Liss is trying to chase her dreams on her own terms, but memories of Joe, her rock star ex, haunt her day and night. She fights for happiness and discovers a life she can call her own.
How do you move on when your heart belongs to someone else?
But when Joe and his band come back to town and back into her life, his presence reignites her passion for him and threatens to topple the delicate balance of her new existence.
Love is a fire that can nurture or destroy, but you can't tell which until you surrender to the flames.
This book was just a pity party for Liss. I thought her issue was lack of self esteem but, this book alluded to more. To summarize this book, Liss led Joe on, was selfish and lacked any "rock band" feel. This was a story about a girl with issues. That's it.
Again....so much potential but fell very short of what it could have been. And now I believe I will be reading about different characters in the next story....which is disappointing as I don't feel Liss and Joe's story is over at all.
This one was a bit more believable and had a bit more story...but I was still left feeling disappointed in the end....and it felt very rushed.
This series is seriuosly starting to piss me off big time. I really don't think, I'm gonna read the rest of the books.
Liss One think I can't take, when I read a book, is when a girl can't see that she is beautiful. When she started saying things like, "Oh, I'm so fat, no one is ever going to love me or even want to be seen with me," I really just wanted to slap her. Right across the face. With a chair. Made of steal. Hard. I mean, come one - you have loving friends! You got a job, where people talk to you, not grimcing everytime you walk by.
And, just so you know, girls, who are fat or just a little big, can actually be really beautiful. Boys, mostly, wants curves, and not a skeleton. And if they do, throw a Barbie-doll in their faces. And Marylin Monroe, one of the most beautiful women in the world, had belly-fat as well, but was loved, and beautiful!
Joe He has got to be the most pacient guy I have ever read about (Except maybe for Kellan from Thoughtless...) He practely lets Liss run all over his heart with spiked high heels all the time. He lets her play ping pong with him, because she wants him, but not, but still....
In in start of the series, I thought he was a great guy (who fel in love just like that) and really liked him. In the end, I thought he was a little desperate.
All things considered, I didn't like the books. It wasn't my series at all, and they were so short! I think I just wont read anymore Clara Bayard books from now on, if this is what every book is like.
I actually read the resume of the fourth book, and the heroine was, again, a little big.... If she is just a little like like Liss, I seriously don't know what to say other that, "SERIOUSLY?!?"
Review for all three in series~ disappointed Book one was free on amazon about 70 pages shows a promising start to series want you to continue.Books 2&3 you pay for $7 dollars for less then 140 pages between both book two and three which would have been ok had book two and three had promise. The books were full of typos and the ending well sucked I was left with that it?? Had author did one book hint! (Some readers get turned off by these 70 page cliffhanger books ) and had there been more thorough ending with a proofreader the book would have been good. But because of typos, price, lack of through ending and short story I'd skip it as you won't even remember it in a day.
Another quick read. In Book 3, we find Liss has left the tour to focus on herself. She realizes she can't be happy in a relationship when she's not happy with herself....so very true. Liss is having nightmares trying to deal with the fact that she left Joe. Then, just as she's figuring herself out, he's back in town. Will she be able to be Liss and Joe's girlfriend? Can she be with a rockstar without losing herself? Can Joe forgive her for walking out on him?
I'm always hoping for a happy ending, but in this case, I was really rooting for Liss to find out who she is and what she wants to be before being with anyone else. Book 3 wasn't my favorite out of the Joe/Liss stories.
2 1/2stars... This still was a alright read for me. I'm glad that it is over. I really couldn't connect to the characters. I felt lose, like something was missing. Tge only thing great about the book was Joe, his love for Liss never wavered. Even after she kept running away because of her own insecurities. Decent book
Strong third book in this series. Wonderful character development with a plot line that will keep you reading. Finally, Liss must come to grips with her fears and decide whether her love for Joe can survive.
The book was OK, just not enough meat to it. Not enough for me to love either of the main characters Joe or Liss (Melissa). The editing was not done very well, with too many spelling errors. Which I could have lived with if there was more of a plot to the book.
I enjoyed the story of Joe and Liss. It is good to see authors write stories about real women with curves. Not all women are skin and bones. I look forward to reading about the other members of the band.
I just love a HEA ending in a book, I was so happy with the way this ended, and I am looking forward to reading Dex's' story. This author is creeping into my favorites list for sure.
So happy that this went the way it needed to for them. Not going to lie I was about ready to kick liss's ass but it worked out. Loving this series more and more
