STARVE CURSE HATE

STARVE CURSE HATE (Cynthia St Clair's Search for What-ever!) is a spoof of EAT PRAY LOVE. In this oddly inspirational book the main character Cynthia, a rich beautiful divorcee who is looking for inner peace, love and happiness, decides to follow in author Elizabeth Gilbert's footsteps and travel to Italy, India and Indonesia. While on her journey, when one thing after another goes wrong, wrong, wrong, Cynthia begins to ask, "Whoa God, how come you answered all of Elizabeth's prayers but you haven't answered any of mine?" Then suddenly she realizes: perhaps HE has!

STARVE CURSE HATE was definitely a spoof of EAT PRAY LOVE. Cynthia was portrayed as a dumb blond, full of herself wealthy woman. Wealthy only because of a divorce settlement. This was one of the hardest books I have had to read. It was very slow, way to close to EAT PRAY LOVE and I found Cynthia way too irritating. The way it was written, based on the character’s mind, it jumped all over the place from one thought to another and then back again which ended up having me confused and lost as to where I was in the story. I tried to finish the book but just couldn’t do it.

Rating: DNF (did not finish)

Of course as the author of this book I am going to give it 5 stars!

However, I intend to quote what 2 independent PREVIEW readers had to say:

One 18 year old wrote: "Start out by saying I love this! It's too funny! And such a great idea for an entertaining read."

A 72 year old stated: "Advice to the potential reader: do not start this book in the evening unless you are either a very fast reader or are planning to stay up all night!"

I guess those statements will give credibility to mine: "Readers of all ages agree: you are going to love this book!"
