sure he'll appeal to many readers.

If you're looking for something different in the new adult category, add Destiny Gift & Soul Oath to your TBR list. I recommend this series to ages 17+.

MY STARS : 5

MY REVIEW
Hello! Today the blog has a review of Soul Oath, two-book trilogy Everlast.
I read synopsis of the trilogy called my attention, so I decided to start from scratch and delve into this very dark future in our world.

The first book is very good, if you were like me it was the first time they read something Haygert Juliana, read Gift Destiny, definitely. In this book we meet Nadine, who has dreams about Victor, a guy that does not exist for her but a good day encounters with, really!. And it is here where the real journey of our protagonist begins. This very well written, and it’s very cool, with a plot that draws you to the second book, as the tour is indicated Soul Oath.

Soul Oath, is deeper, and while at points gives you answers to questions you had in the first book, in others, leads to ways to lure the last book. Any doubt this very well thought out by the author as my guiding the reader.

Hell, one NY in the disaster, love triangles, and if we add the mythology, a path that could bring light or permanently sink in hell, n makes you feel a swirl of emotions with the characters, and if in the first book you were wondering if Victor was Victor’s dreams Nadine. because it was so different than in dreams and when that something more would come. This feeling that romance goes and that includes someone else Micah. A love triangle amidst the mess in which they find both Victor and so Micah same as our protagonist, Nadine.

Although I became a fan of Victor, I must admit that Micah, this book took. So I think the fans will be happy with it.

I like the ingenuity of the author, I think a well-defined world, every member knew where to place it. The characters speak for themselves. They have personality and at times you see the evolution of the characters.

It is a new adult book with a mythological world well designed and here we can see more. And he mixed with a post-apocalyptic world was a whole: WAO!

I received a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review,

4.5 stars

This was a great second book. There was plenty of action that kept the book flowing at a really good pace. The characters continue to develop and allow you to connect even more, even with some unexpected characters. The only thing I would change about this book is I loved how Nadine was determined to learn how to fight and protect herself after everything she has been through. She was determined not to be the damsel in distress, always needing someone to save her. She had a very hard decision to make in this book. I can't imagine having to make such a decision. I like the way that Ms. Haygert allows Nadine to grieve her losses, but find a way to move on with life. I admired Nadine more in this book and believe this will continue into the last book.

Many times, a series will have three books when two would really do best. Juliana Haygert does a great job of writing an excellent second book that keeps the momentum going. I can't wait to see how she ends the series, although I am in no way ready for it to end! I highly recommend this series for anyone who loves paranormal fiction with light romance. I've loved every minute of the series.

If you guys haven't started reading this trilogy, I highly recommend you get on that. I liked Destiny Gift, but Soul Oath is just awesome. I feel like everything that happened in the first book was leading up to all the stuff that just explodes out of this book. Nadine is easier to connect with, the plot is getting twisted and complicated, and best of all - Micah is on FIRE. I found myself thinking about the story when I wasn't reading it and I just devoured it every chance I got.

We're back in the Everlast world, which is somehow darker than it was before. The threat of danger lurks on every page. No where feels safe and every time Nadine thinks she can rest for a minute, you just wait for the other shoe (or the other demons) to drop. We're off on quite the quest in this book, including some time in Minnesota which always makes me happy, and I can't wait to see where Nadine and gang are going from here.

The second Micah showed back up, the whole story just ignites. He just frustrates me in the best way possible. The tension he brings is just so great. He just makes Victor seem like a blip on the radar. Micah is larger than life and he says things and does things that are perfect even as he drives me crazy. And with the way he left things in this book I am dying to know how he's going to be in the next book.

Juliana has created her own mythology and it's getting more complicated. The gods and goddesses are starting to show their pasts, their roles in history, and they're even beginning to flash bits of their weaknesses. It's a bold move to create your own myths and Juliana really pulls it off. I love that she's doing something different in the NA field and if you're looking for something that's not contemporary, I think this is a great place to start.

After book #1, I was intrigued; when I read the synopsis I was really excited…
And.. I was not a bit disappointed. I got sucked into Soul Oath (the beginning was slow, but then it was well paced). The thing I appreciated most was characters (those guys!) and packed action that not even once for a second I was bored.

Nadine goes for revenge. She’s stronger, fiercer.

Sex-on-a-stick Micah was too hot to handle. I love this guy. Victor can go to hell; he was such a disappointment… It frustrated me to no end because I really liked him in book 1 , I expected the romance to grow…. I wanted him to step up, fight for Nadine, but he just stepped back, Why? He wasn't really putting much effort in it (or maybe he was but was such a pussy?). Anyway, the love triangle is still there and you need figure that out…

(ok, maybe it was more like below, but well... couldn't resist not to put it here)

The romance became stronger in this book, although it was slowly developing. It’s good because it did not overtake the action. The conflict between the gods still took much focus. Something dark is happening, like really dark. I was surprised; I didn't expect this book to have such twist... So there is a lil bit of everything, danger, action, romance, paranormal twists, ass-kicking.

I would love to see book 3# someday.

And it only gets better with book 2!

Book 1 left you desperate for more with several lives hanging in the balance of revealed secrets. Fortunately, book 2 starts off in a steady jog and quickly builds to an all out run. Nadine finds herself struggling to survive as the state of the world only worsens. Demons roam the streets, and they are looking for her.

What they do when they find her is heartbreaking, but it creates a fiery need for her to embrace her strength and fight. Victor and Micah are wrapped up in forces beyond his control, but Micah has something Nadine desperately wants: the ability to grant her one wish.

Loved, loved, loved this sequel. Still Team Micah, actually even more after this book. But this book is so much more than two boys competing for a girl. It hits on almost every emotion... sadness, anger, fear, temptation. When your heart is not racing from excitement, it will break. I sniffled through much of this book, Nadine's torment so clear.

Can't wait for the continuation of the series and for the upcoming Cup of Life, a novella told from Micah's point of view. Yum!

Note: I received a complimentary copy for review purposes. A positive review was not requested or guaranteed; the opinions expressed are my own.

Wonderful addition to an amazing series!

Nadine once again finds herself caught up in the quest to help Micah and Victor reclaim their godhood. They have been unable to find their staffs, which would restore them to their full power. The original group is reunited along with some additional gods, a goddess and a hero. Unfortunately the group is betrayed by people they trust and are almost killed at every turn. Nadine ends up making a soul oath with Micah, this means he owns her soul when she dies in exchange for a promise. You will have to read the book to find out what the promise is since I won't give away any spoilers.
I didn't like this book quite as much as the first, but that is not saying I didn't still love it. I didn't like the language in this book. There was multiple uses of the 'f word'. The first book was nothing like this so I am not sure why the author decided that it was necessary. There were a couple of steamy scenes also but nothing too bad. I can't wait for book three to come out so I can finally find out what happens to Nadine and the other characters.

I've received a copy of this book in exchange for a honest review.

This is the second book of Everlast trilogy.

I have to say this book surprised me for being a faster pace than the 1st one. That was key for keeping me hanging… The second book also had more action right from the begging and it´s just a wonderful addition to the series.

There are still some times when I fell lost with all characters and understanding this new world. Even the Gods are difficult to get.

In this book, Nadine is again helping the Gods in a human body. Here we get a chance to see more of their world, how they interact as Ceris, Victor and Micah finds themselves united.

Love how even in the chaos things can get worse… be prepared: there are some extremely heartbreaking moments.

Best part was definitely Micah. I´ve already liked him from book one. Here I felt in love. For me this is a different kind of love triangle. Micah is this dark God with a big heart, with is crazy, I know… But it´s what I believe can describe him the most.

Ansious to see how the story develops now ! :)

Nadine was hoping for a bit of a break getting back to her life as normal as it can be. But not all things stay quite though, now the demons are back for her and she must run or learn to fight with the help of others. She is also trying to figure out her purpose on why shes still not totally normal there is still something special about her even when her future sighting power was taken away.

Another fantastic book, its got a perfect mix of action, romance, and a bit of mystery to keep the readers guessing. I think my favorite thing about both books is that the author writes in a way that you can vividly paint a picture in your mind of what is happening. With this book there was never a dull moment, the first book got all the introductions which was a bit of a slow start but this book just jumps right into the action. Between the two guys I have to say Micah is my favorite one.

If you are a paranormal fan you must read this book, but I recommend you check out the first book because this isn't a stand alone book.

Great follow up to Destiny Gift. In this book Nadine is helping Micah and Victor on their quest to become gods again. We are introduced to a few more gods, and Ceris plays a bigger role than in the first book. Nadine is still torn between the two guys, but the romance becomes a little more defined in this one. Also, we are shown that things are more complicated than just being good or evil. Sometimes the gods do things that they think is necessary at the time, and even if the act is evil, it doesn't necessarily means that they are too. I only wish that it wouldn't take so long to get book 3. At the time of this review there's not even a title or an expected publication date. I'm looking forward to reading Cup of Life, since it will be on Micah's point of view. I liked him in the first book, but we really fall in love with him in this one.

I got this book from the author, free of cost, in exchange of an honest review from my side.

Firstly I would like to thank the author for giving me this opportunity of reading and reviewing this book.

I really enjoyed this story more than book 1 and that's saying something because I really loved book 1 too. The characters in here have developed so much more than what we saw in book 1 and the plot twists gave me chills too.

The romance element was so uniquely and beautifully presented that it alone won my heart. Nadine wasn't the best and kick-ass heroine that I like but she has a unique quality that made me like her, she never gives up and can get herself out of any dire situation specially emotional ones.

We get to see very little of Victor in here but that much was power-packed!!!

Over all a great read that had suspense, mystery, action and above all passionate romance. So go for it guys!!!

In "Soul Oath", book two of the Everlast trilogy, Nadine kicks some serious butt.

This book takes place three months after the first book ended, Nadine is back in New York attending school and working at the hospital again. It doesn't take long before the chaos of the city erupts around Nadine and she is thrown into fighting off demons again. This time she has help in the form of Keisha and they along with Riasa are able to escape NY and head back to their hometowns.
This story is more action packed then the first book and has so many twist and turns it kept me on the edge of my seat. I can't tell you how things evolve between Micah, Victor and Nadine without giving some major things away but I can tell you I was not disappointed at all, in fact I purchased book 2.5 (Micha's POV) before I finished 50% of this book...it's that good!!!! I can't wait for book three to be released!!!

I read Destiny Gift shortly after it came out and was really looking forward to this one. It did not disappoint.

I've been on Team Micah from the start. And again, this book did not disappoint. I think I love Micah even more now.

"Hi, darling. Did you miss me?" I think I may have swooned every time he said darling.

My heart broke for Nadine with what happened to her family. And it broke for Micah when she asked for the soul oath. You could tell he didn't want to do it. There were times I wanted to slap Nadine because she just wouldn't see.

'Micah took off his shirt.' - That line may have fried my brain. With Micah, it doesn't seem to take much.

Like I said, I loved this book. Can't wait for the third book to come out.

Full Review at: What's Beyond Forks?

I'm really enjoying this series, and this book was so darn hard to put down. We get to know new characters complete with allies and betrayals. And the characters we already know as the bad guys?? They get worse! There was a moment or two that completely shocked me. The story was non-stop. I'm hooked on this series! I highly recommend it! The ARC of Soul Oath Juliana Haygert was provided to me by the Xpresso Tours for review. The opinions are my own.

I received this book for my honest review.

This was a continuation to a great first book and it picks up three months after the first book ended and all of the main characters are here with a few news ones. This book hooked me from beginning to end and it kept me entertained. IO loved catching up with the characters from the first book and seeing where this story will take me and if some of the things in the first book would get resolved. I was happy to see that this story flowed just as well as the first and I look forward to reading the next installment in this series to see where everything will up and what will happen between Micah and Nadine.

Micaaah ♡♡♡

The story is getting more and more exciting! It's hard to stop reading and it's very easy to picturing the story in my head just like a movie. I like the plot even tho a little bit harsh for Nadine's family... but it's so good! I really like the new character in this book, that strong female fighter! Very cool! I think the earth really need more fighter like her to win the war with those demons.

I can't wait to read the 3rd book of the series <3

My feeling for Micah getting bigger, anyway! He's so hot hahaha....

Although there were definite flaws in this second book as compared to the amazing start of this series, I still think the book deserves a good rating. The exciting story that started in book one is continued here. The flaws in this book were the slowness and over explaining of plot points. I don't feel the author made a seamless transfer from book one but I still loved.
The love story told in this one as compared to the first book is totally unexpected but also a great surprise. Micah is my new book boyfriend!

This is a great book.

The romantic tension between Victor and Nadine is sweet and you are always wondering what exactly is there. But Micah is just plain swoon-worthy. Even though you know he has a dark side, you long for Nadine to fall into his arms and never come out. Well, what you really long for is fall into his arms yourself, but you'll just have to live vicariously because, you know, it's fiction.

I can ABSOLUTELY not wait to read the next installment from Micah's POV.
