A complicated love triangle that covers both heaven and earth.

"MICAH sat alone in the darkened emptiness of space. He felt racked with guilt. What was he doing? This wasn't right and he knew it. He had gone too far in his quest to keep a promise. Everything had gotten out of control somehow. Emma had become too important to him. And it was more than that; he longed to be around her, to talk with her, to touch her again and again. These feelings were strange to him. He’d never experienced anything like this. It was almost as if someone were inside his head, whispering to him, making him want things he could never have. A heavenly being wasn't supposed to feel this way. But he did, and it was breaking him. He knew what he needed to do to fix it, but he wasn't ready to let go. He didn't want to leave. He wanted to stay right where he was. He deserved happiness too. Maybe there was a way. Maybe he could have her for himself. Would that really be so wrong? The answer to that question screamed back at him from inside his head. Yes, yes it would be."

"From the very first moment, EMMA had wanted him to want her, but never really thought it was possible. Now he was saying little cryptic things that made her think maybe there was a chance for them.
But now Emma felt feelings that she had never expected to feel for a sweet blue eyed boy, that she was going to have to turn her back on. Could she really do that? She wasn’t sure she could."

"DESTRY was at war with himself. He couldn't figure out what it was about the girl Emma that had him feeling upside down and inside out. Every time he saw her, he got that burning feeling that nearly choked him. He wanted to be near her. She was like oxygen to him, she made everything feel better. She eased the burning in his chest and calmed the fluttering of his mind. But did she feel the same when she was around him? He seemed to make her uncomfortable and sometimes angry. He didn't want to chase after someone that didn't want to be chased. He hoped that after tonight, the burning would leave him alone and he could move on with life. A life that didn't involve seeing Emma's face every time he closed his eyes."

I grew up in Pleasant Grove Utah where I met and married my high school sweetheart. Now I live in the tiny town of Axtell, Utah with my husband, six kids, and a whole lot of farm animals. I love to read, and I love to paint wildlife.
Young love is one of my favorite things to write about and it's always more fun if there's a hard choice that has to be made or an unexpected twist at the end.
Everyone loves romance!

Synopsis:
17 year old Emma has floated through life in a small town as a loner...until she starts hearing a voice in her head. Now, some people might find this a little majorly strange. How does a seventeen year old even begin to describe this? Well, her guardian angel, Micah, sure enough has all of this answers. Emma happily floats through her last few months of senior year talking to Micah in her head, until Destry asks her to Prom. With Micah encouraging her to get out and talk to humans, can Emma shake the feeling of betrayal she feels about her feelings towards Micah or will she give it all up for Micah?

Prosecution:
Ah, love triangles. All of the wonderful things in life have involved a love triangle (or two). Henry VIII and Anne Boleyn, JFK and Marilyn, even Princess Di and Prince Charles (actually, all of this things have been tragic, oops). So whats so different about Emma's? Well, its between an angel and a human. Yeah, no biggie. Except, sometimes the entire thing seemed a little too rushed. Emma, a typical loner, has an overly attached personality (which who can blame her, affection starved thing) becomes quite a predicament for solid Micah, who just wants her to form a human bond with Destry. If you read the novel, you'll find out why.
What I really wish I could tweak is to make the writing not quite so formal. It would be readable for a few chapters, yet then break up and become rocky. It was distracting and I would find myself skimming through paragraphs waiting for something anything to happen.

Defense:
While love triangles can be messy, I found this one to be pretty clean cut. I mean, hello, MAJOR PLOT TWIST. Seriously, never saw it coming (except for that little hint of foreshadowing, dun dun dun). Emma was likable and I found myself finding more than a few similarities between our personalities (Introverts, unite!). Destry was the perfect gentleman, if a bit short tempered and easily frustrated (no go man, no go). But the ending, like...whoa. It completely MADE the novel. There weren't really any loose ties or a suspenseful cliff hanger. Just the way I like things.

"She hoped someday, someone would be able to break through her invisible brick wall, swim the moat of impossible expectations, and rescue her from herself. She didn't want to end up an old spinster."

Emma is a seventeen, soon to be eighteen, year-old girl who has pretty much been a loner her whole life. But, when she is saved by an angel and hears his voice, she no longer feels alone, especially as he begins to interact with her more and more. In fact, he begins to fill a void within Emma. Then enters Destry. He is the stuff dream guys are made of: smart, kind, witty, caring, and well...hot! This is where emotions begin to rise and fall like a fast moving roller coaster.

Chantelle Nay has created a story that is easy to read and where the reader becomes emotionally attached to both males in Emma's life. At times, I was rooting for the angel, Micah, others, it was all about Destry. The ending was a brilliant wrap up that left me saying, "Whew!" because for a while I wasn't sure we were going to get a "happy ending."

This story will appeal especially to the YA audience, but can be enjoyed by anyone that enjoys a sweet, paranormal romance. And, the teaser at the end for Nay's sequel will have you saying, "Where's the rest?!"

Great story of a love triangle, and the ability to choose your guy. I loved the journey through first dates, and talking to an angel. Who will she choose?

Had a hard time with this one, it was slow starting and then the characters and how they acted just didn't click for me. Will not be reading the 2nd as I skipped chapters and skimmed just to finish getting through.

My God.
Where do I even begin?
This book (if I can even call it that) is about Emma I-really-don't-remember-or-care-about-her-last-name who gets saved by her guardian angel at some point in her sadly tragic life where she almost gets crushed by her truck. I have no idea why but this triggers Emma to have feelings for this angel (his name is Micah by the way) and want to be with him forever and forever even though he clearly says he's just there to protect and watch over her. This is where we bring out the whiny, childish side of Emma who spends a good portion of this book moping because Micah won't love her and getting mad every single time she brings up their "relationship". Like, seriously Emma? The angel does not want you. Put on your big girl undies and move the heck on.
Things are made more complicated in Emma's life when she starts feeling some sort of way for Destry McQuade. She shouldn't be feeling these things when she's meant to be with Micah, right? Emma then proceeds to spend the remainder of the book leading Destry on and then pushing him away. She wants to be with him but she can't because she's in an unconfirmed relationship with her angel even though she feels like she knows Destry from before. The ending though. I was not expecting that plot twist. Apparently Destry and Emma are two halves of the same whole and even though Micah has feelings for her (how is that even possible what the hell....) Destry and Emma are meant to be together. Even after she was convinced otherwise and nearly pushed the boy to going back to Nebraska because she didn't want him and he didn't want to stay there if he couldn't have her blah blah blah. Micah finally confesses to Emma why she feels the way she does about Destry and the heavens open up, majestic light pours down and Emma realizes that DESTRY IS DA ONE *rolls eyes faster than the speed of light*
I am under the lasting impression that this girl has some sort of split personality disorder or something. My two year old sister who throws a tantrum on an almost daily basis has better behavior than Emma.
"Emma was starting to get annoyed. Destry was treating her like a little kid who had no business being involved in adult conversations." Oh, really? Because I was actually convinced you were only five.
"Emma furrowed her eyebrows at him, not ready to give up being offended yet." How mature.
I also do not understand how Destry manages to stick around this girl. Seriously. He should write a book because I was this close to finding a way to reach through this book and strangle this girl to death I swear.
The dialogue was childish and poorly written. The characters were all flat and boring and I felt like slapping every single one of them, even Emma's grandmother. And I love old people (although I didn't want to slap anyone more than I wanted to slap Emma. This girl just upsets my soul ugh). They added nothing to the book and were just there for Emma's convenience (that's the only reason I could come up with). I feel as though a preschooler wrote this book. Or maybe they had a better chance of writing something that was not as horrifying and vomit-inducing as this book. All I have to say is if you're going to read this book make sure you have an extra pair of eyes because there will be a lot of eye-rolling involved. Trust me.

*This Might Contain a Few spoilers but not much*

Okay, i have a lot to say about this book. I started this book thinking it was completely stupid. I mean really, falling in love with an angel? It's not a completely foreign concept. Other authors have done this. however, never with an angel portrayed as a heavenly being, it's always been a fallen angel who no longer is a perfect being but now a human. Micah was still a heavenly , perfect being. I can't seem to put into words my thoughts on this. How it was written failed epic-ly . It felt so wrong reading that this heavenly being was in love with a High schooler and she with him. Angels are godly and are full of power. One does that talk to an angel and fall in love. You would be in awe of them. I get the concept and that they knew each other in another life. After learning that it isn't so laughable . But really , it was stupid. That could easily been left out. I loved Emma and Destry and learning about what Micah did for them. Emma falling in love with Micah shouldn't of been a thing. A friendship taking place would of been better. It lessened Emma and Destrys love by her continually choosing Micah .

It was pretty terrible but slightly saved buy Destry. I probably wouldn't recommend this book because it's frustrating how stupid a lot of it is. Ill probably read the second one in hopes that it's better now that Emma isn't all about being in love with Micah.

I received this book through Goodreads Giveaway.

I honestly expected a lot more. I mean the description sounded good, but it was a disappointment. The plot was plain. Eternal in some weird sense actually reminded me of Personal Demons by Lisa Desrochers, but a lot worse. The plot was plain and bad developed, and the characters were not really that interesting to follow. I really tried to get into story, but I just couldn't. Only in the end it got a little, just a little more better. I might read the second book just to see if it will get better.
I wish all the luck to the author.

Free Nook Book -

An angel starts talking to a 17 year old girl. She falls in love. Mortal boy comes along. She falls in love with him too.
I am not much into the Angel genre, but this was free. I did need to know how this plot like would resolve itself and it hooked me.
The ending was satisfying.

I had a hard time reading this book. The idea was an interesting one, but the main character seemed much younger than her almost 18 age and she was so undecided about everything in her life, going back and forth, back and forth, in her head with almost the same dialogue. I just couldn't understand her thinking and so this just wasn't one of my favorites.

I would have rated this 1 star, since that's how I felt for the first 200 pages. However, the ending had a bit of a twist that slightly redeemed the last 40 pages, thus the 2 star rating.

Overall, I was annoyed throughout the story by Micah and Emma. I was disgusted by the angel's behavior and annoyed by Emma. Even Destry bothered me with his overpowering weird feelings.

Enjoyed the novel but Emma shits me! I don't think I could ever read another of this series.. It Took so long to unfold, mainly because she's so pigheaded and stubborn! She doesn't seem to think at all. Of course there's love triangles and ends in a cliff hanger to get you to read more, but I wont
