Ahhhh...the Gibson brothers! Guys, where have you been all my life? What's not to love about them? They're Pinkerton lawmen. They're honest. They're brave. They're...extremely hot! We have Max. He's the sensibile, bordering on the uptight, brother. There's Sam, the ornery one, and then there's Josh. Oh, Josh! SO many reasons why he's my favorite. Smart, chivalrous, a hell of a dancer, and did I mention that he's quite the dominant lover. Sigh...
How lucky can one woman be, right? Well, hotel owner Sophie McLeod seems to be up to the task. Thanks to her friends in Tanner's Ford, she's been fantasizing about having three men in her life...and her bed. However, there are crimes to solve and villains to catch, and Max tells his brothers that there will be no settling down until their work is done, and Sophie even gets in on the act, taking some matters into her own hands.
There. That's all the spoilers that you'll get from me. You'll have to read "Demanding Satisfaction" for yourself to get the full effect. I really enjoyed it. The sex was hot...as always in Reece Butler's books, but it's not overwhelming, and it doesn't control the storyline. The four main characters share a great chemistry, and I really loved Sophie. This is the 9th book in the "Bride Train" series. I've only read two of them, and while they can be read as stand alones, I really recommend that you start from the beginning, as I found myself a little lost a few times. There are a lot of folks who live in Tanner's Ford, and they do cross over. I'm going to be reading the rest of the series because I want to get to know all of them.
This was a great read, and I would recommend it to anyone who loves hot cowboys, tough women, mystery, and action.
I loved loved loved this series. *teary eyed* to hear its ending. Not much of an historical reader but this series had me hooked from book 1. BRAVO ms Butler for one OUTSTANDING series. A must read!
Ughh, as the series evolved, I liked the books more and more, Kate and Casey's stories were amazing, so I had high expectations heading into this book, so maybe I expected too much? The problem with this book is that it dragged, and dragged, and dragged - heck, even after the big reveal, there was no reveal until the next chapter! This is Sophie's story, and she has been in all the other books as the owner of the hotel and we had been given the impression she was quite worldly and a older than she is here. Apparently not, she is only 26 and was widowed shortly after getting married in her teens. She has had sparks with the Pinkerton agent, Max, who has been in town lately, and we learn he has an identical twin (so who exactly has she been lusting after??) Sam, and a younger brother, Josh, both who are also Pinkerton agents. Sam takes advantage of what Sophie is offering at her hotel but has to leave town the next morning early with Max. Lily and Sophie decide that they aren't helping them enough to find Mr Isaac so Sophie is going undercover to bring him out Sophie meets Josh and he ends up buying her for the week, and she immediately falls into bed with him, then he has to go to meeting, so Max takes his place in her bed to take his pleasure, then he has to go to a meeting so Sam crawls into her bed. She then wakes back up with Josh in the bed. There is a whole bunch of meetings and takings and deals and plans being made, but they are all part of the drag of the story The final plan is that Josh trades Sophie for whiskey to Max, and when she resists, Mr Isaac will be brought in to discipline her and they will catch him. Problem is, they have no idea where Sophie will be taken and of course lose her in the scuffle. She saves herself, with the help of one of the ladies at the establishment she is working at, and the ranchers of Tanners Ford catch the nefarious murderer and we finally get the final piece of the bad buys. Now, that being said, it really wasn't any surprise as most of the characters have been eliminated at this point, but still, the reveal was dragged for two chapters?? It was nice to finish off the story and the other characters, but Sophie's easy acceptance of the brothers handing her off like a prize and marrying them before they all confessed their love to her, and the switch of who married her from the brothers plans, umm, not nearly as good or convincing as the other stories in the series. I think Sophie's story could have been handled on the side like Lily or Emma's stories just as thoroughly
Too many characters, not enough page time for the mc I liked this series and have read everyone of them. This book went way past my limit of tolerance for the sheer number of characters I had to read about. The plot-line of finding Mr. Isaac was tolerable but took up too much of the book. I am glad it is over, this particular book and also the series. I think this author is very skilled and I have loved most of the books in this series, just not this one.
Bought this series a few years ago, reading it again. Only just realised that the next generation books are out there, as not shown as a link in store. Great stories
